Beautiful vintage wiggle dress with a purple, blue, white and black abstract print. Slash neckline (lower at the back). Short sleeves. Nipped waist with soft gathers and a lovely bow decoration at the left. Rear enclosed zip with a hook fastener at the top and two at the waist. The skirt is lined. Small rear split measuring 6 inches (15cm).

Labelled: Your Demi-DRESS Made in England. 34.

Vintage 60s Sari Suit Skirt Suit with Beaded Jacket Size Large

Vintage 60's sari skirt suit. Very high-quality piece. Made from silk chiffon with a cotton gauze lining. The workmanship, especially on the jacket, is truly remarkable.

Starting with the jacket. It has a narrow, almost heart-shaped neckline. Front opening with nine hook fasteners. Padded shoulders. The arms are slightly gathered at the top and taper into a narrow cuff. The outer edges of the jacket are decorated with a triple layer of gold coloured beads and the rows of beads have metallic yarn sewn either side.

There’s a pattern repeat on the front panels and on each sleeve. These patterns are made up of large triangular shapes which are edged with organic motifs sewn with gold braid, beads and metallic yarn. Each large triangular shape is encrusted with seven mother-of-pearl beads. In between the large triangles are placed smaller triangles, each with a mother-of-pearl bead placed in centre. The back of the jacket is plain with no beads or metallic yarn. It’s lined in a coordinating cotton fabric. The jacket on its own weighs almost 1kg (2 lbs).

The skirt has a two 2 inch (5cm) wide, elastic waistband and fastens at the side with two sturdy hook fasteners. The skirt is full and decorated at the front only with small triangles measuring approximately 2½” x 2 ½” (6.5cm x 6.5cm). Each triangle has a mother-of-pearl bead placed in the centre with gold braid, beads and metallic yarn, mirroring the jacket. The skirt is lined with cotton fabric.

These garments can be worn as a suit or separately with other things. Narrow, tailored silk trousers will look great teamed with the jacket and perhaps a cropped top or bolero style would look great with the skirt.

Not labelled. Should be suitable for a UK size 14-16 (US 12-14). The chest circumference is 40” (101.5cm) maximum.

Condition:
Excellent. No missing buttons or beads. There’s a very faint, tiny mark on the front shoulder (left side) measuring about ½” (1.5cm) which is hardly noticeable. Exquisite long-length night dress by Janet Reger (read designer notes below). This gown dates from the 1980's. Cream with beige lace trim. Wrap-over gown fastening with a tie inside and three fabric covered buttons on the left. Spaghetti straps (non-adjustable).

She had a manufacturing business, a shop in Knightsbridge and supplied major stores in Britain and abroad. Over the years her clients have included a range of celebrities from Princess Diana, Jerry Hall and Rod Stewart. Her daughter Aliza helped run the company since 1998.

Stunning puff sleeve vintage dress by Pat Sandler. Softly gathered, round neckline. Rear enclosed zip fastener. Long, puff sleeves that gather into cuffs (no cuff opening). Drop waist with flirty, pleated skirt. The bodice and sleeves are lined, the pleated skirt is not.

Includes the ILGWU (International Ladies Garment Workers Union) label which dates this dress somewhere between 1963 and 1974.

The fabric is so eye-catching. It's a blue, pink and green chiffon with a paisley print. There are wavy lines of gold metallic thread which run through the fabric in vertical and horizontal lines.

This unique vintage dress will be a real talking point at any party or special occasion!

Outstanding vintage maxi dress in sumptuous gold, satin jacquard. V-neckline with rolled, reveres collar. Cropped sleeves with gathered cuffs. The cuffs close with a large, enclosed stud fastener and one fancy button on each to decorate.

Front opening with front placket that encloses six large stud fasteners plus a hook fastener at the waist. The skirt section is lined.

This dress includes a matching fabric belt with two fancy buttons and stud fasteners. The gold buttons are fabulous and very high quality. They are made from metal and embellished with brown, bevelled rhinestones.

