I simply loved mixing and carding these colours, all of superfine merino fleeces, and then spinning them!
I named the resulting necklace PURPUREA, for the red, purple and deep hues it's made of... although I added turquoise here and there.
I plied this yarn with another handspun Corriedale petrol blu thread, onto which I inserted a couple of big donut porcelain beads I had bought from Belandariadesigns. etsy.com.
Thin necklace is formed by letting hte yarn twist on itself, so itìs all spiraled up, and then blocked with two more porcelain donuts.

So particular and sophisticated to me!

A virgin forest, that what reminds me this yarn.
I handpainted white scoured wensleydale locks in the shades of light browns and grens, with dome hints of grey and navy spots here and there.
Then I corespun it with a black wool thread leaving long curls hanging and wrapping the others...
The result i incredibly soft and silky, the locks are so shiny and brillinat: PURE LUSH!

It's divided into 2 skeins
total weight: 100 g (3.5 oz)
total length: 46 m (50 yds)
bulky, I'd use 8/9mm needles.

Knitted with on of my recycled and handpainted yarns, this neckwarmer is simple and sophisticated at the same time.

The yarn is quite bulky and very smooth and soft next to skin, so I decided for a pattern that could show all its hues and texture.

Colours vary from light blue to deeper navy, with natural white spots and saddened purples and plum.... quite pastel shades overlapping.

I finished this plain pattern with a big flower shaped button to seal the neckwarmerm made from an unique I-cord.

Lovely, believe it!

I chose this fibre blend and the name when I decided to participate to Etsy Italia Team blog challenge for September, which theme was “create and list something inspired by one of your favourite movies”.
So, I simply love that sweet movie and it is perfectly reflected by this handspun I guess: it’s spun in a subtle thick and thin single ply that let all hues just bright around… gooseberry, laburnum, clementine, teal, lime green and white silk.

Soo chic and soo warm!
I knitted this neckwarmer with a soft handspun yarn - 100% wool - in sage, greyish green colors and a quite openwork pattern.

Couldn't help to ebroider this by weaving through the stitches lengths of lavender mohair and Noro purple silk mountain yarn (yes, the shiny, colorful, awesome Noro!) ... the result is a very cosy and sophisticated effect!
I even added some violet glass beads here and there and inside the buttons that close it.

It's really soft next to skin and so stylish!
About 21 x 46 cm (8.3 x 18")

This batt was originally a great mixture of warm colours and extremely soft wools, therefore the name, though I could have called it hug as well...

I spun it leaving bumps as they came and a chunky texture, in order to keep the shades fading as much as I could.
I knitted this shawl in order to use it as a rich neckwarmer, but also a small shoulder wrap, or a shrug if fixed with a brooch; the pattern is a simple stockinette stitch, with a crocheted border to give the finishing with a fan shape; in this way the shawl can be worn on both the right or the reverse side and the ruffled effect that both ends take on is quite nicer.

Measurements:Approx. 150 x 50 cm (60 x 20 inches) max

Spun from a chunky batt of scandinavian wool fibre.

Seems deep anthracite grey, though it's full of hints of white,red, green and blue, just hidden inside!

I spun it quite thick and then plied and filled of snarls, of different lengths - even 5 cm!

I thought of knitting it into a fuzzy hat or a very particular neckwarmer... you'll get looked at!!!

I made four pieces, spinning a variegated range of fairy coloured merino wool fleece, enriched with angelina and finished with glass beads.

Colours vary from lavender to lilac, with hints of jade and light blue, all plied with elastic thread in super coils.
They're all so soft to skin, like a tiny fairy gently sitting around your neck...

Another juicy handspun yarn!

Yes, because this one resembles a golden orange just cut in half and still full of juice, with all it’s shades of range of course, but also warm yellow, bright red, soft pinks…
I spun this in 2 ply, from a smoothy creamy Cheviot top, and obviously I called it ARANCIATA, orange juice in Italian…and if you just concentrate you can smell it, I’m sure

It’s 70 g (2.47 oz) for a length of 132 m (144.4 yds) in a worsted weight.

It’s pretty soft against the skin, so I guess I’d knit a quite big neckwarmer, to brighten up a collar…

FIREPLACE Hat

This pointed hat was knitted with one of my latest handspun yarns; I spunt it from three different batts, and wanted to let them give a striped effect to the yarn. The colors are some of the warmest possible, different shade between red and yellow, that’s why I had to call it Fireplace…. A hot flame to cover frozen heads in winter!

