Quetzals are an important part of Mesoamerican mythology. The Aztecs and Mayans revered the quetzal as a god of air, goodness, and light. They also associated the bird with the snake god, Quetzalcoatl, the god of wind. The quetzal's tail feathers were considered a symbol of Quetzalcoatl and rulers and some nobility wore headdresses made from them. It was a crime to kill a quetzal because of their divine status. Their tail feathers were gathered by capturing one, plucking its feathers, and then setting it free. Tototl means "bird" in Aztec.

Mini Comic Book - A Taste of Paradise (A 24 Hour Comic) by Megan Baehr

A 24 hour comic is a challenge in which cartoonists endeavor to create a 24 page comic in 24 hours. In 2005, my local art museum hosted a 24 hour comic event which I attended. Steve Bissette, the co-creator of the 24 hour comic, was there to host it. "A Taste of Paradise" was my creation! Planned, scripted, drawn, lettered, and inked within a 24 hour period along with nearly 50 other cartoonists from Vermont, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.

"A Taste of Paradise" is about two friends who have been reunited for an innocent summer adventure. It's short and sweet with a little sass.

5.5" x 4.25" mini comic, 28 black and white interior pages (the comic itself is 24 pages), red card stock cover. Rated PG-13 for slight nudity (skinny dipping).

I found a clutch of seven dragon eggs abandoned by their mother. I couldn't leave them all alone so I took them home and kept them warm. One by one, they began to hatch! I can't keep them so I'm looking for good homes for them. Will you be the one to give this little dragon hatchling his forever home?

Meet Carnelian:

Carnelian's egg had a very tough shell. It took him a really long time to break free, but he never once gave up! Carnelian is very, very stubborn and won't let any obstacle stand in his way. This trait is a good one, but it can also be a challenging one. Carnelian would sooner breathe sparks at you than let you help him out of a bind. But while he thinks he can do everything himself, he does need someone with patience to look after him.

Carnelian stands about 4.5 inches (11cm) tall and is made with 100% wool felt.

My dolls are collectors' items and not intended for children. They function best as a lovely display pieces for your home, studio, office, or any place that needs a little cuteness!

She shows the most promise to grow up to be a talented fire breather. She's a nipper so watch your fingers. She needs someone with a strong heart and a firm hand. With discipline and lots of love, you will be sure to find an intensely loyal friend in Ruby.

Kunzite is a natural born flyer! She is far advanced in her arial talents for her tender age. She is a bit of a show-off, however, and loves to be the center of attention. She'll pull dangerous stunts, loopty-loops, and push herself to the limit just to get a gasp or a whoop out of onlookers. She would do best in a place where she can fly to her heart's content, but she needs a diligent caretaker to keep her safe.
