A bilum is a traditional hand made bag from Papua New Guinea. A bilum serves as a multi purpose accessory for carrying garden produce and shopping or other heavy household items. Bilums are often used to hold sleeping babies while mothers work in their gardens. Even today, a bilum remains a convenient item for village women and men.

This bilum has a traditional design in contemporary colours and was made by a village woman to supplement the family income. It was made by hand using a needle woven loop stitch. Measurement 16in x 16 in (40cm x 40cm)

Proceeds from the sale of this item goes to the Mando Project, Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS) Health and Education Project in the Eastern Highlands, Papua New Guinea.

This bilum has a traditional design depicting the national symbol of Papua New Guinea, the Bird of Paradise, in traditional colours - red, black and yellow on a white background . This bilum was made by a village woman to supplement the family income. It was made by hand using a needle woven loop stitch. Measurement 10in x 12 in (26cm x 30cm) Handle 24in (60cm)

Have you ever just needed to think pink? Somehow, pink lifts my spirits.... and recently I have been making quite a few pretty pink treasures for girls and women . This little pink brooch has a vintage image stamped onto pink polymer clay as its feature. Its base is embellished felt, with clusters of glass flower and leaf beads, and some surface emrboidery. It also has a pin attached to the back.
Size : 3in by 2in ( 8cm by 5cm)
This would also make a great handbag accessory

I made this piece for Beads Etc magazine competition, and it was a finalist and featured in the magazine .

Arabian Nights is a stunning piece of loomed beadwork depicting a woman's face (from a Margie Deeb pattern). The beaded section is sewn to a soft burgundy velvet pouch, lined with satin. Delica beads (size 11 glass beads)in rich coordinating colours create this exquisite image. The fringe is made from gold metallic coin charms, attached individually by loops of delica beads. The hanger is chain with metal links, reminiscent of a belly dancer's embellishment.

This is a unique wearable accessory or it would look equally spectacular as a small decorative wall hanging.

I thought this polymer clay heart pendant needed something else, so I added a fine silver cabochon. The fine silver (.999 silver) has been oxidised to create an antique/vintage look. The necklace is made from glass seed beads and it has a silver parrot clasp and extension chain.