CACHAREL (1932) is Jean Louis Henri Bousquet who now goes by Jean Cacharel. Cacharel went to Paris from his native Nimes in the 1950's. He had studied to be a tailor, but found making women's clothing more to his liking. In the late 50's he started the Cacharel line, and began making the product for which the company became known - women's shirts. Along with designer Emmanuelle Khanh (who worked at Cacharel 1962-67), they developed what became THE shirt of the mid 60's - a closely fitted shirt that was based on the traditional man's shirt. In 1965, they began making these shirts from Liberty prints, and they were an immediate fashion hit. In 2000, husband and wife design team Clements Ribeiro were hired as head designers for Cacharel, and in 2002, Celia Birtwell joined Cacharel as a fabric designer.

I love these vintage PJs!!! Fantastic deep aqua colour. All in one pajama with lacy top. Cross-over front (no fastenings). Capped sleeves. The lacy bodice is lined at the front with thin, white nylon and trimmed with blue silky binding. The bodice is quite 'see-through' even with the lining at the front.

Elastic waist with cute bow on the left side. Wide-leg trousers that taper in at the hem.

These glamorous pajamas are perfect for elegant lounging and are super comfy! Treat yourself or someone special this Christmas!

If you love 'soft and feminine', you're going to love this pretty vintage scarf. It's made from chiffon or a chiffon/nylon blend in the palest blue colour. It has a rolled hem in contrasting pink. Each end has a darker blue border, decorated with a ditsy garland of flowers. The main section of the scarf has a printed design of blue/pink flowers with green foliage. Not labelled.

Vintage 60s Dress Cocktail Dress by Melbray of London Size Medium to Large

Outstanding vintage 60's cocktail dress by Melbray of London. Semi-fitted shape. Slash/Oval-shaped neckline. Rear enclosed metal zip fastener. Long net sleeves with flocked polka-dots. The sleeves flare out from the elbow into a wonderful handkerchief shape. The sleeves are decorated with black suede ribbon at the elbow. This elegant dress is fully lined.

Fabric content isn't noted on the label but it appears to be rayon-crepe with a black acetate lining. Exceptional quality garment with superb drape quality. Dry clean only.

Melbray of London was a high-end boutique label popular during the 1950's and 1960's. The only other example of this label (that I've been able to find) is in the Manchester Costume Gallery, England.

Lovely floral robe by Lorraine. Made from soft, diamond pointelle nylon. Front opening with six fabric covered, blue buttons (spare button sewn onto the interior side seam). Peter Pan collar with blue piping and delicate lace trim. Short, puff sleeves with lace trim. Flattering empire-line shape. Lovely 'shabby chic' style.

Labelled: Lorraine. 100% nylon.

Beautiful cream night dress with plunging neckline front and low, v-shaped back (slightly lower at the back). The front includes an organza insert on each side with pretty pink embroidered flowers and cut-out detail. Also edged with cream lace around the outer edges of the neckline, arm holes and hem.

A very elegant, sexy night dress! It dates from the eighties but has a real antique look, quite reminiscent of the styles around in the twenties and early thirties.

This garment has been newly washed and pressed. Simply unwrap the tissue paper and wear!

Lovely vintage jacket by Monsoon (UK) dating from the late 1980’s. Black silky Jacquard fabric with red, turquoise and blue floral design. Single-breasted with four large mother-of-pearl button fasteners.

Pointed revers collar/lapel. Two front pockets with flap closure. The pockets are still stitched which means they’ve never been used. Lovely fitted shape with back split measuring 14½” (37cm). The jacket has been cut so that the front opens at the hemline into a V-shape. Lightly padded shoulders. Fully lined.

Made from 49% nylon, 51% polyester. Lining made from 100% acetate. Dry clean only (read care label).

This garment is perfect for occasion wear. Team it with tailored trousers, skirts or a little black dress. Wear it casually with skinny jeans and spiky boots. A stylish and versatile addition to your vintage, retro collection.

Vintage 50s Baby Blouse Silk Childs Top Cream Off White Age 12 Months 1 Year

Adorable vintage blouse for baby dating from the 1950's. Suitable for a boy or girl. Made from silk, it's cream with short sleeves and turned-back cuffs with ruffle trim. Peter Pan collar with matching ruffle trim and four tiny pin-tucks running down the front (two on each side). Front placket with ruffle trim, decorated with four buttons. The blouse is secured at the front with six hook-and-eye fasteners beneath the placket. Elastic hem.

