I made this fiery 20 inch bead crochet necklace with a riot of seed beads and fire polished beads in varying shades of red, with a few purple seed beads for highlights. I was interested in seeing how the different shades of red flowed from one to the next, and in the transitions from one red to the next. I was also fascinated by where the purply-red beads could fit in smoothly. The necklace ends are capped with solid sterling silver cones and finished with a sterling toggle clasp.

Garnet and green, oh my!

This beautiful 24 inch bead crochet necklace is loaded with hundreds of garnet rounds and chips and green semi-precious rounds.

Violet, celery and teal seed beads were added to the garnets and green semi-precious rounds and the beads were crocheted in a fascinating repeating pattern.

Finally, a peyote stitch slide made with seed beads and two small garnet rounds was added before the necklace was finished with a 6 inch length of garnet chips and green semi-precious gem rounds.

This necklace has substantial weight due to the quantity of gems used, compared to a similar size necklace made only with glass beads.

I guess I must be hungry, because when I look at this necklace, all I can think of is celery and black olives!

This 18.5 inch bead crochet necklace was made with seed beads in three different sizes, which results in a subtle wave shape. The largest beads are matte black, the middle size have a turquoise-like finish and the smallest are clear celery green and moss green lined.
