Business card holder and display Estrogen

$25.00
Great for people in science, biology, nature study, especially women. Two in one: closes to be a card wallet, opens to be a desktop card display! Made of durable wood. Designed for standard business card size, 3.5 by 2inches or 8.8 by 5cm; credit and similar cards are too tall for the holder.

A vibrant mustard yellow background (please note computer monitors often distort color, this color is yellow rather than gold), a hand painted estrogen molecule and bees.

When closed, it's a small case you can carry around. When open, it's a card display for the desk or show. The varnished surface will not get dirty easily. Even if it does, just wipe it with a damp cloth. Bold and chic, it's sure to attract attention and be a conversation starter, helping promote your business. It will also last longer than any fabric card holder.

The wood holder is roomy enough for many cards. It fits about 20 of mine. It stays closed when needed and open when needed without any hardware. To achieve that, the sides are only thinly painted, so it doesn't get stuck. The sides rub against each other so the inside will get worn over time, making it uniquely yours. I painted it with acrylics, applied the design, and covered in layers of acrylic varnish for protection. It's lightweight and shapely; feels great to hold in the hand.

Enjoy!
I refund shipping overcharged by more than $1.

Hand embroidered fiber wall art Dragonflies and Thistles

$60.00
Full Art Nouveau glory: dragonflies hover over dramatic-looking flowers. Look, one got out of the box! This is an authentic Art Nouveau pattern I found while browsing a museum collection. I then chose the rich honey gold muslin and a combination of white and chocolate brown as embroidery colors. It may be an inspiration for your autumn harvest party.

It was hand embroidered by my Mother, who has practiced the craft for 30+ years. I, in turn, hand painted the hoop tarnished gold color, backed the fabric with acid free cardstock and hand finished the back.

Dimensions: 8x10 in (21x26 cm).

SHIPPING: I will ship the piece carefully wrapped and backed to protect it from moisture and damage, Priority flat rate envelope in the US. International shipping is Priority because only this shipping form allows to add insurance. Priority shipping to Australia, for example, is exactly $26.50 for this item. If it comes to less for your country, I'll refund shipping overage minus $1 handling.
Hand embroidered framed floral motif Champagne

$35.00
An inspiring piece, with hints of departing summer in the salmon color linen, and whispers of first frosty nights in the subtle gray of the flowers and hoop. Fiber art absorbs sound, eliminating unpleasant echo and adding to the cozy feel, so it makes for a great addition to a bedroom decor.

This style of embroidery is called English eyelet. Holes are poked in the fabric and then stitched around, creating a peekaboo pattern. It was hand embroidered by my Mother, who has practiced the craft for 30+ years. I, in turn, designed the color scheme and framed the piece in a wood hoop that I first painted a dove gray hue and varnished.

The result is a beautiful combination of the soft shapes, colors, and frame.

Dimensions, frame included: 7.5in/ 19 cm in diameter.

I will ship First Class (International). I refund shipping overage -$1 handling.

Thank you for visiting!

I framed him in a wood hoop I left its natural wheat color, and added a leafy scroll in brown all around. What a treat!

This is my original design, drawn from nature. Please do not copy.

He was hand embroidered by my Mother, who has practiced the craft for 30+ years. I designed and then framed the work, backing it with white cardstock to prevent the color of your wall from distorting the colors of the piece.

He will look wonderful over a side table or a nightstand.

Dimensions, frame included: 5 1/4in/ 13.5 cm in diameter.
Colors: peach variegated linen, cinnamon brown

I will ship the item carefully wrapped and backed to protect them from moisture and damage, First Class (International).

$16.00
An ornament that doubles as a perfect Christmas corsage, this pin features a hand embroidered stylized peacock on burgundy red background with silver metallic highlights that really light up in the sun or indoor light.

The embroidery has been done by my Mother, based on my original design. Next, I wrapped the embroidered fabric over a disc of thick Strathmore Linen Canvas archival art paper, padding the underside with unbleached cotton fill so the look is slightly pillowy. Finally, I hand stitched the embroidered disc to a felt backing that I had first reinforced with interfacing and applied a chrome pin and satin ribbon. A lot of quality work went into creating this piece.