Labelled: The Silver Web.

The measurements provided are of the actual garment. There is no size label in a garment of this age so I recommend measuring a similar blouse or top to make sure the fit is suitable. This blouse is designed to fit loosely.

Vintage 80s Wool Suit Trouser Suit by Betty Barclay Chocolate Brown Pin Stripe Large

Smart vintage 80's trouser suit by Betty Barclay (see designer notes below). Long, boxy jacket with V-shaped neckline and rolled, reveres collar. Single-breasted fastening with three buttons at the front. Two front pockets with flaps. Long sleeves with one button decorating the end. Small central rear split measuring almost 7 inches (17.5cm). Softly padded shoulders. Fully lined, including sleeves.

The trousers have a side zip fastener. Wide at the top, tapering to narrower hems. Not gathered around the waist so they will lie flat against the hip and tummy area. The trousers are not lined.

Lovely dark chocolate fabric with a cream top stitching running through to give a pin-stripe effect. Made from 45% wool, 55% polyester. The lining is made from 100% viscose. Dry clean only.

This suit has been dry cleaned. Simply unwrap the tissue paper and wear!

This garment is a great investment and such a versatile addition to your vintage wardrobe. Mix and match with other pieces to achieve a different look each time. The jacket can be teamed with t-shirt and jeans for a paired-down yet elegant look or wear the suit with ankle or spikey boots to provide a more edgy look. Different scarves can also achieve the same effect.

Betty Barclay was not an actual person, but was the name given to this line of ready-to-wear clothing. The company was owned by the Jonathan Logan company, one of the largest clothing manufacturers in the USA. In 1955 German textile maker Max Berk acquired the German license to make Betty Barclay clothing for the European market. Daily Sketch, Modern Girls Annual, Edited by Frances Rowan. Pictorial hard cover in pink and grey with matching paper cover protector. No publisher's details given, only printers (Morrison and Gibb, London and Edinburgh). Dates from the 1950's.

Inside paper cover states: 'A new Annual for modern girls of 9 to 14 years - but there are many things of interest for girls of all ages. Stories and articles are beautifully illustrated and there are two full-colour sections of special interest.'

A lovely book to add to your vintage collection or a unique gift for someone special.

Illustrated endpapers and title page. Super colour, part-coloured and black and white drawings throughout including an eight full-page colour section in the centre entitled 'Dressing Up' illustrated by the wonderful artist, Jill Francksen. There's also an eight page colour cartoon of 'Round the World in Eighty Days.' Numerous stories, puzzles and articles. All the puzzles remain intact with no scribblings or drawings by the previous owner. :)

Internally clean and tidy with minimal foxing and yellowing. Penned inscription on the inside paper cover by the previous owner as shown in the last photograph. Little wear to boards. Spine still tight. Dust jacket has four small tears and a little wear to the end of each spine but the hard back book shows minimal wear. The colours are still bright. 196 pages.

A stunning original vintage 70's dress in electric blue. Made by Winsley. Simple shoulder straps (non-adjustable). Ruched bodice with two vertical lines of rhinestones. Full circle skirt. Rear enclosed zip. Fully lined. Washed and ready to wear.

This is such a great party dress. Team it with sparkly silver jewels or with a sequin neck scarf as shown (not included in this sale). A white vintage fur stole will also look great with this.

Gorgeous brocade vintage jacket by Vera Mont. This dates from the early 1970's. Narrow shoulders. This jacket is predominantly brown with a large cream and beige paisley weave. There's gold metallic thread running through which makes this perfect for evening wear.

Low, V-neck front with rolled reveres collar. Two front pockets with flaps. These pockets have never been used as the stitching remains intact (easily removable). Single-breasted jacket fastening with four fabric covered buttons. Fully lined including sleeves. Nice fitted shape.

Made from 61% rayon, 31% synthetic, 8% lurex. Dry clean only.

Outstanding vintage 80's wool skirt suit by Celine SORIA Paris (see label details below).

