This treat of a bag is for anyone who loves batik fabrics but leans more toward softer colors.

I used a beautiful mix of pastel and slightly-bright 100% cotton quilting fabric. I machine quilted it in pairs of diagonal random wavy lines for maximum durability and easy care. This would make a great Easter Basket, useful all year!

This purse measures 10" x 10.5" and has a soft pink batik strap that measures approx. 40" long. It fastens shut with an antique pearlized button and tab. The lining is a pale yellow print cotton with little white floweers.

Machine wash and dry with like colors!

There's a scene at the end of the movie A Christmas Story where Ralphie's family has had their Christmas dinner ruined by the neighbor's dogs and goes to the only restaurant in town that was open--the local Chinese restaurant. The waiters there are trying to spread some Christmas cheer by singing "Deck the Halls" but sing the chorus "Fa-ra-ra-ra-ra..." instead.

THIS is my interpretation of that, behold the Fa-ra-ra-ra-ra bag! This beautiful, one of a kind purse is made from a mix of tremendous oriental fabrics and elegant Christmas prints. It is lined with a dark red Christmas print with gold metallic words like "Peace", "Joy to the World" and "Tis the season for loving"...nice reminders for us all.

100% cotton, quilt-quality fabrics. This purse is slightly larger than my others, the overall dimensions being approx. 10 1/2" wide by 11" tall. The strap is approx. 40" long, for cross-body (safe) carry or you can tie a knot in the top for a shoulder bag (or, not knot--I'm 5'8 and it suits me just fine without the knot.) Fastens shut with a button and tab.

This adorable little purse is specifically designed for children ages 2 and up. It is made from 100% cotton, quilt quality fabrics and batting. All buttons and snaps have been very securely sewn and applied! As a mother, safety is my first priority!

This concept has been around for ages, my own children have a doll like this. This purse is designed to help your children learn small motor skills as they begin to discover closures such as snaps, buttons, zippers, ties and velcro.

The strap has a working zipper on one side and a series of 6 metal gromets with a red ribbon laced through for practice in tying. The front of the purse has 2 flaps, securely sewn in. One flap snaps to the front of the bag with a pearlized snap and the other buttons with a large, blue plastic button and tab. The top of the bag has a tab that velcros shut with a small round of velcro (on the inside of the tab and the front of the bag) which has been sewn down.

Overall dementions are approx. 7"x6.5" and the strap is approx. 22" long, just perfect for little buddies!

100% machine washable though I do recommend removing the ribbon (which can be re-threaded, very easily with the use of a yarn needle) just so the ends don't fray too badly in the wash.) All buttons, snaps and velcro have been securely sewn on.

This is a great all-purpose bag! It has been machine pieced and quilted for durability and is machine washable. You can take it to the grocery store, eliminating a plastic bag--if it gets dirty, pop it in the washer. Or just dress up a pair of jeans

I was so excited when I came across the pink batik fabric with Breast Cancer Awareness messages in it. It says things like "Courage", "Hugs", "Survivor" and "Sisters". For this purse I paired it with a pretty green and pink large print floral.

It has a quilted "skeleton" made from muslin and cotton batting to give it some structure. The font and back are pleated; it is lined with an old school small floral fabric from Jinny Beyer. The strap is the same floral as the main part of the back and is padded over the shoulder for extra comfort. The strap attaches to the purse with gold metal D rings and the bag fastens shut at the top with a tab abd a vintage, pearlized button.

The purse measures 8.5" across the top, 11.5" at the widest point across the bottom and is 11" deep. The strap is approx 42" long, perfect for cross-body (safe) carry, but not too long to put over your shoulder.

When I was a child I read a series of books called "Adventures in Northwoods" by Lois Walfrid Johnson. These gorgeous, warm fall flannel fabrics in stunning reds, purples and greens reminded me of them.

This tote bag has been machine pieced and quilted, using the 100% cotton quilt-quality flannel fabrics from Moda's "Summer Nights and Northern Lights" line. It is lined with a coordinating print with a border of fall leaves across the top and scattered fall scenes across the bottom. The bag itself measures approx. 10.5" square and has an extra-long strap of approx. 50"! I am 5'8 and it is perfect thrown across my chest for "safe" carry. If you are shorter in stature though, the strap can be knotted at the top with no problem. The strap is made of different fabrics from the bag so is flannel and very soft.

It fastens shut with a tab and a handmade wooden button from recycled pear wood I obtained from another etsy seller ( http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=7373456 )

Since the outside and lining of the bag is squishy flannel and there is an inner layer of cotton batting it is quite padded and would make a perfect tote for a small laptop or camera!

This purse was a little experiment of mine, stretching my creativity just a little. The body is a pleated gorgeous blue civil war repro fabric with little mauve and cream colored roses on it. The cuff around the top, strap and button tab are a dark mauve/brown color, also a civil war repro. It has a very elegant charm about it.

It is lined with a very light cream tonal print fabric. One side of the lining has a pocket the entire width of the purse, the other side as a divided pocket (so 2).

The strap is 2.5" wide and padded with cotton batting, making it very easy on your shoulders no matter what you tote! It measures approx. 40" long so it just perfect for a shoulder bag! The purse fastens shut with a large, flat, antique pearlized button (from my Great-Grandmother's button stash).

The purse itself measures 10" wide by 11" tall. It is made from 100% cotton, quilt-quality fabrics which have all been prewashed to remove any excess dyes or sizing. Ready for wear! Also it is machine washable.

When I came across this crazy piece of 100% cotton quilting fabric I just knew it had to be some kind of really cool bag or tote!

This truly one of a kind tote has been machine quilted for durability. It has 2 notches shaped out of each side of the top of the flap making this bag ideal for carrying around a knitting project, the yarn can thread up through one of those very easily and you can knit while you walk!!

The lining is a cool and funky light canvas-like cotton fabric that has a bright red and white wonky checkerboard print--kind of like the table clothes on the pie tables on the outside of the bag!

It buttons shut with a plastic glittery button through the front flap. The strap connects to the bag by 2 silver metal "D" rings and is approx. 38-40" long, just perfect for cross body "safe" carry (as seen in the last pic on me and I am 5'8). The bag measures approx. 8.5" wide by 11" long.

This particular bag features a gold metallic applied, studded accent on the front that is a series of small stars.

The bag is lined with an '80s vintage Oriental red brocade fabric embroidered with metallic gold dragons; very elegant! Fastens shut with a tab and large, carved, vintage button.

I took the traditional "Sunbonnet Sue" block pattern and twisted it up. Here we have Very Bad Sue taking a relaxing motorycle ride! This block is an original designed by me. Sue has a cute little batik helmet, a nice bike, and even a little butterfly tattoo in the small of her back. Her tattoo, handles and fringe and well as the words "Bad Sue goes for a relaxing ride" have been drawn and heat set with permentent ink.

I surrounded my "Sue" block with my typical batiks and the back of the bag is all pieced batiks. It has a great black and red Betty Boop on motorcycles print for the lining and it zips shut across the top with a navy zipper. The 40" strap is perfect for cross-body wear and coupled with the zipper closure makes this a great bag to take on a motorcycle ride!!

100% cotton and comes from a pet-free, non-smoking home! If you have a bag in mind but don't see one like you want, feel free to convo me.

All my bags are machine washable if needed, but I recommend handwashing and hanging by the strap to dry.
Hot iron as needed.
