Great for people in science, biology, nature study, especially women. Two in one: closes to be a card wallet, opens to be a desktop card display! Made of durable wood. Designed for standard business card size, 3.5 by 2inches or 8.8 by 5cm; credit and similar cards are too tall for the holder.

A vibrant mustard yellow background (please note computer monitors often distort color, this color is yellow rather than gold), a hand painted estrogen molecule and bees.

When closed, it's a small case you can carry around. When open, it's a card display for the desk or show. The varnished surface will not get dirty easily. Even if it does, just wipe it with a damp cloth. Bold and chic, it's sure to attract attention and be a conversation starter, helping promote your business. It will also last longer than any fabric card holder.

The wood holder is roomy enough for many cards. It fits about 20 of mine. It stays closed when needed and open when needed without any hardware. To achieve that, the sides are only thinly painted, so it doesn't get stuck. The sides rub against each other so the inside will get worn over time, making it uniquely yours. I painted it with acrylics, applied the design, and covered in layers of acrylic varnish for protection. It's lightweight and shapely; feels great to hold in the hand.

Full Art Nouveau glory: dragonflies hover over dramatic-looking flowers. Look, one got out of the box! This is an authentic Art Nouveau pattern I found while browsing a museum collection. I then chose the rich honey gold muslin and a combination of white and chocolate brown as embroidery colors. It may be an inspiration for your autumn harvest party.

It was hand embroidered by my Mother, who has practiced the craft for 30+ years. I, in turn, hand painted the hoop tarnished gold color, backed the fabric with acid free cardstock and hand finished the back.

This style of embroidery is called English eyelet. Holes are poked in the fabric and then stitched around, creating a peekaboo pattern. It was hand embroidered by my Mother, who has practiced the craft for 30+ years. I, in turn, designed the color scheme and framed the piece in a wood hoop that I first painted a dove gray hue and varnished.

The result is a beautiful combination of the soft shapes, colors, and frame.

SALE Poppy Fields pine wood picture frame in dusty blue

Simple colors, ornate pattern. The floral border of stylized poppies is a copy from a 1897 decorator book, nouveau with hints of early deco. The solid wood frame is sanded and primed smooth, then handpainted with a custom mixed color of slate/ cadet blue. I added some understated sheen in silver paint stripes that run along the floral border (see angle photos).

Originally $25. I am discontinuing frames and boxes in this shop and putting them on clearance.

The frame is solid wood, 8x8” (20x20cm) square with the opening of 3.5x3.5” (8.5x8.5cm). No glass in the opening. The sides are a hefty 0.5” also decorated; the back is the same blue color. It is covered (front, back and all) with acrylic varnish. The front has multiple layers of the varnish to make it water-resistant and smooth. Scratch resistant: nothing will peel off. Dowel stand included.

SHIPPING is the most reasonable option available. I refund overage, save $1 handing.

The classic wallpaper style floral pattern carries some reddish brown accents and composes beautifully with the old brick color of the pattern above it. Other design elements recall old letters often hidden behind the one loose brick by secret lovers.

The frame is 9x7 inches with a 4x6 off-center opening (in centimeters, respectively 23x18 and 9x14). Glass included.
The frame is made of MDF and has an easelback.

The decoupaged design wraps around the sides, and the back is hand painted in swirls of natural flax color. Everything is then covered with layers of nontoxic acrylic varnish for protection. It is scratch resistant and will not yellow. It will also not peel off unless you purposely make it so.

This refurbished frame holds a 4x6” (14.5x9.5cm) photo behind glass. It’s thick and heavy and it has an easel back and hooks for hanging (see photo of the back). It’s face is convex and painted in sandy-turquoise-brown colors. Decoupaged are images of starfish, shells, etc. The front has multiple layers of the varnish to make it water-resistant and to hide any seams till they almost disappear to the touch. The sides and back are left as they were, in brushed silvery-gold.

A marine biology inspired handmade fiber pin, strong enough to hold up a chunky scarf.

So graceful and delicate, carried by the ebb and flow of the sea, a glistening jellyfish

The embroidery has been done by my Mother, partly using gorgeously yet subtly shining metallic floss.

Next, I wrapped the embroidered fabric over a disc of thick Strathmore Linen Canvas archival art paper, padding the underside with unbleached cotton fill so the look is slightly pillowy. Finally, I hand stitched the embroidered disc to a felt backing that I had first reinforced with interfacing and applied a brooch pin. A lot of quality work went into creating this brooch.

Old World farmers used to plant single apple and pear trees among fields. They provided shade and a snack in the heat of mid day. They still dot the landscape in areas where agriculture is less industrialized.

This is my original design (please do not copy, copyright February 2009)). It was hand embroidered by my Mother, who has practiced the craft for 30+ years. I, in turn, backed the fabric with acid free cardstock, hand finished the back side (we believe both the front and the back should be presentable) and carefully put everything together.

The artwork is done on fine linen and placed in a woodgrain patterned embroidery hoop that has a loop for hanging. The purpose of the cardstock backing is to prevent the color of your wall from showing through and distorting the colors of the piece.

No glue was used, so the piece is washable; you'd just need to cut one thread on the back.

Closes to be a card wallet, opens to be a desktop card display! Made of durable wood. Designed for standard card size, 3.5 by 2inches or 8.8 by 5cm; credit and similar cards are too tall for the holder.

A vibrant turquoise background and a silhouette of a peacock feather, painted over a stamp in metallic copper and teal. Fitting for people in arts, literature, those born in December (light blue stones like turquoise and blue topaz are their birthstones).