Soft green and black hounds-tooth, this elegant suit is very 'Chanel' like in style with its classic, boxy jacket and round neckline. The front is decorated with four faux pockets. The neckline, cuffs, front and faux pockets are all edged in contrasting black. Padded shoulders and long sleeves. The gold-tone buttons are decorated with three linked rings in each. Fully lined including sleeves.

The high-waisted skirt has a narrow waistband. Rear enclosed zip with sturdy metal hook and stud fastener at the top. Central rear split measuring 7 inches (17.5cm). Fully lined.

This suit is so wearable and a great investment. You can wear this together or mix it up with other pieces. A fabulous addition to your vintage collection.

Amazing vintage 80's wool skirt suit by Paris design label Celine (see designer info below). Celine is making a bit of a comeback these days and that's sure to spur the collectibility of older pieces to new heights!

This has all the class and elegance you need, rolled into one outstanding skirt suit.

The boxy jacket has a low cut, sexy, plunging neckline with stand-alone (mandarin) collar. Rolled, reveres collar decorated with one large black button on each lapel, marked 'CELINE'. Single-breasted jacket with one button faster. There are two small enclosed pockets at the front. Long sleeves with two buttons decorating each cuff. Softly padded shoulders. Fully lined, including sleeves.

High-waisted skirt with narrow waistband. Rear enclosed zip with sturdy metal hook fastener at the top. Central rear split measuring 5 inches (12.5cm). Fully lined.

This suit is such a great investment. Wear the jacket and skirt with other garments. The skirt will look great teamed with chunky knits and ankle boots and the jacket can be worn with smart trousers or coordinating skirts.

This delightful sheer scarf dates from the 1950's. Rectangular shape. Purple border with white centre. Decorated with rows of pink and purple circles and sprays of flowers. Hand rolled hem. So pretty for your neck or hair.

Very good. There is a very small frayed section at the end which measures about 5mm. See last photo. This can't be seen when the scarf is on.

Fabulous, unworn pair of brown court shoes with moc croc effect leather. Perfect for that 'preppy' look.

Made in England by Culture. Real leather upper with man made sole.

Labelled size 6 but this is vintage sizing so they're more suitable for a modern day UK 5 (US 7.5) Eur 38. The width is quite narrow at 2¾" (7cm).

The measurements provided are taken inside the shoe. I suggest you measure a pair of your own shoes (rather than your foot) to see if the fit will be suitable.

Vintage 60s Red Jumpsuit Hostess Dress and Jacket Pallazo Pants Size Medium

Elegant 1960's red and white jumpsuit with red jacket and belt by Jean Allen (London).

The jumpsuit has wide, pallazo style pants. Rear enclosed metal zip running from the neck to hip with hook fastener at the top. Threaded belt hoops and original red belt included. Fabulous, long puff sleeves with deep cuffs. Each cuff fastens with four studs and decorated with five fabric covered buttons. The jumpsuit is fully lined (except sleeves). No fabric content label but the lining is cotton and the jumpsuit is a lightweight cotton/poly mix.

Long-length, sleeveless red jacket. Fastens with two fabric covered buttons at the top. Not lined. No fabric label but it appears to be made from a very good quality linen with superb drape.

Be the 'Hostess with the Mostess' in this fabulous two-piece outfit.

Labelled: Jean Allen LONDON Size 14/38. Made in England. This garment can be hand washed or dry cleaned. Wash the red waistcoat separately.

Fabulously stylish, velvet fitted jacket by British designer Katharine Hamnett (see designer notes below). Made in Italy. Low V-neck front with reveres collar. Single-breasted with one button fastener. Padded shoulders. Two large patch pockets. Three small buttons decorate each cuff. Fully lined.

Vintage 60s 70s Welsh Woollen Mill Tapestry Waiscoat Red Fairisle Folk Retro Size Medium

Stay snug and warm this winter in this Welsh tapestry waistcoat from the 1960's/1970's. Made from wool in a traditional Welsh tapestry pattern in red, white and black. Black trim around the outer edges.

The waistcoat is lightly fitted, and is edge-to-edge with one fancy frog closure at the centre. It's unlined making it more lightweight and suitable for spring, autumn and winter.

Team with a roll or turtle-neck sweater. This is truly a quality garment and in pristine condition.

