I adore nature and try to capture the beauty of Fall by impressing newly fallen leaves into my clay. Then, when glazing I'll use 4 or 5 different colors in various patterns in an attempt to mimic the glorious colors of real Fall leaves.

This dish was hand-built by me in my studio using my high fire dark brown stoneware clay.
Red Oak and Sugar Maple Leaf Serving Dish in tribal pattern

$28.00
I seek to honor Mother Nature and so I love to include leaves on my pottery! On this piece you'll find a red oak and a sugar maple leaf that I found in our back yard. I used 3 or 4 glazes on each leaf to try to emulate the brilliant colors found in nature.

Note: This listing is for the smaller of the two trays as shown in pictures 1-4.

This oval serving tray was hand-built by me in my studio and fired in my electric kiln. I rolled out a slab with my rolling pin and used my tribal stamps to create the pattern. When it was leather hard I added the leaves. Of course it was fired, glazed and fired again.

It could be used to serve food or to decorate your table! It's been high fired and therefore is oven, microwave and dishwasher safe. Only non-toxic glazes are used in my pottery.

SIZE:
11" or 27 cm in length
5" or 12.5 cm at its widest point
.5" or 2 cm tall
dark brown stoneware clay

NOTE: I do ship Internationally!
Falling Leaves Ceramic Casserole - Handmade Pottery

$48.00
The leaves are falling and they're so beautiful! The wind blows them around our yard and I run after them, searching for the prettiest ones to use in my pottery.

This handmade ceramic casserole dish has sycamore, oak and maple leaves from our yard in Ohio. Each leaf has 3 or 4 glazes applied to it, to try to emulate Mother Nature's artistic genius.

I hand-built this square casserole with slabs and then added coils in my funky rustic style. Don't like things to be too perfect, if it's handmade, it should look it!

Of course you can cook your favorite casserole in this dish in your oven! Directions will be included. It was high fired in my electric kiln and is therefore oven, microwave and dishwasher safe. Only non-toxic glazes are used.

SIZE:
Holds 2 quarts (8 cups) easily
9.5" or 24 cm square
4" or 10 cm tall

Note: I do ship Internationally!
PEACE LEAF handmade ceramic decorating accent by Dancing Dolphin Pottery

$14.00
Mother Nature & Peace all together in one small piece of artwork! There are two sycamore trees in our back yard and I love their big, beautiful leaves! I used one of them to make an impression in my stoneware clay, then cut out all around it. As it dried, I laid it into a ceramic bowl to curve the edges upward. Hand-rolled a coil to create the Peace symbol in the center. After it was bisque fired, I put black underglaze all over it, then wiped it off with a sponge. This allows the black underglaze to settle into the leaf's veins to bring out the detail of Mother Nature's original creation.

High fired in my electric kiln to cone 6. Ochre and Chartreuse glazes used.

Size: 5.5" or 14cm wide, 5" or 12cm tall (bottom to top)

NOTE: I do sell INTERNATIONALLY! Please convo me if you'd like a shipping quote personalized to your country.

Thank you for looking!

Giraffe Ceramic Wall Pocket handmade by Dancing Dolphin Pottery

$24.00
I've become enamored with giraffes recently. They are so beautiful and can see to the horizon. As animal totems, they assist us to see beyond what is right in front of us and focus on what's coming from the horizon. This is why I added the words "vision" to my wall pocket! What's in your future? What's in future for humanity?

My earthy wall pockets will grace your walls alone or with a dry decoration. I hand-built these in my own studio, using a rolling pin to roll out the dark brown stoneware clay into a slab; then I cut out the shapes free-form style. This is why the design is lose and free flowing. I then embellish the slabs with my stamp collection and assemble the parts! Hand rolled coils were added around the top and across the pocket for additional strength and support.

Glazed in warm earth hues; including chun plum on inside, and ochre and albany slip brown on the outside. Pockets were fired to cone 6 in my electric kiln and are very durable.

Size:
7.5" or 19 cm tall
6.5" or 16 cm wide
Nail hole for hanging!

Note: I do ship INTERNATIONALLY! I hand-rolled out my clay and used my fun stamps to design this piece, using a previous pot I threw on the wheel as a mold. It's created with my dark brown high fire stoneware clay and has been fired to cone 6; glazed with ochre which is a beautiful harvest gold color. (Technically it is oven, microwave and dishwasher safe).

Various functions: hold your rings 'n things on your dresser, candy dish or candle holder.

