Here is a stylish accessory for you and your guests. This set consists of one wine bottle stopper (no more trying to squeeze that cork back in, or using plastic wrap!) and four wine glass charms. The beads in this set are all made using Italian soft glass, a great combination of purples, blues, greens, oranges, and cream. The swirls and striations in this glass reminds me of tie-dye, and the funky flowers really fit the theme!

The stopper: Chrome plated, with flexible rubber in the center for a snug fit. The round bead is about 27mm in diameter.

The charms: No more wondering whose glass is whose! These charms each consist of one handmade glass bead, each with a different shape - square, diamond, round and lentil - for identifying everyone's wine glass. Each is embellished with Bali silver beads and purple Swarovski crystals. They sit on round silver plated rings that have a diameter of approximately 22mm, making them suitable for almost all wine glass stems.

Lampwork beaded bookmark

I love to read, but I was getting tired of ruining my pages by giving them the ol' dog-ear treatment! Unfortunately, my paper bookmarks all seem to get lost before my book is done. Then I came across these little silver plated bookmarks, all ready to be dressed up with my lampwork beads. So I combined two of my favorite pastimes, reading and beading, and made enough to pass a few along too!

This one has two little (9mm by 15mm) beads, that are bright lime green over white cores, and surrounded by little white dots, then etched. They each hang between four seed beads in shades of green, and hang from a short silver plated chain. The bookmark itself is 9 cm in length, and its hook hangs over the spine of your book. This is just too cute to lose!

Lampwork earrings - Ruby Lustre

This is a pair of classy little earrings, each of which features a bead of deep red transparent glass that has a satiny finish on it. This varies the appearance of these beads depending on the light that surrounds them, from a metallic plum to a rich see-through ruby color. Each of these neat little beads measures approx. 10mm by 6mm, is sandwiched between two little hematite-colored seed beads and dangles in the center of a sterling silver loop, measuring 17 mm in diameter. The ear wires and wire used in this set are also sterling silver.

This fused glass plate, in shades of aqua and ice, speaks to me of expansion, liberation, like a restless river, as it finally reaches the ocean, where it is greeted, with delight, by tiny playful bubbles! A refreshing addition to your table!

The photographs were taken in different lighting conditions.

Measuring 22.5 cm square, this plate has a gentle inward slope to a depth of about 1 cm. Proper annealing in my digitally controlled kiln ensures the longevity of this plate under normal conditions. It will, of course, likely shatter if dropped upon a hard surface!

Pretty and practical! This is a lovely cheese tray that was created by firing a dark blue wine bottle in my glass kiln, and allowing it to slump in on itself. The result is an interesting serving platter, ideal for cheeses or pickles. It is accented with artificial grapes and a ribbon bow in your choice of red with a hint of silver, or green and gold. These are attached to a beaded elastic ring, so the whole decoration can slide right on and off the neck of the bottle - perfect for washing up! It measures 30cm x 11 cm (approx. 12" x 4.5").

Lampwork necklace - Timeless Lantern

This beautiful necklace features my handmade lampwork bead made with an incredible glass that changes color depending on the amount of heat given to each area. The vast array of hues, from pale yellows through deep blue, and everything in between, are blended together by way of dramatic wavelike swirls throughout the surface of the bead. To me, it has the look of an antique oil painting, and has a bit of surface texture as well. This bead is approximately 40 mm long, and sits between two slightly oversize antiqued copper bead caps.

Finished off with an antiqued 70 mm (27") copper chain, this necklace is built long, and designed to have the pendant hanging at the breastbone level. However, if you desire a shorter chain, I will gladly modify it to the length of your choice, and apply an antiqued copper clasp at no charge.

This luxurious necklace combines the colors of the desert and fresh, flowing water. It features a focal bead that is a wispy, swirly mixture of opaque and transparent glasses in greens, blues and browns, with a sparkly ribbon of goldstone as well.

Jolly Jellies choker

I must have candy on the brain lately! This choker features a handmade glass pendant bead that is joyful and colorful, and has dots of transparent orange glass that instantly make me think of ju jubes, gummies, marmalade, you get the picture...

The bead I'm describing is about 25mm by 18mm in size. It is made from transparent purple glass upon a base of white, then decorated with dots of pale aqua and light orange on top of dots of white, to really bring out the colors! I left the orange dots with a little bit of height to add dimension, and give the bead some smooth-bumpy tactile appeal. The bead is accented with Bali silver spacers above and beneath, and two Swarovski crystals, in coordinating colors, dangling below. It is finished off with a handmade sterling silver bail that is simple, yet pretty. The pendant sits upon a strand of memory wire that is coated in a flexible, translucent purple sheath for comfort and style. The memory wire stretches out to more than 18" in length, and crosses over at the back of the neck. It sits very securely; it won't come off until it is taken off!

If you have another idea for hanging this pendant, I am willing to sell it separately for $15. One option to consider is an 18" sterling silver snake chain, available in my Etsy shop for $10. Please Convo me prior to purchasing, if you want this alternative.

"Nubbies" are what I call raised dots in lampworking. They add tactile satisfaction to a piece, as well as added visual dimension.

Summer Set in Somerset

I'm just joking, these beads aren't in Somerset, they're in my Edmonton home studio, waiting to be shipped to their new home with you! However, Somerset is a lovely seaside county in England, not far from Weymouth, where I spent my childhood summers with my grandparents. So, when I named these beads simply "Summer Set", (because I think it is a very summery set), it immediately made me think of Somerset, and lovely English seashores.