Not labelled but this is undoubtedly a traditional Welsh woollen mill tapestry waistcoat. The final photograph shows the reverse side of the weave. Finished to a high standard inside and out. This is not a reversible waistcoat.

As this garment is made from wool I would recommend dry clean only.

Vintage 70s Gold Label by Tricoville Red Abstract Ruched Dress Size Medium

Elegant 70's Gold Label dress by Tricoville. Semi-sheer bodice and puff sleeves. The dress has a ruched, stand alone collar with key-hole opening at the back of the neck secured with three fabric covered buttons.

The sleeves are long and full with an inverted pleat at the top of each arm. These gather into ruched cuffs which fasten with three fabric covered buttons.

The waist is elastic. There are threaded belt hoops but no belt. I've photographed the dress with a red belt for display purposes (not included in this sale). You could easily co-ordinate different coloured belts with this dress or perhaps a simple red ribbon would suffice. :)

The skirt is fully lined. This garment is made from very high quality polyester with superb drape quality. It's perfect for ladies on the go or for those that travel a lot as the fabric doesn't crease. Simply wash, air-dry and go!

This elegant dress is so wearable and it's suitable for all sorts of occasions. A stylish, chic addition to any wardrobe and a great investment piece. Perfect for autumn/winter! It will look great teamed with boots and large 'it' bag.

I've attached a couple of 70's advertisements for Gold Label by Tricoville. These posh frocks would retail new at around £60 (approx $100 USD) which was a lot of money back in the 70's!

Fabulous two-tone 80's blouse by Cache D'Or. There are one inch (2.5cm) horizontal stripes running through the fabric in sea-foam blue (soft aqua). This gives a lovely subtle sheen to the fabric which is covered in black ink spots. Each small button is also decorated with tiny black ink spots. :)

The semi-circular yoke, collar and cuffs are in contrasting navy blue. The collar is fastened with one button which provides an unusual diamond shaped cut-out at the front. Wear the neck open or closed as shown in the photographs.

Lovely wide, raglan sleeves (batwing) that taper into narrow cuffs with one button fastener on each. Two faux pockets on each breast with flap closures.

Not lined. Made from high-quality, silky polyester. Machine washable (cool/hand-wash cycle).

The blouse has been newly washed and pressed. Simply unwrap the tissue paper and wear!

PLEASE NOTE: The only label inside this blouse is the size label. The blouse was originally part of a suit so I have it on excellent authority, from the previous owner, this is definitely a genuine Cache D'Or blouse, a high-end boutique label in England during the 1970's and 1980's.

The measurements provided are of the actual garment. If you measure smaller, this blouse should fit you. It's designed to fit loosely. Suitable for a modern day UK 12 (US 8).

Upper sleeve length (neck to cuff) 30" (76cm)
Length, centre back to hem 25" (63.5cm)

Condition:

Excellent. No holes, tears or stains. There is one button missing from the bottom of the shirt but this isn't noticeable due to the busy print. There are a couple of faint marks on the back of the collar which haven't been picked up by the camera and again not noticeable when the blouse is on.

Lovely vintage 60’s pea coat by Devonshire Lady. Slightly A-line in shape with two large patch pockets at the front. Pointed revers collar. Brown coat with white and yellow checked weave. Just lovely!

Made from 55% polyester, 45% wool. Lining appears to be made from acetate in a contrasting cream colour. Dry clean only.

I really love this vintage pea coat! It’s super-stylish and lightweight too! Perfect for wearing with jeans, trousers, skirts or dresses.

Labelled size 20 but remember this is vintage sizing. From the measurements taken this coat should be suitable for a modern day UK 16 (US 12). The label states: to fit up to 42” bust, 44” hips. The measurements below should be doubled to obtain the full circumference.

Vintage 40s Beaded Clutch Bag Purse Blue Suede Pouch Envelope with Silver Beads

Darling little suede clutch bag/pouch dating from the 1940's. Rectangular shape with double flap and one metal snap closure. The outer edges are decorated with tiny hand-sewn metal beads measuring 1mm each. In addition, the front is decorated with a hand-beaded flower. There is a single handle on the back of the purse, again with beaded edge, making this lovely evening purse easy to carry on the hand.