Dimensions: 3.5 inch (9cm) in diameter, that includes the felt frame
Colors: burgundy red cotton, rose and metallic silver floss, gray felt, red ribbon

Spot clean only, gently brush off dust or use a pet sticky roll to clean. Please read the SPECIAL RETURNS POLICY on brooches in my shop policies that restricts refunds and returns to certain conditions being met.

I will ship in a stiff jewelry grade box and a Ziploc bag for protection from moisture, First Class or First Class International. Combined international purchases of $50 or over need to go insured Priority mail. Photo props not included.

The floral border of stylized poppies is a copy from a 1897 decorator book, nouveau with hints of early deco. The solid wood frame is sanded and primed smooth, then handpainted with a custom mixed color of slate/ cadet blue. I added some understated sheen in silver paint stripes that run along the floral border (see angle photos).

Originally $25. I am discontinuing frames and boxes in this shop and putting them on clearance.

The frame is solid wood, 8x8” (20x20cm) square with the opening of 3.5x3.5” (8.5x8.5cm). No glass in the opening. The sides are a hefty 0.5” also decorated; the back is the same blue color. It is covered (front, back and all) with acrylic varnish. The front has multiple layers of the varnish to make it water-resistant and smooth. Scratch resistant: nothing will peel off. Dowel stand included.

SHIPPING is the most reasonable option available. I refund overage, save $1 handing.
I am discontinuing frames and boxes in this shop and putting them on clearance.

The frame is 9x7 inches with a 4x6 off-center opening (in centimeters, respectively 23x18 and 9x14). Glass included.
The frame is made of MDF and has an easelback.

The decoupaged design wraps around the sides, and the back is hand painted in swirls of natural flax color. Everything is then covered with layers of nontoxic acrylic varnish for protection. It is scratch resistant and will not yellow. It will also not peel off unless you purposely make it so.

SHIPPING is the most reasonable option available. I refund overage, save $1 handing.

Thank you for visiting!

I then chose the natural flax linen and a combination of deep purple and muted orange as embroidery colors.

It was hand embroidered by my Mother, who has practiced the craft for 30+ years. I, in turn, hand painted the hoop tarnished gold color, varnished (gloss), backed the fabric with acid free cardstock and carefully put everything together.

Dimensions, frame included: 5 1/2in (14 cm) in diameter.

I will ship the item carefully wrapped and backed to protect it from moisture and damage, First Class (International). I refund shipping overage -$1 handling.

Thank you for visiting!
Originally $35

An ode to all green thumbs out there. Place it close to the door that leads to the garden as a gentle reminder to water. It will also look great in a grouping among house plants. A great housewarming gift.

Artist's Own Pattern (AOP) - please do not copy. This is my original design, not based on any commercial or found pattern. The piece was hand embroidered by my Mother, who has practiced the craft for 30+ years. I, in turn, backed the fabric with acid free cardstock and framed it.

The artwork is done on linen fabric and placed in a natural wood wheat colored embroidery hoop.

$16.00
A little bird perching on a berry branch. This brooch is completely and lovingly hand stitched and finished.

The embroidery has been done by my Mother, based on my favorite original design, repeated on items throughout our shop. Stitched on pearl-like beads add sheen and dimension.

Next, I wrapped the embroidered fabric over a disc of thick Strathmore Linen Canvas archival art paper, padding the underside with unbleached cotton fill so the look is slightly pillowy. Finally, I hand stitched the embroidered disc to a felt backing that I had first reinforced with interfacing and applied a brooch pin. A lot of quality work went into creating this brooch.

DIMENSIONS: 3.5 inch (9cm) in diameter, that includes the felt frame
COLORS: grayish blue, white and deep purple floss, beige felt, pearl and cocoa colored beads.

We made only 2 of this style. Due to limited material availability, especially the exact color of felt, we most likely won’t be able to recreate or customize this style, but please convo for more information.
Peacock Feather hand embroidered original fiber wall art

$60.00
A modern Bohemian stunner: a single charcoal gray peacock feather on mint green linen with silver accents, framed in a round hoop. Organic flow, no sharp corners here.

