This hand-made happy Buddha pendant, has an aged, weathered look for a more natural, earthy appeal. It has been distressed using burnt umber and gold mica particles as a wash. Let this pendant remind the wearer of peace, tranquility and happiness.

Buddha is presented on a brown, waxed-cotton strap that is adjustable in length. Accent beads of distressed red and white were added to frame this happy pendant. I enjoyed making this piece immensely: from shaping and sculpting the Buddha to finally distressing the cured clay, and weaving the necklace together. The adjustable leather strap forms a continuous never ending circle with Buddha, and was designed for this aesthetic look.

This bangle has a very natural, organic shape that is meant to be one of a kind. No piece is exactly the same and this bangle is meant for only one person. With it's delicate copper leafing that has been applied before curing, this piece really shines. The bangle has a smooth finish of gloss to protect from the elements. It should glide and fit nicely over your wrist.

This bangle was designed for the Edge Collection.
It was made by using multiple layers of clay. Once the copper leafing has been delicately applied to the bangle form, the clay is then cured. Finally, the inner circle of this bangle is left natural (black clay), while the green and copper shell have gloss applied, to really detail the shine and seal with that glossy finish!

The inner lining of the bangle bracelet is lined with black polymer clay for a natural finished feel. The exterior has a protective gloss that was applied after the silver mica particle wash.

Mokume Gane Clay Bangle Bracelet - Imperial Collection

This bracelet was handmade and sculpted using multiple layers of polymer clay. This bangle uses the mokume gane technique which came from Japanese metal sword smiths, to create a wood-grained pattern.

While mokume gane was typically used in pairing with the tsuba, sword guards, it's technique has been applied here in this clay bracelet. You can see the fine silver leafing that veins through this piece reminiscent of that wood grain effect. It alternates in coloring: using black, green, as well as genuine silver leaf.

It has been finished with a glossy protective coat that allows the piece to have a finished shine.

This bangle was designed for the Imperial Collection of bracelets. Let it inspire a respect to this 300-year-old Japanese metal sword (and holloware) smithing technique. The bracelet is also very durable, and water repellent.
