This is a beautiful, scrumptiously soft blanket I designed for a baby girl. However, the design works equally well for an adult sized throw or afghan so the pattern includes instructions for both the baby size and the adult size.

1Bag Three Ways Knitting Pattern ONLINE DOWNLOAD

This is a knitting pattern with directions for my 1Bag grocery shopping bag in three versions. The basic pattern is available free on my I Live on a Farm dot com website, but does not include the two additional patterns for the yellow bag you see here and the two-toned bag.

I encourage knitters to knit at least one cotton grocery bag to replace plastic shopping bags (or paper) in an effort to make a difference to Planet Earth, one bag at a time. The truth is, on each shopping trip one of these knitted bags replaces two or three plastic bags because of "stretch" factor. And yet, after use they go back to their original shape. Made of 100% cotton in a worsted weight yarn they are machine washable and dryable.

Over the lifetime of one cotton knitted bag it is likely to replace 1000 or more wasteful plastic bags. Can you imagine what would happen if 100,000 knitters around the globe each made a cotton bag and used it regularly for five years? All of those bags added together could potentially replace 78,000,000 plastic shopping bags.

The important thing isn't which pattern you choose. The important thing to is make at least one bag. Use my free pattern, or use someone else's free pattern -- or create your own.

Of course, I would love it if you purchase my pattern because pattern sales help make it possible for me to continue doing knitting design work along with writing an inspirational blog. But my primary interest in cotton grocery bags is the good it will do for the planet, and the good that will do for our children, their children, and the children who come along for generations to come.

This pattern features three of my small hand knit gift bag patterns. The first, "Terra" I originally made to coordinate with the "Fetching" fingerless gloves that so many people have knit over the past couple of years. The bag features the same 4x1 ribbing and cable design of the Fetching fingerless glove pattern and is made to be the right size to fit one pair of the gloves. But, certainly this beautiful bag may be used for any purpose.

The second is a small worsted weight gift bag about 4" to 5" tall; the third is my "Santa's Itty Bag" -- a tiny little bag only about 2" tall and perfect for holiday place settings, tree decorations, etc.

The pattern is made in my unique scrapbook style, featuring a beautiful full-color cover plus close-up color details shots in the pattern itself.

This is my latest summer 2008 released pattern for a hand knit Christmas Stocking. Use this easy to follow, artistically presented pattern to create an heirloom Christmas Stocking for someone on your list.

For this stocking you will need two balls of worsted weight wool, one in a chimney red (150 yds) and the other black (100 yds). I used Lambs Pride SuperWash 100% wool for mine on size U.S. 7 dpns.

As with all of my patterns, this is printed with a professional laser printer (not a home printer) on heavy weight paper and comes in an acrylic sleeve for easy storage.

This scrapbook style pattern features a full-color cover, plus color details shots in the pattern. All of my patterns also include personal journal pages to record the details of your own project.

1Bag Three Ways Knitting Pattern PRINTED VERSION

This is a knitting pattern with directions for my 1Bag grocery shopping bag in three versions. The basic pattern is available free on my I Live on a Farm dot com website, but does not include the two additional patterns for the yellow bag you see here and the two-toned bag.

I encourage knitters to knit at least one cotton grocery bag to replace plastic shopping bags (or paper) in an effort to make a difference to Planet Earth, one bag at a time. The truth is, on each shopping trip one of these knitted bags replaces two or three plastic bags because of "stretch" factor. And yet, after use they go back to their original shape. Made of 100% cotton in a worsted weight yarn they are machine washable and dryable.

Over the lifetime of one cotton knitted bag it is likely to replace 1000 or more wasteful plastic bags. Can you imagine what would happen if 100,000 knitters around the globe each made a cotton bag and used it regularly for five years? All of those bags added together could potentially replace 78,000,000 plastic shopping bags.

The important thing isn't which pattern you choose. The important thing to is make at least one bag. Use my free pattern, or use someone else's free pattern -- or create your own.

Of course, I would love it if you purchase my pattern because pattern sales help make it possible for me to continue doing knitting design work along with writing an inspirational blog. But my primary interest in cotton grocery bags is the good it will do for the planet, and the good that will do for our children, their children, and the children who come along for generations to come.

Knit a bag, use it regularly ... make a difference.

These hand knit gift bags are a great way to dress up, wrap, and present an already beautiful jar of homemade or gourmet jelly, jams, preserves, or other canned goods.

The knitting pattern calls for Louet Euroflax wet spun linen yarn in two colors. The two skeins of yarn make these three bags with plenty left over to make more.

Specific instructions for the three Jammies in these photos: quart size small mouth, 8-oz small mouth, 8-oz wide mouth squat style jar (from Ball). Instructions are included for adjusting pattern to fit pint wide-mouth jars, 12-oz small mouth jars, etc.

Something else very cool about these bags is that, after the "goods" inside the jars are consumed, the jar can be put back in the pretty bag and used to store other items (buttons, beans, whatever) in a very attractive way on a kitchen shelf or elsewhere in the home.

My patterns are very detailed, printed in color with a scrapbook style full-color cover sheet and clear, easy to follow instructions.

OOAK Needle Felted Apple Blossom Brooch

I fashioned this needle felted flower brooch after the crab apple blossoms on an ornamental tree of ours across the road from the farm.

The flower in this piece is about 3" across, while the entire piece is about 4" across. I used my special needle felting technique that leaves the petals of the flowers somewhat transparent which gives the flower a little bit of a watercolor effect.

This is a delicate piece intended to be worn as an adornment/embellishment on hand knit items such as hats and shawls or wraps. It may also be set on a shelf, desk, or table as an art piece ... but please protect her, she is delicate.

Made of 100% wool fleece and roving plus one silver plated 2" kilt pin is securely needle felted onto the back.