Enough blathering, now about the beads! This set consists of one bright and joyful rectangular focal bead, measuring 36mm x 19mm x 6mm thick, along with 10 spacer beads in coordinating shades of greens and blues. Handmade sterling silver and lampwork neckpiece - Stepping Stones

Here is a very posh handmade collar-length neckpiece, featuring one of my favorite lampwork focal beads, a spherical beauty that measures 19mm (3/4") in diameter. A combination of deep, silvery blue, and light green transparent over over ivory are inspired by my favorite theme in nature, water. The organic appearance of the ivory is like a thirsty riverbed. Silver glass can be difficult to photograph. It's usually prettier in life! The blue areas of this bead are from glass with silver in it, and they have a lovely reflective sheen. This bead is finished off with delicate sterling silver bead caps, and a series of Zwarovski crystals.

The bead hangs from a neckwire of hammered 14 gauge sterling silver wire. It is strong and holds its shape very well. Two Bali silver oblong beads lay at the bottom of the wire, to draw attention to the focal area. The clasp is a simple and unobtrusive hook and loop. A gentle patina has been applied to the silver, to add a little depth.

Triton Dots big hole bead for Troll bracelet

This little bead has a 4mm hole that will allow it to fit on Troll bracelets. It will be a beautiful addition to your collection. It is not big enough for Pandora or Biagi bracelets.

It is made on a base of cream colored glass, with dots of different sizes on the surface. The larger dots are from Triton, one of my favorite glasses, and one with high silver content for cool metallic effects. Inside each of these I laid a dot of dark red, which automatically grew a ring of white, and one of black around them. I love the really neat surprise reactions in lampworking! Smaller, bright red dots add contrast to the bead. It measures 16mm across by 9mm thick, and is finished off with a fancy little sterling silver rivet sitting securely in each hole.

Arctic Storm necklace

I just fell in love with this bead as soon as it was made. Various shades of white, icy cool blues and a touch of peach in the sky, made into wisps and waves give the bead a paradoxical feel of dramatic turbulence and serenity at the same time. How can that happen? While the image is one of a storm at sea, the colors are cool and calming, and the color blends are soft and subtle, largely in part by the use of enamels in this bead. A thin band of blue aventurine around each end gives it a touch of added sparkle.

I opted for a simple setting to highlight the focal bead, so it is set between two conical sterling silver bead caps, and has a simple double loop bail that is made from fine (99.9% pure) silver, with a tiny ball at the bottom to hold the bead on. It is strung onto a sterling silver Omega chain, that is 1.2mm in diameter, and 16" in length. A closeup of the links and the clasp are shown. The chain is stiff, and holds its shape, making this a relatively short necklace, that places the pendant bail right in the little hollow of my medium-sized neck. The pendant measures 48mm not including the bail.

Going Green earrings

These earrings each consist of two lampwork beads made by me, in very different shades and styles of green. The larger beads, on the tops, are a mixture of three different greens in transparent and opaque glasses, with added dots and swirls of metallic and clear glass. Among this mix of greenery, is one shade of very bright, yellowy-green glass, that matches the smaller beads, on the bottoms. The larger beads measure 16mm by 12mm, and the smaller beads are 12mm by 7mm. The earrings, finished off in lightweight sterling silver bead caps, spacers and ear hooks, are about 33mm long from the bottoms of the hooks.

Conch Shell lampwork earrings

These very dainty earrings feature beads whose color and texture is that of the delicate inside of a conch shell. Very pretty, feminine, slightly translucent pink gently transforms to a soft caramel color as it runs from top to bottom. The surface of these little beads is studded with little dots of fine silver, reminiscent of the texture of the seashell. It is this silver that caused the change in color of the bead, by way of fuming the original pink, while being worked in the flame.

The 11mm by 8mm beads dangle from sterling silver chain, and sterling silver jump rings. Two tiny pink glass beads accent each bead. The headpins are fine silver with a little ball at the ends, and were made by me.

These earrings measure 53mm from the bottom of the sterling silver hooks.

Blue polymer clay donut necklace - Galaxy Shuffle

This lovely necklace features a large donut focal bead, showing off softly shifting shades of shimmery blue. Made using the mokume gane technique for polymer clay, this dreamy pendant measures approx. 40 mm in diameter by 6 mm thick. The use of pearlized clay invites sunlight to play with it, in a way that cannot be captured by still photography.

It is 36 inches long, by 1/2 inch wide, and can be simply tied behind the neck at the desired length. Or,if you prefer, it can be cut to length and given a sterling silver clasp for an additional $4.00.

Here is a fused glass pendant, made with transparent amethyst colored glass, with a layer of dichroic in colors of blue and purple, all capped with a piece of clear glass for protection and smoothness. Atop this glass is a daffodil, in 22k gold, kiln-fused permanently in place. The pendant measures 25mm by 32mm, not including the gold plated bail.

These lovely little earrings are the perfect match for the Daffodil pendant in my shop, or they'll look great on their own! lampwork beaded bookmark

I love to read, but I was getting tired of ruining my pages by giving them the ol' dog-ear treatment! Unfortunately, my paper bookmarks all seem to get lost before my book is done. Then I came across these little silver plated bookmarks, all ready to be dressed up with my lampwork beads. So I combined two of my favorite pastimes, reading and beading, and made enough to pass a few along too!

This one has two little (8mm by 11mm) beads, of swirly fuchsia and clear glass. They each hang between two 5mm shiny burgundy 5mm beads (these are not handmade). They hang from a short silver plated chain. The bookmark itself is 9 cm in length, and its hook hangs over the spine of your book. This is just too cute to lose!

lampwork bead set - Colors in Clay

This earthy set is etched for a soft finish, and is made using turquoise and red earth colored glass with copper in it, over a base of stonelike glass. One focal bead and 14 spacers, in pairs, are in this set. The focal is 36 x 29 x 9mm, ten spacers measure avg. 10 x 6mm, and four red spacers are approx. 7 x 4mm. The corresponding seed beads are store bought, but they are included as well.
