This paper is made from 100% recycled office, junkmail, and magazine paper. I have added some rougher chopped "chunky" junkmail pulp to a base of my white handmade paper pulp to add interest and color to each sheet. Some sheets may even have full words left intact.

Making paper is a meditative process for me. There's something very relaxing to the simple, repetitive process. The end result of having a crisp, clean sheet of paper brings to mind endless possibilities. Anything that may have been upsetting or stressful before just melts away after I open up a whole world of opportunities with that one simple sheet of paper.

You could write a letter; bind a book; draw a picture; send graduation, birth, or wedding announcements; use as wrapping for soaps, gifts, or other small objects; or anything else you might use decorative paper for.

Each sheet is inspected for holes or weak spots, wrinkles, tears, and other major imperfections and those that have them are set aside, insuring that your order will hold up to your art! Paper bead garland 10 feet long

This listing is for a 10 foot long string of one-inch paper beads. The beads were hand-rolled from colorful magazine pages and sealed with two coats of polycrylic sealer. The sealer makes them sturdier and keeps them free of dust and dirt, and to make them more water-resistant (not water-PROOF). They were strung on hemp twine and knotted with a bead at both ends.

You can drape this from hooks on your mantle or wrap it around your Christmas tree for a unique, colorful, eco-friendly holiday or party decoration!

Your garland will arrive as pictured on a cardboard spool for easy storage and minimized tangles.

I was SO excited when I discovered how to recycle cereal boxes, the clippings from making my paper beads, and the cardboard snippets left over from making journal covers. I'm thrilled to be able to make them into this wonderful brown paper!

5 sheets of aged and distressed parchment

This paper is made from 100% office, notebook, and printer papers that I have collected and recycled myself then stained and distressed to make them look like several-hundred-year-old parchment. I use this paper to make the covers of my map journals like this one (shown in 4th photo, not included in this listing): http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=31238431

The staining process automatically makes little tears in the edges of the paper which makes it appear to have been thumbed through by thousands of hands. The pages are also intentionally wrinkled and the ridges stained to produce contrast before they are smoothed out again.

The photos show just a sampling of what your pages might look like. Some turn out lighter, others darker, some with and without the spots, but all with have the brown age stains on the ridges. Each sheets is completely different and I have little control over how they will turn out.

10 multi-colored 3D recycled paper hearts

These paper hearts are made using recycled paper pulp, pressed into a mold and left to dry. They are about 1 inch square at their widest points, and very lightweight. You could use them as a 3D decoration to a box, card, journal, picture frame, or glue a magnet to the back to stick it to your fridge. You could leave them plain, seal them with a clear coat, or paint over them to jazz them up to your liking!

You will receive 10 random hearts from the stock I have on hand. I make these hearts from the leftover pulp after I make paper. I always have a bit left that isn't enough to make another sheet, but I don't waste it! The color of your hearts will depend on what batch of paper I have made recently and had leftover pulp from.

This paper is made from 100% office, notebook, and printer papers that I have collected and recycled myself then stained and distressed to make them look like several-hundred-year-old parchment. I use this paper to make the covers of my map journals like this one (shown in 4th photo, not included in this listing): http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=31238431

The staining process automatically makes little tears in the edges of the paper which makes it appear to have been thumbed through by thousands of hands. The pages are also intentionally wrinkled and the ridges stained to produce contrast before they are smoothed out again.

The photos show just a sampling of what your pages might look like. Some turn out lighter, others darker, some with and without the spots, but all with have the brown age stains on the ridges. Each sheets is completely different and I have little control over how they will turn out.

The art of making paper is several thousand year old, having originated in China. Art, however, is MUCH older. Before recorded history, ancient man was drawing in the dirt, arranging stones, and painting on cave walls using naturally occurring pigments. These sheets of decorative papers bridge the gap in time between these two forms of expression.

This paper is made from 100% office, notebook, and printer papers, cardboard, and chipboard that I have collected and recycled myself. The back of each of these sheets is white and the front bears the negative image of a human hand (mine, actually!).

You could use these sheets as the base of an art collage, to give your letters, notes, poems, or song lyrics a unique, primitive, and powerful background. These would also make excellent journal covers or decorative endpapers.

Making paper is a meditative process for me. There's something very relaxing to the simple, repetitive process. The end result of having a crisp, clean sheet of paper brings to mind endless possibilities. I love the quaint mystery of a plain brown-paper-and-twine-wrapped parcel in the mail, so I brought that imagery into the design of this journal.

This mini journal is approximately 2.25 by 2.75 inches (5.7 cm by 7 cm) and has 96 pages front and back made from my white handmade paper. The cover is wrapped in brown paper and a piece of paper with stamped postage clipped from an envelope. The inside of the covers are decorated with white handmade paper endpages with one postage stamp each (the stamps in your journal may differ from the ones pictured) and the binding is sewn with tan hemp thread. It's like a mini parcel that you can write in!