The dual front-flaps open to reveal two compartments to this bag. Also included is the cutest little coin purse with beaded trim.

Clutch measures:

Width 9" (23cm)
Height 4.5" (11.5cm)

Coin purse measures:

Width 3" (7.5cm)
Height 2.5" (6cm)

Condition:

Very good. It's clear from looking at the image of the coin purse, that the colour of the clutch bag has faded over the years and the suede is a little dirty in places; understandable seeing as it's at least 60 years old. Considering its age, it's still in remarkable condition with no missing beads, holes or tears. The fading issue would not be noticeable unless you inspected this bag close-up. :)

Beautiful, soft vintage 40's coney fur stole. I've yet to come across any in this exact colour which is in a subtle brownish-grey. The stole is shaped to fit neatly on the shoulders. Hand finished. No fastenings.

Lined in a gorgeous muted-grey fabric, possibly viscose. It has a lovely, metallic sheen.

This gorgeous vintage blouse is just perfect for the party season! Sheer black blouse, circa 1970's with v-neckline and rolled collar. Opens part-way down and fastens with three fancy gold buttons. Long, puff sleeves with deep cuffs and two fancy button fasteners on each. The sleeves are decorated beautifully with gold metallic embroidery in fabulous arabesque patterns.

Super-retro swirly bud vase. It starts off green at the top and twirls around to form a transparent outer edge further down and at the base. Made from glass. Not signed. Circa 1970's. Flower-shaped base.

Condition:

Very good. There are no chips or cracks. There are some brownish marks inside (bottom section) on one side. These may come off but I can't be certain. I've washed the glass in warm soapy water. :)

Beautiful vintage 80's coat by Feminella. It's in a rich purple colour with contrasting black shawl collar. There are two slashed pockets with welts. Long, dolman sleeves with black fur trim. Roll the cuffs back or fold down to cover your hands.

This coat crosses over at the front from the V-shaped neckline. There are four large buttons on display at the front; two for decoration and two that fasten the coat with one large interior button to keep in place. There's a split on the rear hem measuring 18" (46cm) in length. Fully lined, including sleeves.

Outstanding vintage 50's skirt suit made from scrumptious red velvet. Made in Mayfair, London by London Town. The cropped jacket has a peplum style hem and the original belt is included. Round neckline with cropped, raglan sleeves that end just below the elbow. Fastens with two large, flat, velvet covered buttons at the front and a small hook fastener at the waist. Fully lined including sleeves.

The skirt has a narrow waistband. Enclosed side metal zip fastener with two hook fasteners at the waistband. Lovely fitted shape with 7 inch kick-pleat at the back. Not lined.

Labelled: LONDON TOWN. Made in Mayfair, London, England.

Vintage 40s WWII Aqua Blue Slip Silk Like Rayon Dress Pink Crochet Trim Medium

Beautiful 1940's slip in soft-aqua. It has matching ribbon shoulder straps (non-adjustable) and a narrow, pink crochet trim around the top (front and back). Softly gathered underneath the bust. Made from rayon.

This is quite a rare find! The slip includes the famous CC41 (Clothing Control 1941) label designed by the commercial artist Reginald Shipp (please read additional notes below).

Gentle hand-wash only.

Super-sexy retro 70's cropped blouse in dark, bottle green. Made in Italy by Etnic Manufactures. It has a front placket and six button fasteners at the front. There are two small patch pockets on each breast with flap closures, button fasteners and inverted pleats. Long, narrow sleeves with cuffs and one button fastener on each.

The buttons on the cuffs, patch pockets and top button are lighter in colour than the buttons on the front placket. This is a design feature not a fault. :)

Due to the thick texture of the fabric, this garment can be worn as a shirt or jacket. It has a lovely fitted shape and will look great worn with jeans, trousers or skirts.

Polyacryl is the abbreviation for polyacrylnitrile. It has almost the same characteristics as polyester. Polyacryl is used to produce garment materials, blankets, fur imitations as well as padding and curtain materials. The most widely known polyacryl brands are Dolan, Dralon and Orlon.

Divine vintage 40's evening purse made from scrumptious blue satin. It has a beautiful rouched (pleated) front which really adds a touch of glamour!