I knitted the hat all in double garter stitch, and then added a point on top of it, to enhance the movement given by the yarn, and to make it less serious as possible. Actually, I guess there are already many reasons to be sober that a trifling hat may remind us our heads are made also to turn each way round and change our mind…

The size is adult average, I measured it on my head.

A chunky, cosy, handspun yarn!

The fiber comes from Hobbledehoy batt club, so that is a real guarantee of quality to me; it's made of merino, wool nepps and bamboo.
I spun it very thick and thin and then plied with a silvery blue metal thread, so the result is an extremely chunky and stylish yarn. Colours vary from subtle grey, to deep blue, with green, pink, creamy, azure nepps.

I named it NIMBUS, cause it reminds me of thise bulbblish clouds that sometimes hang rain in our skies, doesn't it?

I have 113 g (4oz) divided in 2 skeins, for a total length of 78 m (71.3 yds).
I'd recommend 7/8 mm needles, for a lovely hat or neckwarmer...

Another luxury handspun yarn!

Must admit I can't help it, I just love wool and silk blends!
This is made of superfine merino in different shades of light blue and natural white silk... sooo lushy... all wrapped in a purple/silvery metal thread and adorned with many purplish glass beads.

So ACQUAMARINA, an italian name for aquamarine, the precious gemstone, that reminds me of all the subtle hues this yarn takes under sunlight!

I spun this from scoured Blue Faced Leicester locks I had handpainted and handcarded.
The result is a thick n thin corespun yarn with some sections made of fluffy soft and smooth fiber and some other of shiny and wavy curls...

The name, TROPICO, comes from the varying hues, from bright orange to light and fresh green, with spots of gold, and blue.

MASALA WIRE NECKLACE

The word is versatility.
I made this necklace with one of my handspun, Masala Tweed, that I plied over a very thin copper wire.
I fixed both ends with a silvery carved metal ring. So the result is a thin necklace that you can wrap around your neck and give the shape you prefer!

In the pictures I made a large bow on one side, but actually you can wear it in many different ways, eve as a light belt over a long pullover or a shirt.

The cooper wire emerge here and there from the coils of wool, shimmering in warm shades that exalt the colours of the tweedy yarn.

I WOULD SAY THIS IS A QUITE SOPHISTICATED HANDSPUN YARN
Very chunky and soft, yet full of characters and small particulars inside.
It's made of a smooth merino thick core in a charcoal shade, a red/pink/lilac thin merino ply spiraling on it and a wrapped black thread full of silvery stars.

I named it BRACE that in italian means ember, as I imagined the colours of a fireplace slowly extinguishing, with sparkles here and there....

A DEFINITELY ROMANTIC YARN
I spun this one thinking of spring time, when leaves are bright tender green sprouts and little blossoms appear here and there...

So here comes VIOLET: made of a milky Corriedale core, onto which I wrapped a superfine Merino thin handspun yarn in light green all full of snarls, and inserted many soft lavender fluffy flowers.

A really particular tangled necklace made with one of my handspun yarns, that could even be worn as a thin scarflette.
It's made of a white shiny viscose core, onto which I wrapped a merino yarn in the shades of jade and corn, which is full of natural silk nepps and a couple of golden and turquoise metal threads.
The whole combination of colours reminded me of sand, summer skies and wave foam, therefore the name, ONDE, that in italian actually means waves.

So the yarn was tangled and anchored with knots, and blocked at both edges with a couple of handblown glass beads.

Another curly necklace made with one of my handspun yarns!

It's made mostly of merinos, with sparkle thread and silvery stars bumping in from time to time and changing silk fabric, I spun it very thick and thin full and all coiled up to make it very elastic and curly.

CICLAMINO in italian means cyclamen, as the whole amount of colors I used really reminded me of these lovely pulpy flowers... deep red, bordeaux, gentle lilac and strong violet, all wrapped with a silken strip of fabric changing from red to light blue.
Just imagine to wear a spiralling flower around your neck... and imagine it warm and very soft!

This is a necklace made with one of my handspun yarn; it's made mostly of soft merinos with some angelina sparkles, faux peals hidden somehow and silk fabric.
I spun it very thick and thin and full of coils that get very elastic and curly around your neck.

BOSCO means wood in italian... and in fact this is full of brownfor trees, greens for leaves and sprouts and little natural white pearls for fresh dew. Actually I wanted to create something that could remind of a warm and silent forest to pamper and delight a decolleté