Customized love letter

Store-bought cards are great. Handmade cards are better. But the best thing of all, is to write a letter.

You write the letter, I'll give it a little extra romance. I will write in cursive up to 150 words on my white handmade paper with handmade black walnut ink. I'll fold the letter up and tuck it inside a brown handmade paper envelope and seal it with a wax seal in the color and design of your choice. Choose either a ruffled heart or a Fleur de Lis wax seal in green, red, silver, or gold wax. On the front of the envelope, I can write a short message or address if you wish.

If you don't know what to say, I would be more than happy to copy one of Shakespeare's romantic sonnets in lieu of a letter.

I will then put the letter into a cardboard envelope and mail it to you to give to your sweetie. Perfect for Valentine's Day, anniversaries, just a sweet random gesture, or finally telling that special someone how you feel.

After you purchase this listing, convo me with the words you want in the letter. You must write them in the same format you want me to write them. If you type it in all caps, or all lower case, etc., I will write it the same way in your letter. Please allow 3 days for me to complete your letter.

Slow-cooked Black Walnut ink (1 oz.)

When I was little, our school playground had black walnut trees around the perimeter. During recess, my friends and I would tear the green flesh from the walnuts just because it was fun to stain our hands that blackish brown color. I still think it's fun! So, I don't mind having my hands stained for a week while I make this ink.

I've collected black walnuts from friends, family, and even an Etsy seller (http://www.etsy.com/shop/scarscrafts) and slow cooked them for several days. I then filter them at least half a dozen times, then reduce the mixture again until it's just the right color. Somehow, I even managed to filter the final batch while wearing my favorite light colored sweatshirt andmy favorite jeans. Murphy's law says I should have spilled the whole pot all over myself...

This careful filtering and reduction produces a thick, golden brown ink that is wonderful for writing with dip-pens or feather quills. If you're interested in letter-writing, sending invitations to an important event, or just have a fondness for the old-fashioned way of life and handmade stationary, you really need to try this ink. You can also paint with it; or stain fabric, yarn, wood, or paper with it.

It will arrive to you as pictured in a sturdy clear plastic bottle with a pop-off lid (envelope and feather not included with purchase). I have tested each bottle and lid to make sure they are secure and tight-fitting, but not so difficult to get off that you'll end up spilling the ink all over yourself in the process of opening it. Believe me, I'm a clutz so if it was going to cause problems, I would have made a mess already. I will package the bottle carefully and pad it well inside the box I send it in.

Due to the nature of black walnuts, this ink WILL stain hands and clothing it comes into contact with. I have added alcohol to the ink to prevent molding, so before you use it each time, the bottle needs to be shaken well, otherwise you'll just end up dipping your pen into a layer of alcohol. Alcohol is not as good for writing as ink is. Sunlight, over time, will break down the organic matter in this ink, so it should be stored in a dark place or in an opaque or covered container.

Each of these 10 envelopes is made from pages of magazines or junk mail advertisements and is cut and assembled by hand. They have various colors, patterns, and may or may not have text. Each envelope is approximately 3 and 5/8 inches by 2 and 1/2 inches (9.6 by 6.5 centimeters), a perfect size for business cards, to place in scrapbooks to hold ticket stubs, or to store a sweet note to slip in your hubby's pocket as a surprise. This listing is for a package stuffed with $15 worth of paper goodies. But I won't tell you what. It might be a new fiber I am experimenting with, a new texture, or a whole new product entirely! Maybe I'm working with a new paper for my rolled paper beads, or a new shape or size. Maybe I have some odd sized beads I need to clear out. You might get paper with inclusions, like flower petals, herbs, seeds, colored threads, glitter, or confetti flecks. Treasure map journal with handmade paper pages

I love the unique character each journal ends up having once it's finished. You can really feel the potential of each blank book, hand made from top to bottom (pages and all). Pirates have always fascinated me, so what better combination than a pirate's treasure map made into a journal!

This 4.25 x 2.5 inch (10.8 by 6.5 cm) journal has a cover made from repurposed cardboard and my own handmade paper that was aged, distressed, and has a hand-drawn treasure map on it. Due to the map being hand drawn, your journal will vary from the one pictured in the shape of the landmasses and the design of the compass rose. The 120 pages (front and back) inside are my white handmade paper made from recycled scrap paper. The inside of the cover is covered with pieces of brown paper that was rescued from the garbage and repurposed.

The coptic stitching of this journal (shown in photo 1) not only looks good, but it allows the journal to lay completely flat when open (great writing away from a desk and for lefties!).

This paper is made from 100% cardboard, paperboard, and scraps of magazine pages that I have collected and recycled myself. I was SO excited when I discovered how to recycle cereal boxes, the clippings from making my paper beads, and the cardboard snippets left over from making journal covers. I'm thrilled to be able to make them into this wonderful brown paper!

