Suzanne Perreault (Michou)

Born in Abitibi in 1952, Michou grew up close to lakes and forests. She studied Visual Arts in Quebec then Design at l'Université du Quebec à Montréal. Having worked as an interior designer during the education of her two sons, she is now entirely devoted to painting. She presently lives in Beloeil, in Montérégie.

Deeply marked by nature and childhood happiness; the family cocoon and the simple life are her force and inspiration. Of hypersensitive personality, this fragile butterfly woman needs freedom.

The style of her paintings, influenced by several of her favorite painters, remain however different because they correspond to a unique and major need for light and color. The figurative and contemporary aspect of her art often tends towards abstraction because the dream often takes over reality. Her art enables her to reveal and restaure herself; it is catalyst of emotion, sensitivity and pleasure.

After 2 trainings in design, it was natural for her to want to emphasize the objects that surround her and interpret them in her own style. In 2003, she took classes at l'Atelier de Peinture la Signature. Strongly inspired by Montreal painter Doris Savard, this was the beginning of a beautiful adventure in a space of creation and artistic freedom.

Her creations are stylized in the shape of unusual flowers and push us to reflect with the addition of collaged sentences in her works. Her inspiration is nourished by her emotions and her environement composed of common objects. Her works, much like poetry, speak to us about a world of softness, serenity and reflexion. Her medium is acrylic, which she works using gel, pastes and paper. Texture, colors and light are the essential elements of her pallet of creation.

"I express my art through acrylic, watercolour, drawing, pastel and other mixed media. I surrender my rational side by leaving the right hemisphere of my brain command, thus leaving the intuitive guide my creations. I have always been passionate about artistic expression and horses, this is why they are very present in my works. My inspiration is drawn from nature and its elements, life, the universe and spirituality. I store in my brain all the feelings, images, concepts which inspire me and express my art by multitudes of small syntheses from where the imaginary characterizes my creations. "

At a very young age, the aptitude for drawing determines the personality of Marthe Boisjoly. This directs her to studies which support her creativity. After two years of secondary studies in advertisement drawing, she chooses one collegial year in vestimentary art in the hopes to fill her creative needs. However, she continues her collegial studies in visual art. Thereafter, she worked two years in the equestrian field, because horses are her second great passion.

She then studies in graphic communication at Laval University. She works afterwards as graphic designer and illustrator, that while continuing her study in equestrian art. These last few years she has devoted more and more time to the expression of her art in a more personal context by combining her powerful passion for horses and her impossible to circumvent need for expression by pictorial art.

Chrystel Deschêne is a self-taught artist from the Bas-St-Laurent (Lower Saint-Lawrence region). The desire to transform all that she touches appears early in her childhood, an innate characteristic as one could say. With a philosophical nature, each day is an occasion to perfect her art, to deepen her being… The love and the respect of people are her daily inspirations.

Oil is her main medium but she sometimes adds descrete touches of acrylic to her paintings. She paints mainly symbols and characters. Chrystel Deschêne est Artiste-peintre autodidacte native du Bas-St-Laurent. Le désir de transformer tout ce qu’elle touche apparaît très tôt dans son enfance, une caractéristique que l’on pourrait dire innée. De nature philosophe, chaque jour est pour elle une occasion de parfaire son art, d’approfondir son être… L’amour et le respect des gens sont ses inspirations quotidiennes.

Montreal-based illustrator and painter, Côté derives his inspirations from nostalgic comic books and his experience in the fashion industry, the 20's female being his eternal muse. His next showing will take place in 2008. More to come.

Stéphane Côté was born, as his mom would say, with a pencil in his hand in London, Ontario, in 1975. He cartooned his way into adolescence, when he began to flourish in painting. He was soon showing his work in various Montreal galleries and establishments. After a decade-long hiatus into music and fashion, Côté returned, infused with a colorful new style all his own, strongly tinted with recent life experience. He is preparing his newest unveiling for 2008.

Il passe une dizaine d'années dans l'industrie de la musique et la mode et revint en force au chevalet, au début du millénaire - Son nouveau style est infusé fortement d'expériences récentes. Il nous dévoile sa nouvelle collection au cours de l’année 2008.

The desire to transform all that she touches appears early in her childhood, an innate characteristic as one could say. With a philosophical nature, each day is an occasion to perfect her art, to deepen her being… The love and the respect of people are her daily inspirations.

