Harrell the Hedgehog Needle Felted Creation

Introducing Harrell the Hedgehog. Harrell is an special fellow with his wild and crazy hedgie hair. He loves to comb it out most carefully in the morning. He also loves strolling along the hedgerows and exploring the hartwood with friends. Sometimes he can be see hanging out with Helewise and her baby Harlow. Today, they might have a pinic! Harrell is ready to have many adventures and would love to come and live with you.
I like to call my needlefelted creations "Imagination Manifestations", because they come about in almost a magical way; its as if a dream or thought takes on a physical form. Hedgehogs are found as characters in many childern's stories and cartoons they are so endearing that one can't help loving them at first glance. The idea of Harrell just teased at my mind until I made him.
Harrell was handcrafted from new and recycled wool. He measures almost 3" by 2 1/2" and he stands at least 2 1/2" high. He was created by needle felting, an amazing process that turns wool into a three dimensional sculpture using only a specialized needle. That, and hours of painstaking labor. I start out with soft wool and carefully sculpt the forms and then the little parts, and end with putting their little faces on. Suddenly, I've gone from piles of fluff to little Hedgiehog. This felted animal is remarkably sturdy because he has a recycled wool core. His fur is hand dyed leicester wool locks with its natural crimp and wave. This beautiful caramel brown wool was purchased right here on Etsy from the FlyingEwe. While the fur, little legs, tails are firmly felted to the body, just remember that due to the nature of needle felted creations this creature shouldn't be subject to unnessesary pulling.
As always, as long as treated with respect they should hold up to gentle imaginative play. Perfect for a Waldorf nature table or woodland altar, they are intended as a story telling device or art sculpture. Afterall, this little guy is my dream come to life.

Its a playful needle felted Monkey Face hairclip ready for your little monkey. The red smiling mouth reminds me of a sock monkey and his cheerful expression is sure to get a grin in return. Some super cute assymetrical dinosaur jewerly... the Purple T-Rex and the Mean Green Stegosaur are sculpted out of high quality polymer clay earrings. They came out totally awesome. I coated them with acrylic glaze and the results are SHINY!

I was totally inspired by Wash’s Dinos.
Here’s my take on them: a candy green T-Rex and wild orange Stegosaur hand sculpted out of high quality polymer clay earrings. They came out totally awesome. I coated them with acrylic glaze and the results are SHINY! A little asymmetrical, but hey some people like that. Whimsical and geeky they are a fitting tribute to our favorite spaceship pilot.

The T-Rex is approx 1"1/2 tall x 1" wide The Stego is 2"
long x 1" wide. They are made of the made of the same amount of clay, so one shouldn't be heavier than the other.
They come with French style hypo-allergenic ear wires.

Ever wonder what would happen if a Zombie, a Werewolf and a Mummy walked into a bar together? If there was a bar fight who would win? Why can't you stop craving brains? Can a Werewolf be housebroken? Standing approx 3” high and only 1” 1/3 wide these tiny iconic legends of bad horror movies have been created by needle felting wool around a wire armature so they are able to be gently bent into a number of monster poses.Added feature the Wolf Man’s head and tail are actually bendable as well.

Their only weaknesses are cats or dogs that might want to use them as a toy. As they contain wire and small beads they are not suitable for small children.

Enchanted Mushroom Ring and Guardian Gnome

Do you dare to step within the fairy ring? Will you be risk being spell bound forever? But wait, this one is already taken by a little gnome. No place is more magical than a toadstool ring; unless you find it with its friendly gnome in residence. Our gnome, whose gnomenclature happens to be, Silly Simon, is happy to welcome you to his mushroom circle, its mossy paths are ever so comfy, do stop by and listen him spin a tale or two.

This needle felted sculpture was created by me using natural wool and repurposed sweaterfelt. This unique piece contains no thread or stitches, it was entirely needle felted by hand. Needle felting is done over hours and hours, painstakingly sculpting wool by poking it hundreds of times. Each mushroom was needle felted separately and then firmly felted to the base of the piece. Like their natural counter parts they may shift and bend in different ways. The mossy banks and mushrooms are merino wool and the “dirt” around the edging is natural colored alpaca. The hill is stuffed with new fiber fill to create its ring like appearance. Gnome guardian may be removed but rests most comfortably in the shallow depression in the middle of the ring. The fairy ring itself measures approx. 8” x 8”, from the bottom of the base to the tallest mushroom is 3”. Silly Simon is approx. 3” tall, although his beard and hat make him seem more like 5”.

Not necessarily recommended for long periods of rough or outdoor play by adults or children. However, its perfect for use as an imaginative storytelling object for folks of all ages.

This piece is an initialed and dated limited series; a signed description card will be included. Of course it will be packaged carefully and shipped priority to ensure its swift arrival.

A combination of needle felting and wet felting techniques has made up this adorable little lamb. This unique piece was entirely needle felted by hand. Needle felting is done over hours and hours, painstakingly sculpting wool by poking it hundreds of times. Careful wet felting made up her silly gangly limbs. Her featured wild and wooly coat of strawberry blond mohair was needle felted and charming glass eyes are firmly sewn in. Harp and Heart Needle Felted Wool Purse Claddagh Ireland

This unique piece of functional art is called the “For the Love of Ireland”: a beautiful purse featuring the lovely claddagh and harp. The clasping hands and heart are practically three-dimensional, having been formed separately and then felted onto the background. The hands are linked with a Celtic knot, itself felted out of purple angora wool, arcing over the entire design. On the back of the purse is a traditional Irish harp, felted in natural Alpaca wool, surrounded by two simple Celtic knots and whimsical multi-colored spirals. A specially felted triskele button in bright green angora wool fastens the purse closed. The claddagh design represents love, friendship and loyalty. The harp is perfect for the Celtic music lover and the spiral button shows Irelands ancient roots.

This art was created by needle felting. Needle felted art represents the culmination of many hours working and shaping the wool roving, relying on nothing but a specialized needle and the imagination of the artist. Using no patterns, I felted each element of the design individually. For the hands I blended two different wool colors to get just the right shade. The lovely heart is solid mohair, a rich red-brown, hand-dyed by folks at Kai Ranch. Although my Celtic knots are simple twining the traditional over under pattern can still be seen.

I used a recycled sweater for the fabric body and strap of the purse. It’s also fully lined in purple cotton. Its dimensions are 7½" x 9”, and the strap is fully 40”inches long to be comfortably worn across the body.

The love and care with which this purse was created is evident is all the tiny details, from the jewels on the crown to the tiny embroidered strings on the harp. Show your green by purchasing this unique purse, and shine with Irish pride.

The Day of Dead is a festival of Mexican heritage honoring ancestors and the recently deceased. Instead of fearing death this holiday embraces the dead; celebrating by leaving flowers on graves, creating altars to honor them and even leaving them their favorite food and drink. Celebrate Dias de los Muertos with this festive sugar skull barrette.

I’m pretty proud of my Mexican heritage so I created this felted version of a sugar skull, an elaborately decorated grave offering. White wool was needle felted and shaped for puffed effect, like a real sugar skull, and a piece of repurposed sweater was felted on as a backing; then all the lovely details were needle felted in place. This departed soul stares out from beyond the grave through cornflower eyes and magenta seed beads set his eyes to sparkling. A vine rose twines gracefully between his eyes and the leaves are delicately shaded in hand dyed mohair.

The sturdy nickel barrette is 70mm in length set crosswise. The whole piece measures 3”¼ x 2”.
