Spruce (large) - mounted rubber stamp

$9.00
................. LARGE BLACK SPRUCE

I've made 3 sizes of spruce stamps, each size is different. This one is the Large. Very versatile, for backgrounds or textures. Our landscape is divided between spruce and birch/aspen. It was given I'd have to start off with some spruce stamps. A northern essential.

Wood block size is 1.75 by 4.0 inches.

................. A NOTE ON MY STAMPS

All stamps are original art. I designed each from my nature illustrations or my photography.

The red rubber stamp is adhered to a maple block with a red rubber cushion between. I've finished and sanded the block. I've printed the stamp's image on the top of the block with printers ink. My hope is to make these mounted stamps something of art objects in themselves. Nice to look at and hold.

All stamps are available either mounted or unmounted. Please contact me if you don't see what you'd like.

I have an Angel policy on my stamps. In brief, this means you can use the stamps on items for sale as long as they are hand-stamped.

$35.00
Entirely handmade box with magnet closure.
Made with book binding techniques. Drop spine design.
Magnets recessed into lid and box front hold lid tightly shut.
Includes 14 Stockmar crayons (German made, excellent colors, made with beeswax).

I make my boxes from scratch. The structure is book board. I recess a small strong magnet into the front edge of the box. Another strong magnet is aligned and recessed into the box lid. Stays shut with a satisfying click.

If you are unfamiliar with Stockmar crayons, they are awesome. Smooth and brilliant. This is the sort of crayon box a person might keep for a lifetime... at least I would.

Like the box but don't need crayons?? That's fine with me. Please contact me and I can post it for you minus the cost of the crayons.

Note on the photography:
In order to keep the crayons from marking up the box before you get it, I insert a piece of cereal box. You might notice it under the crayons. The photo of the box without crayons shows the color of the inside book cloth. A person could choice to leave the cereal box in place if they like. I personally like how the box gets all marked up. I like used things.

Dimensions in inches:
interior tray measure 7 x 3.75 x .75
exterior measures 7.5 x 4.25 x 1.125

Note on shipping:
A crayon box fits perfectly in a small flat rate Priority box for $4.95. Unfortunately, it is too heavy for First Class package.

Stays shut with a satisfying click.

If you are unfamiliar with Stockmar crayons, they are the best, smooth and brilliant. Block crayons are especially great for the smallest of coloring children. They are also perfect for broad strokes such as for rubbings (coloring over a texture, often done over leaves).

Like the box but don't need crayons?? That's fine with me. Please contact me and I can post it for you minus the cost of the crayons.

In order to keep the crayons from marking up the box before you get it, I insert a tray made of cereal box cardboard. You might notice it under the crayons. The box is lined with book cloth and has no need for a liner once you get it. A person could choice to leave the cereal box or not. I personally like how the box gets all marked up. I like used things.

Dimensions in inches (approximately):
interior tray measure 2 x 5.75 x .75
exterior measures 2.5 x 6.5 x 1.125

SPORE PRINT - 1.25 inch with tiny stem

This is straight forward, no drawing or photography, just spores. And I love using circles. Looking forward to adding more of these stamps.

See actual stamp size in the ruler photo.
Wood block size is 1.75 by 1.75 inches.

.................

Please contact me if you'd like to buy a stamp unmounted.

I have an Angel policy on my stamps. In brief, this means you can use the stamps on items for sale as long as they are hand-stamped.

The structure is book board. I recess a small strong magnet into the front edge of the box. Another strong magnet is aligned and recessed into the box lid. The spine of the box is 'drop' (not glued to the tray). The magnets hold it tightly shut.

This is one precise looking box. I'll admit that I am reluctant to part with it. The linen-colored book cloth is extremely thick, making the entire box feel very heavy duty. It is a bit less flexible than my usual boxes, but that's not a problem. The stiffness is only a function of the heavy book cloth. I had this particular book cloth around for years. Apparently it was waiting for the wonderful striped paper to show up. They are perfect together.

I consider this one of my unisex boxes. Sometimes guys are a bit hard to buy for. No reason you couldn't fill it with screwdrivers and pliers. I might just do that myself.

The pencil photo is for a sense of scale.

$7.00
................. SNOWSHOE HARE

With our hare population near a peak in it's cycle, I schemed to lure one out into the open with some willow branches. To my surprise, it finally worked one day at around 9 a.m. with plenty of light to photograph from my upstairs window. I might have taken 100 photos and was able to develop two of them into stamp art.

The backside of a hare is available in two slightly different sizes, facing different directions. This one, facing right, is the smaller of the two.

A portion of my photo is shown for interest. Check out the huge foot. Looks kind of awkward so I left it off the stamp art.

Wood block size is 1.75 by 2.75 inches.

.................

Please contact me if you'd like to buy a stamp unmounted.

I have an Angel policy on my stamps. In brief, this means you can use the stamps on items for sale as long as they are hand-stamped.
TREEFROGGIE

I've always loved frogs. So funny looking and oddly cold when you pick them up. My parent's farm in Wisconsin has a great number of frogs and toads. I photographed this little treefrog there.

See actual stamp size in the ruler photo.
Wood block size is 2.25 by 2.5 inches.

................. The structure is book board. I recess a small strong magnet into the front edge of the box. Another strong magnet is aligned and recessed into the box lid. The spine of the box is 'drop' (not glued to the tray). The magnets hold it tightly shut.

These gray clouds make for a very unique box. When I saw this paper, I didn't hesitate. I'd never seen anything like it. The metallic flecks and silver and gold make it quite atmospheric.

Sometimes I pick papers because I think they would make great boxes for men in particular. This is one of those. Let's call is a unisex box.

The pencil photo is for a sense of scale.

$6.00
................. REDUCE REUSE RECYCLE

Requested by a friend. I designed this for such things as stamping reused envelopes and packaging. I'm finding all kinds of places that need such a reminder.

A trip to Africa last summer really clarified for me how much I waste. And how much more I should be able to do with what I have. Very inspiring.

Wood block size is 1.25 by 2 inches.

.................
