Measurements are about 5 3/4" X 8"

The binding is intact and no pages are lose.
You can flip through the pages easily.

Philo Vance also appeared in a popular radio show.

The author passed away suddenly in 1939 after finishing his last case for Philo.

Whiting and Davis Co. Gold Mesh Wallet

This is an authentic Whiting & Davis Co. mesh wallet.
The Whiting and Davis Company is the oldest purse company in the US and is responsible for a great variety of exceptional mesh purses as well as other accessories. Originally a jewelry company, they produced many mesh bags from the late 1800's to the present day.

The wallet measures 3" X 8" and features four pockets.
One snap pocket for change. One full pocket and two small card pockets.
There is a snag in the fabric inside the wallet. (minor)
Some of the mesh has a tarnish but looks like they would clean up with a little work.
I am guessing somewhere from 1930's to 1950's. I could be wrong. Maybe older.
It is in very good condition other than the fore mentioned defects.
(see tarnish on bottom left corner in 1st pic)

This clutch is in great shape. Not that cheapo imitation bag you would find at a Fashion Bug. Slight old smell and some wear to the mouth. To be expected of any old bag.
Not sure how old, but I would bet 40's or 50's. Maybe older? These mesh purses are amazing and are still produced after 100 years plus. Hand this lovely heirloom down to your loved ones some day.

Vera Neumann Scarf

This is a beautiful scarf. It is a purplish color. Bold floral design with the Vera logo in the corner. I think it is from the 80's. Great design from the "Queen of Mod".

Vera began designing textiles in 1946 after she and her husband, George Neumann founded Printex along with partner Werner Hamm. They produced textiles.
After WWII, army surplus silk which had been used for parachutes, became available at cheap prices. Printex started buying it, and soon they were in the scarf business, making the items in their Manhattan apartment where Vera and George handled the entire operation. In 1948, the business had out-grown the loft and was moved from Manhattan to Ossining, NY. The Neumans bought an old mansion which was converted into her studio and factory.
After George died in the 60's, Vera sold the business to Manhattan Industries, one of the clothing manufacturing giants. In the 70's designer Perry Ellis came to work for Vera before later starting his own clothing designs. Vera worked nearly up to her death in 1993. Vera scarves continued to be made after her death, and today the trademark is owned by The Vera Company of Atlanta, GA.

Measures 53" long by 10" wide.

It has been folded up for a while and has creases.
Not sure of the care and cleaning of this material.
It does have a small run/snag almost in the middle.
Still gorgeous.

Very primitive bowl indeed.
Crazing, cracking and chipping oh my! Not really chips, more like beauty marks from the maker. I would say turn of the century, if you are a yellow ware collector you may know more than I. Still gorgeous after all these years.
I love these old bowls.Full of decades of character. How many different delectable deserts were mixed in this baby. They can be quite collectible. I can't remember the info I discovered on this particular piece. There is no maker on it, but the stripes can be distinguishing along with the color of the bowl itself. Could be a rare piece?

It is about 10" in diameter.
*NOTE: The glaze is deteriorating on the inside and should probably not be used for mixing food. From what I remember about these lovelies, the glaze has LEAD in it. (maybe)

I was surprised to find that Minolta no longer makes cameras. This vintage gem looks just as it did in 1979. Many people are still using these. This sophisticated view finder camera uses 100 or 400 speed film. It has a built in flash, aperture and distance settings, and a telephoto lens. The flash pops out when switched on and uses 1 AA battery. The distance scale illuminates when the flash is on and there is an audible low light alarm. Also comes with an extra long strap and a black case. (snap broke on case) I did put a battery in it and all systems seem to function. Flash and shutter work. All you need is some film and your in business.

Wow! These babies are OLD!! They have to be over a 100 years old.
I believe they are wedding shoes. They were supposed to go to a museum with a dress that they matched. But were forgotten. The sole is a little over 9" long.
Size 5 maybe?

Made by Eastwood. Very well made. Every similar pair I have found were from the 1800's. They were barely worn. The bows are starting to deteriorate from age.

This tin measures 6 1/2" in diameter and was once the container of a 2 lb. fruitcake from
Manor Bakers in Dallas, Texas.

The top has some scratches in the paint. Very minor dents. Inside has some rust.

This piece is lovely. Full of amazing color and detail. The iridescence dances.
Carnival glass started in the early 1900's and was a cheap alternative to the more expensive craft-made glassware like Tiffany. Unlike the highly skilled creations of luxury iridescent glass, Carnival was made by simply spraying the pressed glass with a chemical "dope."

Not signed or marked and is a little rough around the edges. (minor chips on edge)
The inside of the dish is not flat, its wavy. There are some manufacturing blemishes on the inside also. Still a gorgeous piece. Maybe 70's Fenton?

The Mint Julep, an iced drink consisting of bourbon, mint and a sugar syrup is the traditional beverage of the race. The historic drink can be served in an ice-frosted silver julep cup but most Churchill Downs patrons sip theirs from a souvenir glass printed with all previous Derby winners.

Souvenir tray from historic Virginia City, Montana.
During the Gold Rush this was a booming western town. Home to the likes of Calamity Jane, it currently is a very small town of only a couple hundred people. Rich with history, it was once named Verina and was popular among southern confederates looking for gold.

3-7-77 Vigilantes is the infamous symbol for the Vigilance Committee that was the law in the Old West territories. No one knows what the significance of these numbers are. Many speculations have been made and to this day the Montana Highway Patrol bears these numbers on their shield.

These clip on earrings are so cool. Spring loaded ovals dangle from a small faced clip giving them a pierced effect. They are evidently made of steel, since they are magnetic. There is a brass colored finish or plating over them. (worn off ovals)
Sorta steampunk.

Pair of Vitrified China restaurant coffee cups.
They are very similar, yet completely different.
The Albert Pick cup is very thick. It also has an extra stripe around the bottom. The handle is also different.
The Jackson (top one) has a very similar paint detail, but is a thinner version. It also has a different profile. (more taper)
Both cups are in used condition. Minor scratches. No chips.
Not quite perfect!
Both have an approximate 4" diameter.
Great for the mix and match kitchen.