Artist's Own Pattern - please do not copy. This is my original design, not based on any commercial or found pattern. The piece was hand embroidered by my Mother, who has practiced the craft for 30+ years. I, in turn, backed the fabric with acid free cardstock, and framed the piece in a hoop I had first hand painted with pearlescent white (not brocade!) paint for a subtle sheen, then varnished.

The artwork is done on linen and placed in a wood embroidery hoop. The purpose of the cardstock backing is to prevent the color of your wall from showing through and distorting the colors of the piece. I always try to match the cardstock color with the fabric color to better enhance it.

Dimensions, frame included: 8 1/4in in diameter (21 cm).

Colors: mint green, charcoal gray (almost black), silver gray. The eye is made with high sheen satin floss; I did not alter the photos, it really shines like this.

I will ship the piece carefully wrapped and backed to protect it from moisture and damage, insured First Class or insured Priority International. I refund shipping overage minus $1 handling.

Thank you for visiting!

They provided shade and a snack in the heat of mid day. They still dot the landscape in areas where agriculture is less industrialized.

This piece was featured by Apartment Therapy and numerous times on the Front Page of Etsy.

This is the first of the planned four seasons. ATTENTION, FANS OF THIS PIECE: "SUMMER" and "AUTUMN" are also available in shop. "Winter" is coming in late September. Find them all in this section:
http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5670064§ion_id=6229147

This is my original design (please do not copy, copyright February 2009)). It was hand embroidered by my Mother, who has practiced the craft for 30+ years. I, in turn, backed the fabric with acid free cardstock, hand finished the back side (we believe both the front and the back should be presentable) and carefully put everything together.

The artwork is done on fine linen and placed in a woodgrain patterned embroidery hoop that has a loop for hanging. The purpose of the cardstock backing is to prevent the color of your wall from showing through and distorting the colors of the piece.

No glue was used, so the piece is washable; you'd just need to cut one thread on the back.

Dimensions, frame included: 7.5in in diameter (19.5 cm)

SHIPPING: I will ship the piece carefully wrapped and backed to protect it from moisture and damage, Priority flat rate envelope in the US.
Business card holder and display Peacock Feather

$25.00
Closes to be a card wallet, opens to be a desktop card display! Made of durable wood. Designed for standard card size, 3.5 by 2inches or 8.8 by 5cm; credit and similar cards are too tall for the holder.

A vibrant turquoise background and a silhouette of a peacock feather, painted over a stamp in metallic copper and teal. Fitting for people in arts, literature, those born in December (light blue stones like turquoise and blue topaz are their birthstones).

A cheer up, brighten up piece. I edited it to add its signature "wink."

I applied the illustration onto a solid pine plaque that I painted teal blue color and highlighted with silver paint.
$120.00
This gorgeous piece is fully hand embroidered by my Mother, who has practiced the craft for 30+ years. A masterful combination of stitching and cutout, it took over 20 work hours to create. No machine touched it. The "wrong" side is finished as meticulously as the right one (see photo) so there will be no running threads or fraying. This is an instant heirloom, likely to last generations.

"PLUMS AND PEARS" is a part of a set of 3 ("Plums" and "Pears", each on a different piece, are listed below).

Hand wash recommended. It is currently starched and ironed so it maintains shape very well. I will ship in a tube to avoid creasing so it will be ready to display.

Dimensions: 12x15 inches (30x38cm). Made of European 100% flax linen.

IDEAS FOR USE:
In addition to the obvious, it works great as a WALL HANGING when placed in a frame against a contrasting background (e.g., black). You could add something in the center, like a photo or another keepsake object and make it into a unique frame. A WINDOW HANGING is another idea, since both sides are beautifully finished. It could be a semi-see through spring and summertime window embellishment. It can also be stitched onto a decorative PILLOW.

Enjoy!

This pin that doubles as ornament or mini wall art is completely hand stitched and finished.

The embroidery has been done by my Mother, based on my original design, (Artist's Own Pattern, copyright July 2009, do not copy).

DIMENSIONS: 3.5 inch (9cm) in diameter, that includes the felt frame
COLORS: light gray linen, white and burgundy floss, white felt, white ribbon.

Finally, I hand stitched the embroidered disc to a felt backing that I had first reinforced with interfacing and applied a chrome pin and satin ribbon.

