This piece is very special to me because I "saw" it in my mind's eye a long time before I had the studio time to bring it into existence! I always get excited when I complete a new design and I was thrilled with this one!

Vase (approx. 19" w/lid X 6 1/2" at shoulder) can be used alone with the lid and displayed as a sculptural piece or, without the lid, it can be utilized as a vase w/perhaps a dried floral arrangement in it. Double useage!

The glaze is glossy and has a golden color with other accents. The sculpted horse lid, as you can see, is brilliant copper which adds wonderful contrast!

All raku remains porous and is for decorative purposes only. However, many of my customers also use them for fresh flowers by adding a plastic liner of some type. Fast food beverage containers work well for this!

Elegant in appearance, this beauty would grace the interior of any home or office! It is approx. 16" tall (with lid) X 6 1/2" at the shoulder of the vase and has the most beautiful emerald luster punctuated by areas of copper metallic. It is a glossy glaze and is also glazed on the inside with a contrasting glossy glaze that usually highlights the inside rim in beautiful copper tones.

All raku remains porous and is for decorative purposes. Having said that, many of my customers enjoy fresh flowers in raku vases by adding a liner to hold water. Many fast food beverage cups work well for this.

This vase really has a two fold useage! It can be displayed with the lid as a sculptural element, or it can be used as a vase form either alone or with dried floral. It's a real beauty!

This is simply one gorgeous vase! It stands about 14" high X 7 1/4" at the shoulder and has such incredible coloration: golden tones, some pink/fuscia, copper and more.

The horse image is called the "Guardian Horse" in honor of my first horse (her name was Blue).....a mare who took good care of me when I was pretty young and foolish!

All raku is for decorative useage and it does remain porous however, many of my customers do purchase & use my raku vases for holding fresh flowers by inserting a plastic liner of some kind. Fast food drink cups work well!

This is a beautiful 6 sided vase with three sculpted feathers on every other side. The feathers were originally hand sculpted by myself then made into a press mold for multiple useage. The opening (or mouth) is irregular in shape and it has "attitude" as seen in the pics. It measures approx 8 1/2" tall X 4" wide and is the most gorgeous gold-lemon-emerald iridescent color.

Raku is for decorative purposes and is most beautiful holding dried arrangements as it is not water tight. Many of my customers however purchase vases for fresh flowers and utilize a liner (plastic drink cups work great) for water/flowers.

2" X 2" Copper raku pendant holds a gorgeous piece of dichroic glass that has soft earth tones with a jet black strip that has flecks of iridescent teal green around it. The two pieces are really beautiful together and would complement any wardrobe!

This raku necklace hangs on a 36” black satin twist cord and is fully adjustable using the copper colored slider bead on the back of the necklace (see pic). Above the jump ring, the cord has been wrapped with copper wire for an additional accent. The necklace makes a stunning statement and can be worn with a number of different necklines. This beautiful flecked seafoam green gloss raku horse brooch measures approx 2 3/4" wide X 1 1/2". The glaze is a high gloss with some wonderful little flecks/speckles of copper.

This brooch-pendant can add such pzazz to a wardrobe! Great on lapels, blouses, shirts, sweatshirts….you name it. I enjoy wearing one on my grey wool winter coat & receive a lot of compliments on it! My husband enjoys wearing one on his western hatband! It is very light weight so it won’t tug on fabrics. The stamped design was originally hand sculpted by me and made into a stamp.

This is such a pretty piece! Sporting two of my favorite glazes, the under glaze is a copper with a matte surface highlighted by streaks and spatters of a glossy glaze which fires out dark with multi spectrum hues of an iridescent nature as is typical of raku! All of my raku pottery is glazed on the inside as well which adds terrific highlights to the lip rim of the pot. Beautiful medium sized pot (can also be considered a small vase) measuring approx. 6 3/4" tall X 4 3/4" has a beautiful green coloration with a golden luster of iridescent nature as is typical of raku! This would make a terrific gift for yourself, a friend or family member.

