Vintage French Lace - brought back from France 30 years ago

I brought this vintage ivory colored lace back from France about 30 years ago, and it has been packed up ever since. I guess I never found the "right" place for it.

I thought this was in perfect condition since its been packed up for years, but just discovered that the edge has pulled away from the lace in an almost 2" strip. I would imagine easily fixed if you sew. I have no idea how that could have happened.

Size is approximately 25" by 16 1/2". McCoy planter is not included.

Vintage Unused Christmas Cards 1940's

These three vintage Christmas Cards were never used, but unfortunately I do not have the envelopes. They are in great condition with the exception of the normal yellowing due to age. The one with the duck is missing a piece of yarn that went through the crease, and could be easily fixed or left as is. I will leave that up to the buyer.

Special Vintage Christmas Cards and Calendar 1940's and 50's

These five vintage Christmas Cards and Calendar are all special in their own way. I will describe each to you:

1. The first card is actually a pop out type card, and the pop out is a carriage being pulled by horses on their way to a beautiful house in the snow. You can see the carriage full of people on the front. It is a bit yelllowed due to age and quite stained but on the back only.

2. The Calendar is from 1954 and is mounted on a piece of paper which is brittle, and has a sticker on the back of a Christmas Bell. The calendar has each month and is in great condition. The calendar could easily be cut off of the paper.

3. The Photo Christmas Card has a photo of two children peaking out their front door with their little black dog sitting on the stoop. This card has a couple rough spots on the left side of the photo, but they do not affect the photo. This card is signed.

4. I love an old time Santa, and here he is by the tree and the Christmas Stockings. This card has a story inside "The legend of the Christmas Stocking" on the left, and a greeting and signature on the right side. Minor yellowing due to age.

5. The card with the candles opens to three pages, with a quote by Washington Irving on the first inside page, and a greeting and signature on the last page. Also yellowed due to age.

This excellent copy of The Wizard of Oz is a Illustrated Junior Library edition dated 1956. Grosset & Dunlap, Inc.

The dedication inside the book written by L. Frank Baum reads:

This 205 page book is full of color plate pictures as well as many black and white ones. It is in excellent condition for its age with slight yellowing of pages and a nice tight binding. No rips or tears. Still with dust jacket.

This adorable vintage postcard is I believe postmarked 1917, it is hard to read. Could be 1927.

Vintage Black Cowhide Vest Size Medium

This vintage black suede vest is from the late 1970's. It is made by the "Gap" - yes, the Gap was around then. It was a gift to my hubby. The size is a men's medium, but this looks great on females too!!

It is in great shape. There is a bit of wear (a very small amount) mostly around the pockets. There are two pockets on the bottom front. There are no rips or tears. The only reason it has to go is it doesn't fit him anymore. It has been in a closet for most of these years.

There is an extra button still on the inside.

The front is made of 100% Cowhide split
The back and lining is made of 50% nylon & 50% Acetate
Professional Leather - Dry Clean Only

Vintage Lot of Photographs of Children 1920's and Up

This is a small lot of vintage photographs (8 photos) all including or just of children.

One photo is dated 1927, and as you can see by the cars and clothes being worn, they are all very old.

They are all a bit yellowed, some more then others. Other then that they are in quite good condition considering their age. The do tend to curl a bit on the sides, but that is not bad either. Note that there is a duplicate of one of the photos, with the exception that the man is looking down in one shot.

Vintage Brown Buttons still on Cards German

The set of three are by Streamline Size 24 or 5/8" and were made in W. Germany. The buttons are perfect, the cardboard is a bit bent and missing one corner as shown.

The set of five are by le chic and were originally ten cents. They are also size 24 or 5/8" and were made in the U.S.A. The buttons are perfect and the cardboard they are on is in wonderful condition for it's age.

It is in excellent condition, I never used it just displayed her. I see one tiny nick in her beak, but it might have been there when bought it but it does not take away at all from her looks.

Cowboy Small by Lois Lenski Hardback Book First Edition Vintage

Cowboy Small was written by the famous Lois Lenski and this is believed to be a first edition copy. Says Copywright 1949 - that is the year is was written.

This is a hardback edition, and was a library copy. It has withdrawn stamped throughout the front and back pages. It also has a stamp from Carney Elementary School in Baltimore Maryland. This is a very loved book obviously since it was a library book and is quite old. But cosidering both those things it's not bad. There is dirt smudges throughout. The last page was cut out. The initials EL are written on the binding. The binding is a bit loose but is nicely holding all pages in place.

Vintage Celluloid Dancer Pin

This colorful celluloid pin is of a dancer, and is in very good condition. It is clean and the paint is all there with the exception of the dot above the shoe of the dancers left leg (right side of picture).

Measures approximately 3 1/4 inches in length.

The pin on the back does have a marking, but I don't know what it is or if it is anything of importance. Might be.

This 4 1/4 X 6 1/4 booklet has 64 pages and is a first edition dated 1952. Tested recipes from Ann Pillsbury's Famous Kitchen - Especially created for Sno Sheen Cake Flour.

This great booklet is in wonderful condition. The only thing I can see is that the pages are yellowed with age. The pages are not ripped or torn, and I see no stains from use. This was well taken care of. There are initials written in the front page of LW.

Antique Victorian Wooden Hand Made Box with Trompe-l'oeil Book on Top - Price Reduced

This one of a kind Victorian antique box is circa 1870, and was the most prized possession from an old farmhouse in Pennsylvania.

This beautiful piece was handmade, and is wood throughout. The book on top was hand carved from the wood and painted. The term: Trompe-l'oeil means a painting that creates a strong illusion of reality that the viewer may not at first be sure whether the item (book in this case) depicted is real or a representation.

For it's age, this is in great condition. On the outside, there obviously are some marks in the wood, and a couple of the corners have been worn. The paint on the book is crazing in places, but is perfectly intact. As you can see, there is a keyhole, but the key is missing.

The bottom is lined with felt.

The inside is also lined in felt, with the exception of the top which was painted black. There is minor staining to the felt.

Approximate measurements are: 10 1/4" wide by 8" high by 7 1/4" deep.

One thing that must be noted is that the family kept mothballs inside this box to preserve their treasured piece. That odor is quite strong when the box is opened.

Vintage Linen Tea Towel Cross Stitched with pink and green

The story behind this vintage tea towel is that my mother-in-law made it approximately 50 years ago. It is handstitched around the edges, with a touch of lace at the bottom. The cross stitching is done is pink and green as you can see. There is one tiny stain to the left of the embroidery. I have not tried to remove it, nor did I iron this piece but left it as is in the box it has been in for years.

It is 13 3/4" wide by 20" long. A beautiful piece.

She tells me it was never used, and it doesn't look used, so I can't explain the stain.
