An all year round fun skirt. Wear over leggings when it's cool and by itself for summer. I randomly selected recycled vintage and new fabrics in the blue tones for this skirt. So much fun to make...looking forward to making more of these (they will all be one of a kind).

SEWING INFO:
Pre washed fabrics. The recycled vintage fabrics are in excellent condition...with only one having faint marks which aren't noticeable, due to the busy print. Seams are machine sewn, edges overlocked and top stitched. I like to top stitch patcwork to make the seams sit nice and flat and it also generally eliminates the need for ironing. I appliqued a blue rose at the front. The waist has excellent quality high density non roll elastic at the sides and back. The front isn't elasticated so that it sits nice and flat across the stomach. The last two photos show the wrong side.

MEASUREMENTS:
16.5" (42cm) long.
Waist measured across the front only - 10" (25.5cm) unstretched and 14" (35.5cm) when stretched fully...need to double these waist measurements.

CARE:
Turn inside out to gently machine wash in cool or warm water. A quick touch up with a warm iron if required...I doubt it will need it.

Yellow and gold embroidered roses with sage green leaves and patterns. This vintage ribbon is stunning. 49.5" (125.5cm) long and 1.25" (32mm) wide.

6 x long pieces of handmade cotton ribbon with rolled hem edging. Each one is approx 7.25 ft (221cm) long and 1/2 " wide (1.5cm). One join in the middle of each one.

10 x short pieces of handmade cotton ribbon with rolled hem edging. Each one is approx 12" (30cm) long.

A pretty and practical lined dress or skirt. Made from previously unused vintage cotton fabrics. I stitched rows of fabric on the waist or bodice and threaded elastic in each for a shirred effect (more durable than shirring elastic). There is a button hole style loop at the inside front to hold a removable halter tie (must add a photo of the tie).

To fit a chest, waist or bust measurement of 36" to 46" (91cm to 117cm). The dress/skirt is 36" long (91cm).

Modelled for the photos by a size small...the elastic isn't firm for a small, but could be worn with the halter tie to stop the dress sliding down!!! A little too gathered for a small, so I recommend this dress for sizes 14 to 18 (Australian...or, medium to large)

CARE:
Gentle machine wash in cool or warm water. Dry in shade. I don't recommend tumble drying clothes with elastic content. A printed care label is sewn in on the inside.

A pretty knee length skirt or long top made from recycled vintage fabrics (perfect condition). The top band has high density non roll elastic. There are four rows of braided elastic which I sewed on using straight stitch.

The elastic section will fit circumferences of 26" to 32" (66cm to 81cm)

CARE:
Gentle machine wash in cool or warm water. I don't recommend tumble dry for elasticated clothing. A printed care label is sewn below the bodice/waist section, at the centre back.

Comfortable and practical. The dress/skirt has small blue flowers with a touch of purple and green - the floral print is in black outline. There are six rows of encased elastic at the waist/bodice. The halter tie is removable...I made a button hole style loop on the under side/ lining to hold the halter tie (as seen in the fourth photo).

MEASUREMENTS:
To fit a chest, waist or hip circumference of 34" to 40" (86cm to 102cm)
39" long (99cm).

SEWING INFO:
Pre-washed previously unused vintage cotton fabric. The bodice and skirt section is lined with the same fabric as the outer dress/skirt. Seams are machine sewn, overlocked and top stitched. I made the elastic casings by sewing rows of stitching around the bodice and threading the elastic through...I find this more durable than using shirring elastic and worth the extra time involved.

CARE:
A printed care label is sewn onto the lining just below the bodice. Cool or warm machine wash. Warm iron if required. To prolong the life of elastic, I recommend line drying.

A striking full patchwork skirt with blue, white and a splash of warm yellow. I appliqued beautiful roses front and back and added ric rac and vintage broderie anglaise lace. The waist has excellenct quality high density non roll elastic. The ruffle at the hem is folded over to add a touch more weight to make the skirt hang nicely.

SEWING INFO:
Pre washed like new recycled vintage fabrics and new fabrics. Seams are machine sewn overlocked and top stitched. Neat and secure finish.

CARE:
A printed care label is sewn in at the inside back waist. Wash with similar colours. Warm (or cool) machine or hand wash. Dry in shade. Best not to tumble dry clothes if you wish for them to last a long time. I doubt this skirt will require ironing...however a quick warm iron on the wrong side will be fine.

MEASUREMENTS:

Waist 9" (23cm) across the front only when the elastic is unstretched. 15" (38cm) across the front only with the elastic fully stretched.