The evergreen trees were done using a "resist" technique and it is basically an UNglazed part of the pot.....in raku, whatever is not glazed gets blackened with carbon. This gives the design an etched look.

The raku process still continues to amaze me....even after 14 years of working with it!

This is another of my simple, bold, more contemporary designs.

When I was getting my undergraduate degree (many moons ago), I can well remember how I used to doodle in the margins of my notebooks (a practice begun in elementary school), but the interesting thing is I remember a series of "doodle designs" (of which this brooch is ONE)which are JUST NOW manifesting themselves in the form of raku jewelry! I've read that the mind never really forgets....but that things surface unexpectedly and surprisingly over time. I find the creative process fascinating!

I think this piece would be a very unique piece on a number of different styles of clothing.

Guess I've always loved most critters. Yep, I caught frogs in the creek behind my house when I was a kid in Dallas....I let 'em go after giving them a good look see and I still find them to be pretty whimsical and fun.

The frog was originally sculpted by me then made into a bisque fired stamp. This particular glaze (I mix all of my own) fires out to a subtle, glossy green with copper blush as you see here.

He's light weight and can be worn on any number of fabric weights. The torn clay edges add to the overall organic look of the piece. So, if you're a frog lover, or know one who needs a gift.....he's looking for a home!

Beautiful coloration of peacock blue with a silvery sheen highlights this brooch-pendant which measures approx. 2 1/4" long X 1 3/4".

This brooch-pendant can add such pzazz to a wardrobe! Great on lapels, blouses, shirts, sweatshirts….you name it. I enjoy wearing one on my grey wool winter coat & receive a lot of compliments on it! My husband enjoys wearing one on his western hatband! It is very light weight so it won’t tug on fabrics. The stamped design was originally hand sculpted by me and made into a stamp.

Can also be used as a pendant because the pin back has a loop on it (see pic). This is a great gift item for yourself, your friend or family member!

Add pzazz to your lapel, shirt or blouse with this textured raku brooch which also can be used as a pendant by virtue of the pin backing shown in pictures.

Measures 3" wide X 1 1/2" tall and is impressed with a horse design which was inspired by the Cave Paintings of Lascaux, France.

The horse was originally hand sculpted by myself and made into a stamp. The copper, shiney horse is contrasted by a textured, glittery surface surrounding it.

A very unique piece! It's quite light weight so won't tug at light fabrics.

It comes gift boxed and would make a great gift for yourself or a friend!

Beautiful tri color vase measuring approx. 10 1/2" high X 6 1/4" is real contrasty with its coloration. Two different glazes have been poured in a spiral pattern and the black areas are UNglazed & are naturally blackened by carbon during the raku process. The interior glaze is white. Coloration ranges from white to beige to emerald green. There are glaze irregularities in the emerald area which add a visual textural element to the piece. It has a very narrow base and displays well in a metal stand or equally well without.

Nothing short of stunning this rich, iridescent vase is approx 14" high X 9" wide and has three clusters of grapes/leaves spaced evenly around the shoulder. It has terrific coloration! I love the more subtle beauty of this glaze combo! A deep, glossy raku glaze has been poured over the surface of this pot and there are some unglazed, matte areas that have been blackened by carbon during the raku process. I seal the unglazed portions with a clear acrylic spray so they will stay black over time. Coloration of the glazed portion has some copper & peacock iridescent hues. A personal favorite of mine, this spiral design is inspired by some of the photographs the Hubble has sent back from space. This is a wonder-full feast for the eyes and soul of a horse lover! The glossy, mostly copper colored wall piece is highlighted by the two images of "Guardian Horses" so named in honor of my first horse who took good care of me when I was a young (also foolish) and inexperienced rider. It adds a really unique touch by contrasting the hard surface of ceramic with the visual (and tactile) softness of the fiber.