Oil is her main medium but she sometimes adds descrete touches of acrylic to her paintings. She paints mainly symbols and characters. Her eye and her brushes are irresistibly attracted by bright colors, which according to her, nourish her. Contemporary figurative artist. Born in Sherbrooke.

After 2 trainings in design, it was natural for her to want to emphasize the objects that surround her and interpret them in her own style. In 2003, she took classes at l'Atelier de Peinture la Signature. Strongly inspired by Montreal painter Doris Savard, this was the beginning of a beautiful adventure in a space of creation and artistic freedom.

Her creations are stylized in the shape of unusual flowers and push us to reflect with the addition of collaged sentences in her works. Her inspiration is nourished by her emotions and her environement composed of common objects. Her works, much like poetry, speak to us about a world of softness, serenity and reflexion. Her medium is acrylic, which she works using gel, pastes and paper. Texture, colors and light are the essential elements of her pallet of creation.

Après 2 formations en Design, ce fût un cheminement naturel pour elle que de vouloir mettre les objets qu'elle côtoie en valeur et de les interpréter à sa manière tout en les stylisant. En 2003, elle suit des cours à l'Atelier de peinture la Signature. Fortement inspirée par la Peintre Montréalaise Doris Savard, c'est le début d'une belle aventure dans l'espace de la création et de la liberté artistique.

Ses créations stylisées en forme de fleurs inhabituelles nous poussent à une certaine réflexion par l'ajout de phrases insérées dans ses toiles. Son inspiration se nourrit des émotions qui l'habitent et de son environement qui est composé d'objets du quotidien. Ses oeuvres nous parlent d'une poésie dégageant un monde de douceur, de sérénité et de réflexion. Son médium est l'acrylique qu'elle façonne à l'aide de gels, pâtes et de papiers. La texture, les couleurs et la lumière sont les éléments essentiels de sa palette de création.

Montreal-based illustrator and painter, Côté derives his inspirations from nostalgic comic books and his experience in the fashion industry, the 20's female being his eternal muse. Stéphane Côté was born, as his mom would say, with a pencil in his hand in London, Ontario, in 1975. He cartooned his way into adolescence, when he began to flourish in painting. He was soon showing his work in various Montreal galleries and establishments. After a decade-long hiatus into music and fashion, Côté returned, infused with a colorful new style all his own, strongly tinted with recent life experience. He is preparing his newest unveiling for 2008.

Il passe une dizaine d'années dans l'industrie de la musique et la mode et revint en force au chevalet, au début du millénaire - Son nouveau style est infusé fortement d'expériences récentes. "I express my art through acrylic, watercolour, drawing, pastel and other mixed media. I surrender my rational side by leaving the right hemisphere of my brain command, thus leaving the intuitive guide my creations. I have always been passionate about artistic expression and horses, this is why they are very present in my works. My inspiration is drawn from nature and its elements, life, the universe and spirituality. I store in my brain all the feelings, images, concepts which inspire me and express my art by multitudes of small syntheses from where the imaginary characterizes my creations. "

At a very young age, the aptitude for drawing determines the personality of Marthe Boisjoly. This directs her to studies which support her creativity. After two years of secondary studies in advertisement drawing, she chooses one collegial year in vestimentary art in the hopes to fill her creative needs. However, she continues her collegial studies in visual art. Thereafter, she worked two years in the equestrian field, because horses are her second great passion.

She then studies in graphic communication at Laval University. She works afterwards as graphic designer and illustrator, that while continuing her study in equestrian art. These last few years she has devoted more and more time to the expression of her art in a more personal context by combining her powerful passion for horses and her impossible to circumvent need for expression by pictorial art.

"Créateur injuste et romanesque, illustrant tous ces personnages rencontrés, détestés, passionnants, intrigants et inspirants. Je suis un enfant de l'aire du Verseau, iconophage et libre. Adulte de cette société du Nord, défiant les lois comme un enfant roi. J’ai pendant près de dix ans sillonné ces ruelles du Canada de l'Atlantique au Pacifique. La peinture est ce besoin qui coule dans mes veines nuits et jours, l’oxygène qui me permet de recréer cette vie sans répit, d'ombres et lumières, de brûlures et d’amour.