A very pretty, excellent quality cotton skirt with a cotton or cotton blend lining (the red lining fabric is crease resistant and so, may contain some polyester...it has been in my stash for a long time!). A-line with a ruffle at the bottom and an abstract climbing rose design (a slightly lighter shade of red than the floral background...it looks a bit orange in the photo) at the front. The black strips of fabric ("climbing frame for the roses") narrow at the waist for a slimming effect. There is a red zipper and button access on the left side. The waist band is partly elasticated at the back...ruched effect for a nicer look. I added darts just below the waist band.

Crazy beautiful blue and white skirt, girls size 8 to 11

I have been wanting to make one of these skirts for ages! Crazy, because there is a crazy amount of detail and beautiful, because I think it looks beautiful. One of a kind. The outer skirt has a crochet flower with a diamante centre daisy button to match the daisy print fabric beneath. There is vintage soft blue and white broderie anglaise lace at the top and a blue and white rose border which is a folded piece of recycled vintage fabric in great condition. The navy polka dot on white fabric for the under skirt, is previously unused vintage. I appliqued a blue and white rose and added sequins for some bling. There are sequins on the lace edge at the front also...as can be seen in the photos.

SEWING INFO:
The skirt waist has high density non roll elastic at the back and sides. The front has a draw string adjustment and can be adjusted by a few inches to fit a range of sizes. I made a casing for the draw string. Seams are machine sewn, overlocked and top stitched. Neatly and securely made.

CARE:
Turn inside out to gently machine or hand wash in cool or warm water. A warm iron on the under side if required. Wash with like colours. A printed care label is sewn in at the inside back waist.

MEASUREMENTS:
Modelled by a size 8 for the photos.
Waist across the front only and with the draw string completely relaxed 12" (30.5cm) and with the elastic stretched fully 16" (40.5cm).

Waist across the front only and with the draw string tightened, 10" (25.5cm). The draw string could be pulled tighter but the skirt front would start to look bunched.

The above waist measurements need to be doubled for waist circumference.

A cute little corduroy dress with a funky vintage fabric, ric rac and red with white polka dot feature at the front left. On the right side of the dress there is a vintage fabric pocket which has a red and white polka dot lining (I placed the pocket on the side seam so that it can be seen from the back and yet be functional for the wearer). The facing is red corduroy also and there are two red buttons for access at the front of the dress.

Blue and white are so pretty together! This skirt has previously unused vintage, recycled vintage and new fabrics. There is a hand embroidered square at the front which depicts birds, a chinese building and a willow tree. I added ric rac and a handmade ribbon with rolled hem edging for added interest. Access is via a navy skirt zipper on the left. The skirt is lined.

I made a similar skirt for myself. I don't iron mine because like this skirt, every seam and panel is top stitched. Most fabrics are cotton some have polyester content also. All fabrics were pre-washed. Seams and panels are machine sewn, overlocked as well as top stitched. Lining seams are top stitched also.

MEASUREMENTS:
15.5" (39.5cm) across the front waist only.
20" (51cm) across the front hip only.
35" (89cm) long.

CARE:

The blue and white check lining fabric is new cotton. The skirt has three tiers with navy rolled hem edging.

Simple yet stunning! The purple didn't photograph accurately...it is a warmer bougainvilliea purple in reality. Limited edition...this is the only dress I have made like this so far, however, I would like to make more in different colours.

I bought the windcheating remnant thinking I'd make my son a pyjama top. Then, I imagined a simple check dress with red rose pockets...

This dress would look great with red, black, white or blue leggings.

The check fabric may be vintage, but it is in unused/perfect condition. The pockets are hand painted with setacolor fabric paint. I have heat set the paint and it won't wash off or fade (recommended washing temp 40 degrees C or less). The stretch pockets are cotton outer and poly/cotton lined. All fabrics were pre-washed before sewing.

Seams are overlocked and reinforced where needed. I have sewn tape into the shouler seams to maintain garment shape. Neat and secure finish. New stretch machine needles (ball point) used.

CARE: turn inside out to wash with like colours in cool water. Warm iron if required (not hot). A printed care label is sewn in to the back neck band, as one of the photos shows.

Bright lime green with orange and blue flowers is a stunning combination. I have never seen fabric like this before...I cut the dress from a vintage pillowcase and the fabric is in top conditon. The sleeve and ruffle at the hem are made from a previously unused vintage (cotton) lime green floral.

A stunning arty skirt with two layers. This skirt would look great teemed with black leggings for winter. The outer skirt has patchwork panels, an appliqued and hand painted rose, ric rac and ruffle details. The panels all compliment each other and include floral, tartan, black velvet, plain black and burgundy. The under skirt is crease resistant seersucker and this skirt is finished with a tartan ruffle which peeps out from under the outer skirt.
