In celebration of the oncoming Winter months, the 2nd in my Four Seasons Series of hand painted portrait cameo necklaces!

Inspired by the darkest months of the year, this necklace features deep burgundy, garnet and jet black. Touches of festivity shine through with the pearl coated Czech glass and Antiqued Brass.

The resin Cameo was lovingly painted with multiple layers of Acrylic and lacquered to protect the finish. I've chosen a highly detailed Antiqued brass Setting, made from centuries old tooling.. in true Neo Victorian fashion!

The beads i selected for this piece are equally unique ~ lovely deep burgundy pearl coated Czech glass beads between lengths of antiqued brass mother son chain and both smooth Garnet and faceted Jet Black Czech glass, wire wrapped individually to create a fancy rosary style chain.

Hours of work have gone into this piece.. you'll truly be wearing something that's close to my own heart while wearing this necklace!

Necklace is 16" with 2" chain extension for adjustability.

The Lark of Les Miserables inspired this sweet bauble ~ made with a breath-taking 11x17mm Teal Celsian Czech glass bead and Antiqued Brass filigree caps.

The individual bead is formed in a mold, machine cut (faceted) and glazed in a red hot oven to create that amazing iridescent sheen. These Teal Celsian beads are EXTREMELY hard to find and some of the most beautiful i've ever seen ~ each is truly a treasure!

Pendant is 1" long and 3/4" wide.

Prep: 30 minutes

~ Ingredients~

* 1 4-serving-size package cook-and-serve vanilla pudding mix
* 1-1/2 cups half-and-half, light cream, or milk
* 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
* 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
* 1 cup whipped cream
* 1 cup coarsely crushed gingersnaps (about 12 to 14)
* 3/4 cup chopped pecans
* 1 recipe Graham Cracker Crust* (see recipe below)
* Crushed gingersnaps (optional)
* Whipped cream (optional)

Directions

1. In a medium saucepan, cook pudding mix according to package directions, except substitute the 1-1/2 cups half-and-half for the 2 cups liquid and stir in pumpkin pie spice before cooking.

2. Remove saucepan from heat. Stir in the pumpkin. Cover surface with plastic wrap. Let stand for 1-1/2 hours or until nearly at room temperature. Stir mixture gently. Fold in the 1 cup whipped cream and the 1 cup coarsely crushed gingersnaps.

3. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of the pecans on the bottom of Graham Cracker Crust. Transfer pumpkin mixture to pie crust. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 hours or until firm. Before serving, sprinkle with remaining pecans. Garnish with additional crushed gingersnaps and whipped cream, if you like. Store in refrigerator. Makes 8 servings.

Graham Cracker Crust: Melt 1/3 cup butter. Stir in 1/4 cup sugar. Add 1-1/4 cups finely crushed graham crackers (about 18 crackers). Toss to mix well. Spread mixture evenly into a 9-inch pie plate. Press onto bottom and side to form a firm, even crust. Chill in the refrigerator about 1 hour or until firm.

*Note: If you wish to start with a purchased graham cracker crust, buy 1 deep-dish crust or 2 of the shallow crusts.

Legend tells a story of a beautiful young woman named Agnes who fatefully followed her fiance, Lt. McPherson, from Scotland to the South Carolina back country ~ in a little town known as Camden where the Yankee soldiers of the American Revolution were struggling to gain ground.

Agnes never found her lover and succumbed to illness sometime in the 1780s... and for the last 225 years she's wandered the gravel paths of the Old Quaker Graveyard, still searching for her betrothed.

These lovely pale blue and white cameos reminded me of my days working at the Historic Camden Revolutionary War Site, reciting this tale to tourists and eager children looking for a thrill amongst the Spanish Moss and Live Oaks...

I've accented them with tiny agate stones and Surgical Steel french ear wires.

Earrings are just over 1" long.