When closed, it's a small case you can carry around. When open, it's a card display for the desk or show. The varnished surface will not get dirty easily. Even if it does, just wipe it with a damp cloth. Bold and chic, it's sure to attract attention and be a conversation starter, helping promote your business. It will also last longer than any fabric card holder.

The wood holder is roomy enough for many cards. It fits about 20 of mine. It stays closed when needed and open when needed without any hardware. A vintage illustration on bright geometric background. A cheer up, brighten up piece. I edited it to add its signature "wink."

I applied the illustration onto a solid pine plaque that I painted teal blue color and highlighted with silver paint. Then, I covered everything with several layers of varnish so it's scratch resistant. It will not peel off or yellow. It hangs on a sawtooth hanger.

It's small so it fits in tight spaces where you may need it most: a cubicle, side of the bookcase, the narrowest strip of wall. The plaque is 3 1/4 by 5 1/4 in (8x13 cm) and the image area is 2 1/4 by 4 1/4 in (5.5x11 cm).

This gorgeous piece is fully hand embroidered by my Mother, who has practiced the craft for 30+ years. A masterful combination of stitching and cutout, it took over 20 work hours to create. No machine touched it. The "wrong" side is finished as meticulously as the right one (see photo) so there will be no running threads or fraying. This is an instant heirloom, likely to last generations.

"PLUMS AND PEARS" is a part of a set of 3 ("Plums" and "Pears", each on a different piece, are listed below).

Hand wash recommended. It is currently starched and ironed so it maintains shape very well. I will ship in a tube to avoid creasing so it will be ready to display.

Dimensions: 12x15 inches (30x38cm). Made of European 100% flax linen.

IDEAS FOR USE:
In addition to the obvious, it works great as a WALL HANGING when placed in a frame against a contrasting background (e.g., black). You could add something in the center, like a photo or another keepsake object and make it into a unique frame. A WINDOW HANGING is another idea, since both sides are beautifully finished. Pink linen and chocolate brown Victorian style frames: this handmade pair is great for a cottage style interior.

So graceful and delicate, carried by the ebb and flow of the sea, a glistening jellyfish.

The embroidery, partly using gorgeously yet subtly shining metallic floss, has been done by my Mother. Next, I wrapped the embroidered fabric over a disc of thick Strathmore Linen Canvas archival art paper, padding the underside with unbleached cotton fill so the look is slightly pillowy. Finally, I hand stitched the embroidered disc to a felt backing that I had first reinforced with interfacing and applied a brooch pin. A lot of quality work went into creating this brooch.

Even wild birds can be tamed sometimes.
This is an exceptional, one of a kind piece. Called cutwork embroidery, elements of the fabric are first stitched around and then cut out creating a lacy design full of shadow play.

It was hand embroidered by my Mother, who has practiced the craft for 30+ years. I, in turn, hand painted the unique oval hoop white, varnished, and backed it with acid free black cardstock. The backing is the width of the hoop away from the fabric, allowing for the cutwork to stand out. Black also prevents the shadows from distorting the clarity of the image, and the color of your wall from peeking through.

Dimensions, frame included: 9 1/2 by 5 1/4 in (24x13.5cm).
Colors: deep burgundy red, white

A little bird perching on a berry branch. This mini fiber art is completely and lovingly hand stitched and finished. Uses include a tabletop centerpiece element, small wall hanging, Christmas tree ornament, lapel brooch or scarf pin.

Soft, lightweight fiber art, excellent for interiors designed with nature in mind. The bird motif is hand embroidered in gold on chocolate brown linen, and framed in a wood hoop I hand painted gold.

It was hand embroidered by my Mother, who has practiced the craft for 30+ years. I, in turn, hand painted the hoop , varnished it, backed the fabric with acid free cardstock and carefully put everything together.

The result is a tiny art piece. The hoop is designed to hang on the wall, and it will look best in uncluttered settings: on that strip of wall between two closely set doors, over a side table or nightstand.

Art Nouveau pattern, cottage style pink, lovely handmade addition to home decor. Originally $30. This is a perfect quality item, discounted to make room for new ones.

Another of my Art Nouveau museum pattern finds, and I called it "Tree of Hope": the tree barely manages to hang on in the wind, yet explodes in gorgeous blossom: very inspiring! The wood oval frame I hand painted in burgundy and white enhances the bohemian feel - no sharp corners here.

It was hand embroidered by my Mother, who has practiced the craft for 30+ years. I, in turn, backed the fabric with acid free cardstock, and placed it in my hand decorated frame. The frame has two dowels for standing and I will also add a small sawtooth hanger on top. Highly reflective gloss finish.

IDEAS FOR USE: it's a unique "brag" art. Hang it in the powder room for the guests to see. It's lightweight enough to go on your cubicle wall. Great on a classically furnished mantel.

I am often inspired by Medieval manuscript illumination, and this is my take on the old fashioned pansy as often depicted on the margins of old texts. The quote I added in blue calligraphy ink comes from "Hamlet" and it is done with a stylus.

The work is painted in acrylics on hand-distressed Strathmore "linen canvas" paper, very thick and durable, 240lb. It is signed and dated on the back.

Beautiful decor for any room, especially children's, this frame features a vintage wallpaper style floral pattern and fresh colors. I hand painted the wren image as a touch of whimsy. The main color is pear green.

Originally $20.

The frame is solid wood, 8x8” (20x20cm) square with the opening of 3.5x3.5” (8.5x8.5cm). I decoupaged the decorative floral pattern on the face of the frame. The sides are a hefty 0.5”, ivory. The back is also ivory. It is covered (front, back and all) with acrylic varnish. The front has multiple layers of the varnish to make it water-resistant and smooth. Scratch resistant: nothing will peel off. Dowel stand and a sawtooth hanger included. Glass not included.

All non-toxic, child safe materials.
