I have this dream of taking a leisurely trip around our country. Along the way I will meet and chat with people. On a park bench. In the local hardware store. Perhaps in line at the post office or standing at a street corner waiting for a green light. People from all walks of life with life experiences to share. That would be heavenly. And I'd write a book and share the stories with the world. But, I cannot do that right now. Maybe not ever. So, I am starting here. Making connections, shortening the distance with words on paper. And on a smaller scale.

This listing is for one handwritten letter, from the heart, from me to you* ~ with an extra surprise. Each letter is individual and I could never describe it ahead of time, however, here are some general guidelines:

I will write the letter in ink, by hand and this one includes one of my joonwalk ™ true blue vintage vocabulary card pendant necklaces. My letters contain touches of my illustration and/or collage artwork.

This is the FIRST flying housewife listing of its kind - where the extra is a handmade item crossover from another of my etsy shops. Like all of my letter packets, this one forwards my philosophy of bringing back the best of the past into our lives today. From my joonwalk description: Wear your heart on your sleeve with my vintage vocabulary necklaces. Each one OOAK. Handcrafted with love. true blue and you ~ define your day.

Quality ball chain, hand cut ~ 24". I laminate and hand trim each 3.5 X 1.5" card. Definition of each word on reverse in green print. You may request a word from those shown here in photo 3, or if you prefer the element of surprise, I can choose one for you. I have many. They are an eclectic lot! If you would like to give me a hint about your personality (or that of your gift recipient), I will bear that in mind.

For example: The necklace shown in photos 1 & 2 is Scout's(and not available!). It represents her love for a favorite 'What's Up Doc?' film line: 'Don't you know the meaning of propriety?' delivered perfectly by the wonderful Madeline Kahn in her major motion picture screen debut as Eunice Burns. PS. The film is a must see.

The sample photos here serve as glimpses into my style, interests & personality. The third & fourth photos show samples of the types of things that I tuck into my packets. I rarely have duplicates of anything, I have a huge variety of things not shown here and find more all the time. Each packet is truly OOAK. I do not gather your items until I start to work on your letter. Your packet will contain extras chosen specifically for you. This sample shows you my idea of what a crafty old~school housewife might like. :)

Dear Friend,

I have this dream of taking a leisurely trip around our country. Along the way I will meet and chat with people. On a park bench. In the local hardware store. This listing is for one handwritten letter, from the heart, from me to you*. Each letter is individual and I could never describe it ahead of time, however, you can expect:

I will write the letter in ink, by hand and include one handmade Mister Rogers Roger That Pinback Button. This button and phrase is my original design and, as you can see from the photo, original art - not prints. These are representative as each one is handmade.

We love Mister Rogers and everything about his character and his humanitarian philosophy: respect for the earth, her people and animals, education, courtesy and kindness. If you do too, this is the letter package for you. When you wear this button, you spread the message of one world, one neighborhood, where everyone is a special friend just the way they are.

Additionally, all of my letters contain my own original OOAK artwork in the form of illustration, collage, mixed media, or my horse linocuts.

Then you glance at that stack of mail on the coffee table and find a letter peeking out from under the latest Sears catalog --- and inside, oh my stars! - a sweet little handmade surprise. Ah... those were the days. {They're here again.}