Gold-tone metal frame with clasp fastener. Single handle. Circular base measuring 2" (5cm) in diameter. Lined in blue satin with one small interior pocket. The pocket holds a dual sided compact mirror which measures 3.5" by 2.15" (8.7cm by 5.8cm). The pocket is embossed with gold lettering showing the letter 'D' with a swallow above it and 'Made in France' below it.

Fabulous tomato-red vintage 60's handbag. It has a lovely structured shape with a gold-tone metal frame and sturdy clasp fastener at the top.

Lined in beige suede with three interior pockets in total. There is one pocket with a metal zip fastener and behind that a further compartment where the compact mirror is stored (still in its original paper packaging)! The third pocket is on the opposite side - perfect for storing receipts or tickets.

I'm also including a white dust bag with this purchase (not original to the bag). :)

AQUASCUTUM is one of the classic British ready-to-wear houses. Aquascutum opened in in the UK in 1851 as a tailors making men's clothing from a special waterproof wool fabric. They received a royal warrant from the future King Edward VII in 1897.

Aquascutum coats were put to the test in the Crimean War. General Goodlake was actually saved from capture when his Aquascutum cloak disguised him against the ground - one can view this coat today at Newstead Abbey. And, it was Aquascutum that developed the raglan sleeve for Lord Raglan, who presumably wore his namesake coat during the Charge of the Light Brigade.

In 1909 Aquascutum began making women's wear, including clothing especially for sports such as golf. The company predicted that 'Coats for women will lead to votes for women.'

Aquascutum produced trench coats during WWI, and after the war, this style became popular with the general public. In 1953 Edmund Hillary and Tensing Norkey climbed Everest in Aquascutum hooded jackets and trousers made out of wind resistant cotton nylon blend. During the 1950's, Aquascutum began making a more fashionable line, which continues today.

Vintage 70s Trench Coat Classic Cream Beige British Rain Coat Size Medium

Super-chic vintage 70's trench coat by Showers. If there's one thing us Brits do well, it's make fabulous rain coats!

Single-breasted coat with double epaulettes and button fasteners on each shoulder. Cream coloured top panel and sleeves with contrasting beige/tan bottom panel (front and back). V-neck with revers collar.

Fastens with four high quality tan-coloured buttons (spare button included). Nice A-line shape. Belt hoops with fabric tie belt. 3/4 length, raglan sleeves. Two large patch pockets. Fully lined (including sleeves).

This coat is the epitome of chic! Wear it with trousers, skirts, dresses and boots. Who cares if it rains when you can wear this! :)

This coat has been newly washed and pressed. Simply unwrap the tissue paper and wear!

Labelled: Showers. Made in England. Size 10.

Made from 35% cotton, 65% polyester. Lining made from 100% nylon. Machine washable (read care label).

The measurements provided are of the actual garment. If you measure smaller, this coat will fit you. Remember that you'll need to allow a good few inches to your own measurements for ease of movement and wearing a sweater underneath. Approximate modern day sizing: UK 12-14 (US 8-10).

Condition:

Excellent. Near mint condition! The only thing I can find is the faintest, tiniest mark on the left upper panel (see photos). It's hardly visible.

Vintage 80s Blouse Purple Blue Black Paisley Puff Sleeve Ruffle Shirt Top Size Medium

Outstanding vintage blouse dating from early 1980's. Made by Alexon, it has a small standing collar with ruffle trim. Fastens down the front with seven buttons that are covered neatly by the front placket. Fabulous long, puff-sleeves that stand proud from the shoulders and taper in to a narrow hem, fastened with one small button.

Made from very high-quality polyester with a silky, luxurious texture. The fabric is decorated with horizontal stripes in purple, blue, emerald green and black with a large paisley design.

This really is perfect for smart evening wear. Team it with a long black skirt, trousers, or suits.

Labelled: Alexon. Made in Great Britain. 100% polyester. Size 14. Machine washable.

There is no stretch in the fabric. The measurements are of the actual garment. If you measure slightly smaller, this blouse should fit. Approximate modern day sizing: UK 12-14 (US 8-10) depending on the fit you prefer.
