Burlington Vermont is a picturesque little city blessed with beautiful historic buildings, a vibrant community mixed with college students and professionals, and the gorgeous scenery of Lake Champlain.

Lake Champlain is one of the larger lakes in the United States, and the view from The Boat House deck in Burlington is particularly breathtaking with the expanse of crystal clear waters punctuated by the Adirondak mountains of New York on the opposite side. On this particular day the sky had been completely cloudless the entire day. The sun was beginning to set. Blazingly brilliant colors were bathing the deck and the umbrellas at the dining tables were glowing. It was the perfect day.

This is an original oil painting signed by the artist Brenda Gartman as "BGartman" in the lower right corner.

In my dreams my soul takes flight, and joins the the others in the night. The moon, the stars, they light my way to find my love by break of day.

Gorgeous midnight blue iridized glass is the canvas for this night scene. Luminous pearlized clouds, and a dichroic blue moon glow softly against the dark base, appearing to be held within the glass. Subtle highlights of 22 kt gold appear on the birds wings.

I've designed this glass art bracelet with one solid piece of fused glass as the main section of the bracelet, secured with a beaded bracelet and copper magnetic clasp. The accent beads are dichroic glass, New Jade, Tiger's Eye, Garnet, and Swarovski crystal.

Featured on the glass cuff is a three dimensional bird whose body is raised above the surface of his forrest backdrop. The bird is lavender, with plum colored accents for the wings and eye.

The main color of the cuff is pale, soft lavender with a slight hint of mauve. In the background is the suggestion of trees, detailed with green branches, shimmering dichroic leaves, and transparent tree trunks in olive and amber glass.

This piece is absolutely beautiful.

The overal appearance is inspired by Art Nouveau florals, with flowing teal lines detailing fabulous pearlized white berries, and pearlized trumpet flower. Accents of real 22kt gold highlight the curves of the leaves, berries and the flower.

The background glass color is by Bullseye, in a soft powder blue. The beads accenting the bangle bracelet a mix of dichroic glass, natural Moonstone, dyed Apatite New Jade, crystal, and glass.

Absolutely amazing solid bronze medallion, with a window of shimmering dichroic glass. This is actual solid bronze metal, made from the fantastic new bronze metal clay- not clay, not polymer clay, but actual solid bronze metal similar in color and texture and durability to an antique Roman coin.

Suspended from a 16" antique brass chain, the medallion measures approximately 1 3/8" long x 1" wide, with the crystal and bronze accent dangling an additional 1 1/2" in length.

Lily Pond necklace

I love my pond. I have the most beautiful water lilies that bloom all summer long, frogs that entertain me with their songs while they lounge on lotus leaves, and a waterfall as a melody in the background.

I've paid homage to my little pond with this pendant of 99.9% Pure Silver (PMC, or precious metal clay), with hand sculpted details: one of my little frogs sitting on a lily pad, iris, and waterlilies with genuine golden saphire in the center. The beauty of the reflective waters are captured using many layers of dichroic glass. A water drop shaped pearl swings freely from the bottom of the pendant.
A permanent patina has been applied to the silver to finish the pendant.

Essential Elements WATER necklace

I designed and made this necklace as part of a series that I'm working on, inspired by Earth's elements:

Water

The focal bead in this beautiful necklace is a fused glass pendant of a fish that I created. The fish is raised 3-dimensionally from his shimmery, irridescent water colored background, and highlighted with real 22kt gold hand-applied to the surface. Real bubbles are captured within the background that the fish appears to be swimming in, giving the backdrop glass a slightly convex shape on the surface.

The multiple layers and sizes of chain are all gold-plated, accented with dichroic glass, natural stones, crystal, and Czech glass aquamarine. A simple gold-plated toggle clasp closes the necklace.

That's what I said when I opened my kiln door and saw how pretty these glass drops turned out.

I like that you can see earrings from both the front and the back when you're wearing them. I think that they should be beautiful from both directions, which is easy with glass, especially transparent dichroic glass that has amazing light reflection.

Solid sterling silver ear wires, dichroic glass accented with liquid platinum swirls that have been kiln fired and are a permanent decoration on the glass.
