This was such fun to make. raiding my jewelry stash, making stacked flowers and finding a pretty pink ribbon. ace stuff.

the base is made from two tones of pink felt (nice soft stuff at the back for comfort). on top of this i attached as much bright, colourful and sparkly stuff as i could find.

completely over the top but in a wonderful way.

the necklace fastens with ribbons which means you can wear it down low as a necklace or tighter round your neck as more of a choker. tis up to you.

I found these two identical and every so lovely round watch movements and simply had to make them into cuff links. there are just so super funky and i can't even stand it :)

I can just see my fella, in his suit, setting off for his job in the city, ever so smart and conventional, tattoos and piercings all hidden away, with these little beauties subtly showing the other side to him... but he can't have em!

I've been contemplating my lovely bead collection a lot of late. sorting through them and wondering what, apart from marvel at the pretties, to do with them. then i decided to make myself a necklace... and got a bit carried away and made a bunch of them.

I made a long necklace, no clasp just over the head, constructed from various vintage chains and then dangled off various colourful baubles to make a kitschy and very random necklace.

My favorite thing is the mix of materials, textures and colours. unexpected pairings and combinations make it quite hypnotising to play with.

Oh my god how i love this. it's totally ridiculous but so much fun :)

you have a selection of huge and beautifully kitsch charms on a silver plate bracelet which fastens with a lobster clasp to fit any wrist size.

the charms include a massive prawn, a tray of sushi, a bowl of beans, a mushroom and a mr pill head just for fun!

this is really not for the faint hearted but everytime i wear my one nobody can resist having a play with it :)

introducing Maurice. when he gave his body to science i don't think this is quite what he expected. poor my dead little phony resurrected as a musical marvel.

his body was opened up and augmented with a pseudo Theremin. (the odd instrument which makes eldritch noises when you wave at it) pseudo because in this case the Theremin is control by light rather than radio waves but the sound and method of playing is much the same. you wave your hand in front of his eye (after first flipping the switch on his front hoof) and spooky sounds emerge. with a little practice you can play a tune simply by moving your hand up and down.

the evolution from my dead little pony to golden steampunk/zombie/musical instrument was not an easy process for Maurice and some of his scars are still fresh. the jack in his flank looks particularly raw but as it enables you to plug in headphones, speakers or an amp i think he would agree with me that it was worth it.

he does not do well in bright sunlight, the early evening is his favorite time, his squeal will become too high to be audible if the light is too bright. but in the twighlight, under artificial light or wearing shades he will sing for you endlessly.

well i say endlessly but you might at some point need to change his batteries and fortunately a flap of loose skin on his belly allows you to do this without too much blood loss.

invite Maurice into your house and be the envy of all, his sweet song, sweet nature and retched blood stained appearance will melt your heart. probably.

We have lots of books in our house, loads. floor to ceiling bookshelves act as a pretty and informative alternative to wallpaper and have the added bonus of keeping the heat in.

but there is a growing problem... bookworm.

or rather, in this case, book beetles. and they are at war.

seemed to be over. all was quiet again. the steampunk had beaten the cyber beetles into the ground. not one was left.

but the peace was short lived...

when i investigated inbetween the cluttered books i found to my horror that it was now a civil war that woke me up at night.

the beetles had grown used to the fight and did not want to give it up. so they fought each other. it shows no sign of ending.

here is a small slice of the battle captured and frozen. a slice of time in a distressed silver frame.

I love love love buttons. not just a little bit. sometimes i dream of swimming through piles of them. and in the dreams this is what i wear around my neck :)

some ace vintage trim with little stacks of colourful buttons sewn on. it fastens at the back with an extender chain finished with a pretty dangle and will fit from small to large necks.

i'm loving making faces at the moment. i got hold of some eyes and these really make them look fab and full of character.

'cause i like making just the faces so much at the mo i want to keep doing them rather than having to stop and incorporate them into finished works (i tend to have phases and want to keep going till the urge for faces ends!). so for this reason i am selling them for you to make things with.

on the etsy forums i got loads of great ideas what to do with them, huge pendants, faces for art dolls, adornments for the covers of goth stylie notebooks, fridge magnets, paper weights and lots more.

the faces are unpainted and have a rough sculptural finish, i like to see tool marks and finger prints but if you don't you could easily sand them smooth.

This second face is a woman with a fairly serene and wistful but slightly challenging expression.

measurements are roughly - height:6.5cm width:4.5cm depth:3cm

you can do whatever you like with the face and sell it on as part of something you create, - a link back to here would be appreciated :) - but as the face itself is an original and i do not use moulds i would not want anyone else making casts of the face to sell on.

a photograph was digitally fiddled with till i looked nice (hense the title!) then it was added to a collage of
cute colourful paper and then drawn and painted over.

This is a little plastic box stuffed full of bits of clockwork, cogs, pretty bits with jewels, lovely old stuff.

i found a whole load of clockwork from a retired watchmaker so i have a bunch of these boxes. contents will vary but i have made sure to stuff each one full of bits that i love and i'm sure you will too.

the last photo shows some of the other boxes.

(if i run out of boxes for a bit you may get your clockwork in a baggy instead but i'll add extra cogs to make up for it. message if you really need the box tho and i'll find you one)

This is a really teeny 12 scale cactus. perfect for putting on a bookshelf or something.

it's planted in a really nice braxton payne pot with separate saucer. the spines are really long and fine, planted in white gravel and has a wee pink flower.