Dimensions: 3.5 inch (9cm) in diameter, that includes the felt frame
Colors: deep red fabric, merlot floss for the web, light gray (not white!) floss for the spider and fly, dark gray felt backing, red ribbon

Perfect, lightweight, tiny art pieces, great to brighten up dull cubicles and walls seemingly too small to hang anything on. Try them in a vertical arrangement between two closely set doors!

The two motifs are elements of traditional folk embroidery of Kaszuby (Kassubia) region or northern Poland. A masterful combination of stitching and cutout, it took over 20 work hours to create. No machine touched it. The "wrong" side is finished as meticulously as the right one (see photo) so there will be no running threads or fraying. This is an instant heirloom, likely to last generations.

"PEARS" is a part of a set of 3 ("Plums", already listed, and a combination piece with both fruit; come back soon to view it).

Hand wash recommended. It is currently starched and ironed so it maintains shape very well. I will ship in a tube to avoid creasing so it will be ready to display.

Dimensions: 10x15 inches (25x38cm).

Enjoy!

I, in turn, hand painted the frames, varnished them for a high gloss finish, backed the fabric with acid free paper and carefully put everything together.

The result is a beautiful combination of the bold shapes with Victorian ornate frames. They look wonderful next to a flower vase on a mantel, side table, or a bookshelf.

This listing is for both.

Dimensions of the items, frames included: 3.5 by 4.5in (9x11 cm)
Colors: strawberry pink, chocolate brown, deep purple, tarnished gold.

These items will ship First Class (International). They ust ship in a box rather than a bubble mailer because the frames may crack in transport. I refund shipping overage -$1 handling.

Thank you for visiting!

Firebird, Tamed hand embroidered wall art

$50.00
Even wild birds can be tamed sometimes.
This is an exceptional, one of a kind piece. Called cutwork embroidery, elements of the fabric are first stitched around and then cut out creating a lacy design full of shadow play.

It was hand embroidered by my Mother, who has practiced the craft for 30+ years. I, in turn, hand painted the unique oval hoop white, varnished, and backed it with acid free black cardstock. The backing is the width of the hoop away from the fabric, allowing for the cutwork to stand out. Black also prevents the shadows from distorting the clarity of the image, and the color of your wall from peeking through.

Dimensions, frame included: 9 1/2 by 5 1/4 in (24x13.5cm).
Colors: deep burgundy red, white

I will ship the item carefully wrapped and backed to protect it from moisture and damage, First Class or insured Priority International. I refund shipping overage save $1 handling.

This mini fiber art is completely and lovingly hand stitched and finished. Uses include a tabletop centerpiece element, small wall hanging, Christmas tree ornament, lapel brooch or scarf pin.
The embroidery has been done by my Mother, based on my original design. Stitched on pearl-like beads add sheen and dimension.

Next, I wrapped the embroidered fabric over a disc of thick Strathmore Linen Canvas archival art paper, padding the underside with unbleached cotton fill so the look is slightly pillowy. Finally, I hand stitched the embroidered disc to a felt backing that I had first reinforced with interfacing and applied a chrome pin and satin ribbon.

DIMENSIONS: 3.5 inch (9cm) in diameter, that includes the felt frame

COLORS: powder blue, white and deep purple floss, beige felt, pearl and cocoa colored beads, cream ribbon

The bird motif is hand embroidered in gold on chocolate brown linen, and framed in a wood hoop I hand painted gold.

It was hand embroidered by my Mother, who has practiced the craft for 30+ years. I, in turn, hand painted the hoop , varnished it, backed the fabric with acid free cardstock and carefully put everything together.

The result is a tiny art piece. The hoop is designed to hang on the wall, and it will look best in uncluttered settings: on that strip of wall between two closely set doors, over a side table or nightstand.

Dimensions, frame included: 4.5in/ 11 cm in diameter.

I will ship the item carefully wrapped and backed to protect it from moisture and damage, First Class (International), within 48 hours of payment. I refund shipping overage -$1 handling.

Thank you for visiting!

Business card holder and display Lavender

$25.00
Closes to be a card wallet, opens to be a desktop card display! Made of durable wood. Designed for standard card size, 3.5 by 2inches or 8.8 by 5cm; credit and similar cards are too tall for the holder.

