This oh, so affordable original I have joyfully created from recycled paints and wallpaper samples!
Quickly painting a Zinnias pattern, adding a birdie silhouette, and a few candy colored metallic splatters on the flexible vinyl wallpaper, a graphic, whimsical, and delightfully decorative work of art emerges. The canvas measures 12"x12" and 3/4" deep, painted on the sides, matte sheen with gloss Zinnia outline, wired and ready to hang!

Photographed on an overcast day. The colors are richer and more vivid in real life. The bright sunlight was distorting some color through the lens. I do not like to alter colors in the computer. I prefer natural light.

These color combinations are limited to this immediate series. I change up my color pallet with each grouping I prepare. Sometimes they are similar, yet even different color groupings look great together!

Designed to hang solo or gathered in a group with other "Zinnia" or "For the Birds..." abstract original paintings I have created. Groupings look great arranged in a grid or freely grouped about on the wall. The concept is to create a versatile abstract modern landscape.

For the Birds!...A fun original acrylic painting on an approximate 8"x6" (7 7/8"x5 3/4") thin 1/2" sided gallery wrapped canvas with the design continuing on the edges. This black birdie silhouette is perched on a zinnia! Loaded with layers of thick paint embossed like icing on a cake topped with yummy iridescent dots! Yum!

The black birdie silhouette is perched upon a dark chocolate syrup outlined zinnia with light lavender and white petals, and background colors in dark chocolate, aqua, cappuccino, mauve, & meadow green, along with a sprinkling of iridescent splatters in sky blue, moss green, and orange juice!
This is simply spectacular in real life!

Connecting the past and present.
An antique book page removed from an Art History Book, "Madonnas in Art" published in Paris in 1947,
is modernly embellished with painted abstract roses. A "Bed of Roses" as I call it.
Drawn to the symbol of the rose as well as its natural botanical beauty, I subconsciously need to embellish with this abstract swirling form.
I am drawn to the mystery of vintage items. Antiques swirl my senses and bewitch my creativity. Book pages transport my awareness. This series of Art History images let me in to their worlds, their times, and I found myself orchestrated by their provoking beauty to embellish their essence. I faithfully let the paint flow from the brush, a stream of conscious thoughts expressed in abstract flowers. This is my form of communication.
Through this process I experience my connections to the past, present and future.

The Madonna In Art with a Bed of Roses. This is an original acrylic painting of roses embellishing vintage ephemera, a black and white print of a Madonna image, The Virgin at Prayers, mosaic(Vth century). This printed page of paper was torn out of an old Art History book published in Paris 1947, measuring a bit over 9.5"x12.25", and then adorned with a swirling "Bed Roses". Magenta, white, and red, with metallic golden leaves.

The acrylic paint with its fresh new sheen on the patina and velvet pulp texture of the old paper with its faint library musk. My senses tuned, I wonder who else has shared a breath with this page...

Beautiful, touching, delicate, tattered, torn, fragile, and very old.

I adore the contrasts of time.

This piece is special, touching, delicate, tattered, torn, delicate, fragile, and very old.
I adore Art History. Much of the, oh so old, older works of Art were created for the church or ruling powers of the time. Religious themes are prominent in ancient times. Their Haunting Beauty Captivates me...

A torn out Madonna printed page from an old art book painted 60 years after it's debut.
Now, information on the original Madonna work of art featured in this painting on a vintage print, according to it's publication:

An original acrylic mixed media painting.
Measuring 18"x24" with 3/4" sides.
Painted on fabric stretched on a gallery wrapped canvas.
The design continues on the sides.
This lovely classic still life evokes a nostalgic vintage appeal. Featuring a textured textile finish with a subtle eggshell gloss thickening on some petals to a semi gloss sheen protecting the fabrics and paint and highlighting the depth of the colors.
No need to frame. Ready to hang, and looks great without a frame.
Yet, fantastic framed.

A limited edition print series. A one of a kind print!

This black birdie silhouette is perched on a zinnia! Laser printed on an Original Antique Page removed from a 1931 science book ”The Science of Life".
The page measures approx 6"x9" and the square bird and zinnia design measures 5"x5". Looks great cropped or fantastic floating in a frame.
The chapter is THE NOURISHMENT OF THE BODY, page 1063.
Each printed page has its own unique characteristics.
Some pages are tattered on the side, some pages have been trimmed. Some have tares, some rips, some wrinkles, or bended corners...
THIS PAGE appears to be in very good shape. A cut left margin with a few so lightly jagged edges on the left margin where it was removed from the book. Only contributing to it's unique antique character & charm!

This is a reproduction print of a painting, laser printed on vintage ephemera. A limited edition print series. A one of a kind print!
The original painting of "For the Hummingbirds on a Zinnia" was painted with acrylic on canvas.
