Purple is the color that is most commonly associated with royalty and nobility. Show off your royal self with this great tote.

This bag is made of water-proof fused purple plastic. It is lined with upcycled material that features a pocket to hold an i-pod, cell phone or handy pens and pencils.

The handles are a braided cotton and long enough to carry on your shoulder.

Since all materials were upcycled into this purse they do have some unique features - There are some numbers written on the purple plastic on the back corner - The Sunday NY Times newspaper was delivered one rainy morning in the purple plastic sac. The inner lining is made from Dad's cotton button up shirt that was snagged in a quite noticeable place and a bit too small.

The tote includes an ingredient list that details the components former lives.

Tarlo - A Scary Carrie Sock Monster upcycled creation

Tarlo is a fun and friendly sock monster who enjoys swimming (notice his front flappy arms) but is afraid of water.

This is a great gift for kiddos who are past chewing on toys (Tarlo doesn't care for slobber and is afraid his eyes could come off if someone were to chew on them).

Tarlo is made from old socks who lost their sole mate. Don't worry though about Tarlo smelling funky - the socks were throughly cleaned and washed before production of Tarlo began.

Tarlo was hand and machine sewn.

-Stands about 21 inches tall, measures close to 10 inches wide
-He is stuffed with fluff and weighs close to nothing

Handmade and upcycled, embroidered necktie. This necktie is made from an old flannel from my bro-in-law. There is an oh so subtle embroidered pink uterus on the bottom.
This is definitely a unique, one-of-a-kind tie. Perfect for that hard to shop for brother or step-dad that you would enjoy seeing blush... when he figures out what is on his tie.

-Standard not-so-fat, not-so-thin adult necktie
-Machine and hand stitched by me.
-Blue, tan, white and more blue flannel; pink uterus

-Caring for this tie is simple - hand-wash when needed or better yet take it to the cleaners and let them clean it. Warm iron.
-It's green! This material used to make this tie came from a once worn shirt. But don't worry the material was washed before hand.

There are a variety of ways you can quickly expand your vocabulary. How about wearing word of the day ties?

I have been thinking about taking the GRE and flipping through GRE study books. I have come across many words that I would like to remember for everyday use. Here's one of my new tricks for learning new words and using new words everyday.

Fungible: (adjective) interchangeable

The Fungible word-of-the-day tie is a standard adult size tie. This word of the day tie is not your typical silk tie. Instead it is a unique tie made from a clean (but used, not too much though... there are no holes) upcycled T-shirt (jersey knit)

This tie is a one-of-a-kind tie however I can make similar ties but nothing exactly the same. I would love to make custom ties for you, your groomsmen, your dad or favorite teacher - what word-of-the-day do you want on your tie?

The word of the day tie is easy to care for - hand washing is recommended.