A muted lavender purple and prairie style green herb silhouettes. Great for those who love simplicity, calm, and zen. Fitting for health care, beauty, and even "slow food" industries.

Decorative wall art Tree of Hope hand embroidered

$25.00
Art Nouveau pattern, cottage style pink, lovely handmade addition to home decor. Originally $30. This is a perfect quality item, discounted to make room for new ones.

Another of my Art Nouveau museum pattern finds, and I called it "Tree of Hope": the tree barely manages to hang on in the wind, yet explodes in gorgeous blossom: very inspiring! The wood oval frame I hand painted in burgundy and white enhances the bohemian feel - no sharp corners here.

It was hand embroidered by my Mother, who has practiced the craft for 30+ years. I, in turn, backed the fabric with acid free cardstock, and placed it in my hand decorated frame. The frame has two dowels for standing and I will also add a small sawtooth hanger on top. Highly reflective gloss finish.

IDEAS FOR USE: it's a unique "brag" art. Hang it in the powder room for the guests to see. It's lightweight enough to go on your cubicle wall. Great on a classically furnished mantel.

Dimensions, frame included: 8.5 by 6.5 in (21.5x16cm).

I will ship the item carefully wrapped and backed to protect it from moisture and damage, Priority flat rate or First Class International.

Thank you for visiting!
More information about the region: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kashubians

They were hand embroidered by my Mother, who has practiced the craft for 30+ years. I, in turn, designed the color scheme, backed the fabric with acid free watercolor paper, making them into regulation size ACEOs (2.5 by 3.5). They are titled, signed and dated on the back. I framed the pieces in aluminum frames. With frame, each is 3.5 by 4.5 in (8.5 by 11 cm).

This listing is for both.
Colors: white, maroon red, avocado green, black.

I will ship the items carefully wrapped and backed to protect them from moisture and damage, First Class. Next, I wrapped the embroidered fabric over an oval of thick Strathmore Linen Canvas archival art paper, padding the underside with unbleached cotton fill so the look is slightly pillowy. Finally, I hand stitched the embroidered oval to a felt backing that I had first reinforced with interfacing and applied a brooch pin. A lot of quality work went into creating this brooch.

Dimensions: 3.5 by 2 3/4 inch (9x6.5 cm) in diameter, that includes the felt frame
Colors: natural beige linen, brown floss, brown felt

Spot clean only, gently brush off dust or use a pet sticky roll to clean. Please read the SPECIAL RETURNS POLICY on brooches in my shop policies that restricts refunds and returns to certain conditions being met.

I will ship in a stiff jewelry grade box and a Ziploc bag for protection from moisture, First Class or First Class International. Combined international purchases of $50 or over need to go insured Priority mail. Photo props not included.

We made only 2 of this style. Due to limited material availability, especially the exact color of felt, we most likely won’t be able to recreate or customize this style, but please convo for more information.
The quote I added in blue calligraphy ink comes from "Hamlet" and it is done with a stylus.

The work is painted in acrylics on hand-distressed Strathmore "linen canvas" paper, very thick and durable, 240lb. It is signed and dated on the back.

Size: 5x7 inches (13x18 cm).

I will add all necessary protective packaging.

Please find also my Rose Illuminated to match.
Little Wren picture frame with a bird silhouette SALE

$15.00
Beautiful decor for any room, especially children's, this frame features a vintage wallpaper style floral pattern and fresh colors. I hand painted the wren image as a touch of whimsy. The main color is pear green.

Originally $20.

The frame is solid wood, 8x8” (20x20cm) square with the opening of 3.5x3.5” (8.5x8.5cm). I decoupaged the decorative floral pattern on the face of the frame. The sides are a hefty 0.5”, ivory. The back is also ivory. It is covered (front, back and all) with acrylic varnish. The front has multiple layers of the varnish to make it water-resistant and smooth. Scratch resistant: nothing will peel off. Dowel stand and a sawtooth hanger included. Glass not included.

All non-toxic, child safe materials.
The photo shown as a prop is a personal photo (not included).

SHIPPING is Priority flat rate (cheaper than First Class for my heavier items) or First Class International.
