Yes, you can find pens with a magnet embedded into or attached to the pen, but when the pen runs out, you have to buy another one. On the other hand, my great little cube will hold virtually all writing utensils less than 3/8” in diameter. You've got a pen or pencil right where you need one, and the holder can be used again and again.

The board can be placed either vertically or horizontally on the stands. The stands have been stained and sealed, and the corners of the metal have been rounded slightly. The oak has been salvaged from a construction site, cut, sanded, stained, and sealed by me! The metal is galvanized and can therefore be washed without fear of rusting (although prolonged exposure to water is not recommended). The metal is also cut by me and other sizes are available!