Size:
5-5.5" or 13-14.5cm wide (it's oval)
stands about 1" or 2cm tall off the table.

NOTE: I do ship INTERNATIONALLY! This small serving platter and cup set make a fabulous pair. The platter is perfect for serving smaller items like shrimp with cocktail sauce, veggies with dip or fruit and yogurt. To incorporate the cup, you could use it to hold bread sticks, celery or flatware/eating utencils.

When you're not entertaining, use them as your day to day dinnerware! The small platter is a great PERSONAL LAPTOP SNACK TRAY for relaxing while watching TV or reading a book. And the cup holds alot of liquid and keeps it cold or hot.

I created these ceramic items by hand on my pottery wheel with my dark brown stoneware clay. I hand-built these in my own studio, using a rolling pin to flaten out the dark brown stoneware clay into a slab; then I cut out the shapes free-form style. This is why the design is lose and free flowing. Couldn't help but add my favorite symbol--the spiral onto these pockets! They make a beautiful pair but I decided to sell them separately in case someone wanted a single pocket.

Note: This listing is for the larger of the two pockets.

Glazed in warm earth hues chun plum on inside, ochre and albany slip brown on the outside. Pockets were fired to cone 6 in my electric kiln and are very durable.

Size:
10" or 25.5 cm tall
6" or 15 cm wide
Nail hole for hanging!

Note: I do ship INTERNATIONALLY! I created it on my pottery wheel first, then added the hand-pulled handle when it was leather hard. Bisque fired, glazed and glazed fired in my electric kiln to cone 6. As you can see, they each have their own personality! They are made with great love. I start with a lump of clay and hand-form it into what you see here; then add the fins and tail. It's hollow!

The dolphins are a vital link from the higher realms to Mother Earth. Their soothing songs bring peace and healing to our beautiful blue planet. This is one reason why I love them so much!

This dolphin is decorated with spirals, the zig zag pattern that I believe is the Native American symbol for water, "Imagine" and "Peace" on his dorsal fin; and a spiral with dots on his forehead. His coloring is a gray matte glaze with specs. He's very happy and would love to sit on your desk, dresser or coffee table to bring you smiles!

Size: 7" long and 4" tall (fin to fin!)
Metric: 17 cm long 10 cm tall (fin to fin!)

***I SHIP WORLDWIDE!!
Wheel thrown raku fired vase, copper matte glaze with slip trailing by Dancing Dolphin Pottery

$37.00
This raku vase was thrown by me on my potter's wheel and raku fired using the "Copper Matte" glaze which produces a variety of colors. When the pot was leather hard, I used slip to decorate the base and inside rim of this piece; adorning it with spirals and dots.

Please note: These copper matte raku pots are very hard to photograph!! I used natural light outdoors to photograph them and when sizing them in "Photoshop" I tried to get them as accurate as possible to the real life colors. However, everyone's monitor is different. Please remember that they may look different in person.

Raku pottery is not functional, but decorative. If you aren't familiar with the Raku firing process, it is much more labor intensive that standard kiln firing. This is why you'll notice that raku and wood fired pots are usually more expensive. For raku, we throw the pots, let them dry, then bisque fire them in the kiln. Then, we mix up special raku glazes, glaze the pots...the videos will take over from here! It's very hot and you end up breathing smokey glaze chemicals--yuck! The firing can take all day long. But, potters love this challenge and the thrill of having your pot emerge from the metal trash cans with flashes of color on them!

Here's a basic video that I found that will give you an idea of the raku firing process: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5gpu5ynCxg&eurl=http://video.google.com/videosearch?hl=en&q=raku+firing&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=pmOjScfLCoqhtwek99nSBA&sa=X

(Note: if link doesn't work, there are many other raku videos on YouTube!)

Height: 7.5 inches or 19.5 cm tall
Vase opening: 1 inches or 2 cm wide (You can put dried flowers in it, but not water!)
Rim diameter: 2.5" or 6.5 cm wide
Base: 3.5 inches or about 8.5 cm wide.

I ship worldwide!

Height: 5 inches or 12 cm tall
pot opening: 4 inches or 10 cm wide
Diameter of top rim: 5.25 inches or about 13 cm wide.
Base: 2.75 inches or about 7 cm wide.

I ship worldwide.
$29.00
This pot was thrown by me on my potter's wheel and raku fired. It's glazed with a COPPER glaze which really looks like an old penny! While it was "leather hard" I added slip trail decorations around the rim.

I love the rustic, ancient artifact look of the glaze and firing method. To me it looks like it was just dug up in Greece!
