My easel faces the window. Outside my window I placed two birdfeeders. Now I am constantly distracted by the birds and squirrels out there cavorting around in the Spring-time sunshine! This BEST PALS story is true . I eventually set a squirrel feeder up under the tree so they won't have to share. It's a wonder I get any painting done fretting over my wild animal pals...

I painted this out of the pain I felt during the Disengagement of 2006 in eretz yisrael. The IDF soldier called to evict his own people from their homes, he takes time in the morning, if nothing else, to wrap tefillin and pray to his God for guidance and courage. The Scripture verse from Ps.125 "As the mountains are around Jerusalem, the L-rd is all around His people, Like Mount Zion in the midst of Jerusalem...we shall not be moved."

This original painting is 8"x8", executed in watercolor and graphite, by myself, artist ellen c. maze

This painting captures the explosion of a young appaloosa eventer as he leaves the start box for the first time. Inspired by real-life events, I met a man at an event who was wrestling with his four-yr-old gelding to get ready for dressage phase. The horse was so excited and uppity, but with exuberance, and joy, not disobedience. He ended up with a crazy dressage score and headed for the cross country course. I got this photo when they BURST forth from the Start Box. BTW, he had a great (if not overtime) first ever cross country experience!

This horse is a snowflake leopard appaloosa, rare and beautiful! I had one that looked just like this about 15 years ago. So lovely!

WHAT YOU'LL GET: this is a original painting, made to order, of my HORSIE LETTERS spelling out your choice of name. To makeit fair for me and you, I have priced this item up to 6 LETTERS. So each individual letter is a special and unique carefully handpainted Horsie.
