Amber brown Copper Wrapped Beach Glass Pendant

$20.00
My wife thinks this pendant looks a little like Marlo Thomas' hair from the TV show *That Girl*. I thought maybe it looked a little like a funny face, with wonky eyes and a long nose, albeit upside down.

Beachglass is glass found along the shores of oceans, seas, and very large lakes. It found its way into the water by being onboard a ship that sank, being tossed in as rubbish, or by some similar manner.

Over time, (Some of this glass is over a hundred years old. Some is hundreds of years old.) the action of the waves and sand round off the sharp edges, while the acidity or alkilinity of the water etches the glass, giving it a smooth, frosted finish. It takes years for this process to form the broken pieces of glass into true gems of the water, sometimes referred to as *Mermaid's Tears*.
The disks/domes are approximately 3/4 inch across.

Copper will tarnish over time, and will need to be polished occasionally, if the bright finish is to be maintained.

I am a recycler. These disks are formed from US copper cents. Some may have a slight shadow of image remaining on the rear, but the fronts are clear.

The fourth picture shows the earrings beside the matching bracelet and necklace. Note that this listing is for the earrings only. Matching Necklace can be found here: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=13834882
and the bracelet here: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=13858859
-------------------------------------------------------

Wearing copper jewelry is a long-term folk remedy for arthritis. While this information is controversial, a double-blind study in Australia concluded that copper jewelry reduced pain and inflammation. The hypothesis is that copper is absorbed through the skin and chelated to another compound that exerts and anti-inflammatory action. Copper is part of ceruloplasmin and SOD (superoxide dismutase), compounds that have antioxidant activity that may contribute benefits to the treatment of arthritis (Murray, 1996).

International buyers are welcomed, and international shipping will be calculated dependant upon your location.

(Length can be altered, if requested, for a small charge.) The finish is natural, and has been hand polished for a nice sheen.

The connectors are formed from recycled copper wire which I formed into *S* links. I wasn't pleased with the way the original toggle clasp looked , so I replaced it with a custom, hand forged copper clasp.

The last picture shows the necklace with the matching bracelet and earrings. Note that this listing is for the necklace only.
A Touch of Glass Smoky Gray Lake Erie Beach Glass set in Hand Made Copper Bezel

$40.00
Dark Smoky almost an amethyst tinted Lake Erie beach Glass. This is a thick chunk, and is very old, as the surface marking shows. Nicely frosted and set into a custom handmade bezel.

The bezel was hand formed from a single piece of 14 ga. copper wire, hammered flat, formed around the glass, and soldered shut. The bezel and retaining bands have been polished to a high shine, as has the hand made bail.

A lot of work went into this piece, but I think the end result is worth the time spent.

Leather cord shown only to display the pendant, and is not included with the pendant.

The colors are amazing, and the pictures don't do them justice.

{According to New Age healers, Copper can stimulate the flow of energy and hence move Psychic or Mental energies thereby helping the wearer overcome lethargic tendencies, resulting in a more vitalized person with amplified thoughts. They also attribute powers of communication, channeling, cleansing, purification, increasing self-esteem and freeing the wearer of mental burdens.

Beginning in the 1970s in the United States, Copper use as a healing agent began to see an increase. People who believe in its power esteem it as a very powerful assistant with Arthritic and Rheumatic diseases, but also look to it for its healing properties in improving the circulation of blood, increasing energy, detoxification, reducing inflammation, stabilizing metabolism and improving Oxygen use.-(jewelrysupplier.com)}