Making paper is a meditative process for me. There's something very relaxing to the simple, repetitive process. The end result of having a crisp, clean sheet of paper brings to mind endless possibilities. Scraptastic Recycled Journal with handmade paper pages

I'll fess up. I'm a pack rat. You caught me. I can't throw away even the tiniest snippets of paper. The small ones I throw into batches of colored handmade paper, but the larger ones I have carefillu glued to a stiff magazine page and cut to fit on the front and back covers of this little journal.

This 4.25 x 2.5 inch (10.8 by 6.5 cm) journal has a cover made from repurposed cardboard and my own white handmade paper, and on top of the paper I glued a rectangle made up of all kinds of colored paper (and even a few cloth) scraps left from other projects. These bits of handmade paper, wrapping paper, security envelopes, and other scraps were glued to form a single sheet, then painted with a coat of sealer to make sure everything is sturdy, protected from dirt and grime, and will stay put. It's quite the colorful mess!

Paper cranes are a symbol of good luck in the Japanese culture, and according to legend, folding 1000 of them will grant the folder a wish.

This mini journal is approximately 2 by 1.5 inches (5.08 cm by 3.81 cm) and has 96 pages front and back made from my brown handmade paper which is made from recycled cardboard. The cover is wrapped in brown paper and on the front cover, a delicate, miniature paper crane seems to be peeling itself from the cover so it can fly away. The inside of the covers are decorated with lighter brown paper and the binding is sewn with tan hemp thread. So delicate in it's simplicity

This snowman is a little over 4 inches tall. His body and hat are made from recycled newspaper, his arms and nose made from natural twigs, his scarf is made of ribbon, and he is hand-painted with acrylic paints. His arms, hat, and nose have been sealed with polycrylic sealer to protect them.

The brown paper is made from 100% cardboard, paperboard, and scraps of magazine pages that I have collected and recycled myself. I was SO excited when I discovered how to recycle cereal boxes, the clippings from making my paper beads, and the cardboard snippets left over from making journal covers. The white paper is recycled from used office, printer, and notebook paper.

Making paper is a meditative process for me. There's something very relaxing to the simple, repetitive process. The end result of having a crisp, clean sheet of paper brings to mind endless possibilities. Anything that may have been upsetting or stressful before just melts away after I open up a whole world of opportunities with that one simple sheet of paper.

Decorated entirely with handmade paper in shades of pink, this 2 by 1.75 inch (5.08 cm by 4.45 cm) coptic-stitched journal will have you tickled pink! The covers are made from repurposed cardboard and chipboard and sewn with hemp thread. It has a built-in bookmark decorated with one of my red paper beads. It has 80 pages (front and back) made from my white handmade paper.

5x7 inch pirate treasure map journal with handmade paper pages

Ahoy, landlubbers! If ye love pirates and pirate stories, and an old-fashioned X-marks-the-spot treasure map, ye've come to the right spot! This journal combines all the swashbuckling things I love and wraps them around 60 pages (front and back) of my handmade paper.

This blank journal is 5 x 7.5 inches (12.7 by 19.05 cm). The side edges of the handmade recycled paper pages are left with the deckled edge, giving it a rough, feathered look. You may have either brown or white pages in your journal. Please specify which in the "Notes to Seller" on your Etsy purchase upon checkout. If you do not specify, I will choose the color.

The cover is a work of art in itself, being made from a sheet of paper which was stained and distressed by hand before I drew the fictional islands, their features, and the compass rose. The map was then wrapped around two covers made from reclaimed cardboard and chipboard. The inside cover pages are handmade brown paper recycled from cardboard and chipboard scraps. The binding is a coptic stitch with hemp thread, which gives it a nautical, braided look and makes the journal all the more beautiful for exposing the spine and binding. The other wonderful thing about the coptic stitch is that it allows the journal to lie entirely flat when open, which makes it great for writing on the go when you don't have the convenience of a desk.

The handmade paper of the pages is tough and will hold up to almost any media. See the final image for all the types I've tested so far. Each of these 10 envelopes is made from my handmade paper and is cut and assembled by hand. They are various shades of white, and being made from handmade paper means they all have their own unique character. Each envelope is approximately 4 x 5 inches (10.16 by 12.7 cm), a perfect size for notes, cards, letters, or small photos. This listing is for 100 one-inch long paper beads hand-rolled from colorful magazine and junk mail pages. They will arrive unsealed (no protective coating) in a variety of color combinations. You can use them for jewelry, Christmas tree decorations, decorative garlands, bead curtains, and anything else your imagination comes up with!

I can seal your beads with two coats of polycrylic to make them sturdier and keep them free of dust and dirt, and to make them more water-resistant (not water-PROOF) for an additional $2.

