These mod little poppies were hand-formed from precious metal clay, which fires down to fine silver (99.9% silver). Two names are stamped on the back of this rounded dogtag pendant, which measures just 7/8 by about 4/5 inch. It was dried, sanded, fired, tumbled, oxidized and given a brushed, satin finish. Super mod and exploding with personality. Each piece is hand-made from scratch, and as such, will be slightly different.

My NEW favorite piece, in fine silver, hand-sculpted from precious metal clay. I texturized the background with some medium-grit sandpaper...kind of gives it a porous rock effect. The flower is very simple, embedded with a cool, lab-grown sapphire cabochon...but it's the graceful, fan-like leaves that give it its geisha-like panache. It was sanded, fired, tumbled, oxidized, and then brushed, polished, sanded again, scratch-brushed, polished again... It measure a bit longer than an inch and hangs from an oxidized hammered-bar sterling chain, about 17".

I love this so much....I might cry.

The pendant measures not quite 7/8 inch in every functacular direction. The centers of these musical flowers are two lovely Czochralski Alexandrite cabochons...magical, luminous little stones that exhibit subtle changes in color between natural and incandescent light (called an alexandritic effect). They are truly gorgeous and ring true and clear against the oxidized silver. Alexandrite is one of the June birthstones...just fyi.

The piece is fine silver, lovingly formed, sanded, fired, tumbled, oxidized, and brushed for a lovely satin finish. Hangs from an 18" oxidized sterling chain, which has a great textural groove all its own.

So I've been a bit bummed since last week when Cockeyed Sid flew off to Converse, Texas to "make a new start." He said something about cattle ranching, maybe opening his own barbecue joint...

I've been making these little irregular fine-silver circles for a couple weeks. Just winding the clay around my fingers and pinching them into different organic iterations, not sure where it was going. Well, finally got around to sanding and firing them, and boy, I'll tell you..an overnight in the tumbler put a shine on these guys that will make you cry. So awesome. Suddenly they're each these individual, unique little miracles - not quite mod...science fiction-quality cool. Linked together in this simple bracelet, they add up to that perfect balance of eye-catching flash and sparkle with timeless elegance and arty originality...perfect everywhere from the office to the ballroom to the playground.

Pretty sure I can't part with the original, so this will be made-to-order, in your size, so be sure to measure and let me know that bit of info. I painstakingly hand-sculpt the little tulips - can be of about equal size, or one larger/more open than the other (as you see here), but of course each will be slightly different. This is a fairly substantial piece, measuring about 2 inches..because this is a pretty serious flower. Hand-sculpted fine silver, made from precious metal clay. I texturized the background with medium-grit sandpaper, giving it a nice porous-rock effect. The tall, poppyish flower stands tall in full bloom, set with a glowing rich pink ruby cabochon. I bought these big, smooth, milky-blue quartz briolettes a few years ago. As usual, I had nothing in mind for them, but couldn't put them down because they so reminded me of the deep, perfect blue I've only ever seen on Lake Michigan on those rare, perfect sunny Summer days. I can envision the little sailboats, the gulls, the Navy Pier ferris wheel in the background...

The brios measure about 5/8 inch by 1/2 inch and are wire-wrapped to french sterling earwire. The matching pendant hangs from a 16" sterling pendant rope chain.

Noro Kureyon is many a knitter's drug of choice, whatever the season. These hand-painted yarns in vivid colors are an electric feast for the eyes.

This snazzy handbag is a showcase of some of my favorite Kureyon colorways, with a solid, bright-red merino forming a sturdy garter-stitch base and top border. Hand-knit in a checker pattern (squares are about 3/4 inch), felted and groomed to perfection. It has very high-quality, triangular wooden handles. It's roomy, about 9" high, 10" wide and 2.5" deep. It will stand up on its own when full of stuff (see photo).
