The window is constructed by me from solid wood. It does not actually have glass. It's dimensions, including the flower box, are aproximately 5 inches high by 4 inches wide by 1 inch deep. The flower box has synthetic roses inserted and glued to the wood surface. Included also, is a 1 inch galvanized nail to insert in the pre-drilled hole at the window's center. Leave the head of the nail prodtruding slightly to facilitate removal.

This item is for a custom portrait in wood (typically cut at 11 x 14 inches) from a photo submitted by you.

NOTE: $85 is the base cost, which would get you a 1 subject portrait, including the frame similar to the ones in the pictures. With each added subject, cost generally increases by $15.

WHAT IS A SCROLL SAW PORTRAIT?

A scroll saw portrait (also known as a portrait in wood, picture in wood or scroll saw picture) is a "light and shadow" representation of a photo that is CUT into wood with a scroll saw (the 'black' is space...showing the felt backing on the frame). A scroll saw portrait is not a charcoal sketch, wood burn, carving, engraving, or segmentation.

WHAT KINDS OF PICTURES SHOULD I EMAIL OR SUBMIT?

School pics or professional pics (or just very good personal pics taken by you) are the best as they have the proper lighting, contrast, etc. needed to render the pattern.

Note: It would be a good idea to give me an alternate photo, in case the chosen photo is too dark etc.

After I have created the pattern I will show it to you so that you agree that it looks good, etc, etc.

Then, if the pattern looks good I'll proceed to cut the portrait in wood. :)

Kerry - all I can say is "WOW" :)

Its absolutely perfect and looks incredibly amazing. In a city lacking some amount of... character.. you've certainly added a sense of uniqueness and character to our small home.

Not only did I earn some huge points from the girlfriend, but I even got some bonus points from
the in laws I think. ;)

In any case, feel free to post both the original image and the end result on your website, the CTS forums, and anywhere else you so desire, as well as my reference - your work is amazing, stunning and breath taking. There isn't anything like it in the world.

My only complaint is.. How do I outdo this gift next year??? LOL

Thanks again Kerry, for another beautiful portrait. This one was a gift to my husband's aunt and uncle for Christmas, of her two granddaughters. She always hosts a party on Christmas Eve, with lots of family around, and we asked her to open it while we were there. They both loved it and showed me exactly where they planned to hang it.

My boyfriend is in the military and currently stationed overseas. I wanted to have something made special for him that he would remember and really appreciate. I contaced Kerry on a MONDAY with my idea of making a "patch" for my boyfriend. Kerry was SOOOO incredibly helpful with everything. He came up with an even better idea than I had. By WEDNESDAY of the same week he had already completed the project and had it in the mail on Thursday! I was thrilled with the quality! Kerry does awesome work, and I have already thought about what I want my next project to be.

By the way, my boyfriend is one of those very umemotional guys generally, however when he saw the patch he thought it was great! He said that it is something that he will keep forever! This charming door is approximately 12 inches high and 8 1/4 inches wide and boasts a miniature brass lion knocker. The door panel (the part that swings) is 5 inches wide by 10 inches high. It is constructed by me with care from 3/4 inch solid pine board for the frame and 1/4 inch lightweight plywood for the panel to facilitate opening and closing with ease.

The door swings easily in each direction. The door has 4 pre-drilled holes and ships with four 2 inch screws and snap on screw caps.

The box is approximately 2 inches long. The Box itself is a solid wood piece (i.e. it does not open and does not have an interior) There is a very stylish Victorian gingerbread brace under box. Box support shaped to a point to facilitate anchoring in ground which is approximately 6 or 7 inches long. The 'new mail' flag actually moves into position.