Handmade Paper Journal Burgundy Coptic Stitched

I love the unique character each journal ends up having once it's finished. You can really feel the potential of each blank book, hand made from top to bottom (pages and all).

This 4.25 x 3.25 inch (10.8 by 8.26 cm) journal has a cover made from repurposed cardboard and my own handmade paper painted with home-made paste paint in a rich burgundy color. The 144 pages (front and back) inside are my white handmade paper made from recycled scrap paper. The inside of the cover is covered with pieces of red handmade paper that has occasional flecks of blue.

To see what media you can use on my paper, see the final picture. The only ones that bled through the back of the page were the sharpie markers and highlighter.

Christmas tree mini journal-- 2.25 x 2.75 inch with recycled handmade paper pages

This mini journal is approximately 2.25 by 2.75 inches (5.7 cm by 7 cm) and has 120 pages front and back made from my white handmade paper. The cover is wrapped in a scrap of Christmas wrapping paper with a decorated tree pattern. The inside of the covers are decorated with green paper and the binding is sewn with red and white baker's twine. It's like a mini Christmas present that you can write in!

Due to the fragile nature of wrapping paper, this journal has some scuffs of white on it, especially at the corners and edges. But don't worry, it goes well with the old-fashioned tree pattern. It just makes it look old and well loved even though it really was just created.

See the last photo to see what media my paper will hold up to! Those are the only ones I have tested. If you want to use any medium that is not listed, convo me and I will test it if I have the medium available. The only things that I tested that bled through the back of the paper were the sharpie pens and the highlighter. Everything else stayed put!

50% of the money from this sale will be donated to my local library. Currently they are experiencing MAJOR cuts and are uncertain about the future of several branches. I'm not saying I can save the libraries by selling paper beads, but every few dollars helps!

This listing is for 200 one-inch long paper beads hand-rolled from colorful magazine pages. They will arrive sealed (two protective coats of polycrylic) in a variety of color combinations. You can use them for jewelry, Christmas tree decorations, decorative garlands, bead curtains, and anything else your imagination comes up with!

I seal your beads with two coats of polycrylic to make them sturdier and keep them free of dust and dirt, and to make them more water-resistant (not water-PROOF).

These envelopes are made from paper that is recycled from 100% cardboard and chipboard scraps that I have collected and recycled myself.

Each of these 30 envelopes is made from my brown handmade paper and is cut and assembled by hand. They are various shades of brown, and being made from handmade paper means they all have their own unique character. Each envelope is approximately 4 x 5 inches, a perfect size for notes, cards, letters, or small photos. Seal them with a kiss, wax seal, glue, a pressed flower or just one petal, stickers, stamps, or just about anything else you can think of to add a warm touch to your notes and cards!

I love all of my handmade paper, but I am particularly frond of this brown paper. I am thrilled that I can turn cereal boxes and scrap cardboard into handmade paper, and the brown color is so rustic and natural, I never get tired of making things with it.

Making paper is a meditative process for me. There's something very relaxing to the simple, repetitive process. The end result of having a crisp, clean sheet of paper brings to mind endless possibilities. Anything that may have been upsetting or stressful before just melts away after I open up a whole world of opportunities with that one simple sheet of paper. This paper has a wonderful color and texture. It's not the blinding stark white of office paper, but a slightly softer white. The paper feels soft and smooth, waiting to be folded, written on, or cut!

Journal 2x1.5 inch Postage stamp themed, recycled handmade paper pages

I love the quaint mystery of a plain brown-paper-and-twine-wrapped parcel in the mail, so I brought that imagery into the design of this journal.

This mini journal is approximately 2 by 1.5 inches (5.08 cm by 3.81 cm) and has 96 pages front and back made from my white handmade paper. The cover is wrapped in brown paper and a piece of paper with stamped postage clipped from an envelope. The inside of the covers are decorated with one postage stamp each (the stamps in your journal may differ from the ones pictures) and the binding is sewn with tan hemp thread. It's like a mini parcel that you can write in!

This paper is made from 100% office, notebook, printer and other waste papers that I have collected and recycled myself. The only ingredients involved are paper and water! I don't like to add chemicals to my paper. The two main ones used in most papermaking are some kind of sizing, (which prevents bleeding and feathering of inks) and bleach. I don't use either of these because the paper I recycle into my handmade paper often already has sizing in it from the manufacturer, and I really prefer the natural look of handmade paper with the tiny speckles left by the ground up text and pictures, as opposed to a blinding white.

20 recycled 3d paper hearts

These paper hearts are made using recycled paper pulp, pressed into a mold and left to dry. They are about 1 inch square at their widest points, and very lightweight. You could use them as a 3D decoration to a box, card, journal, picture frame, or glue a magnet to the back to stick it to your fridge. You could leave them plain, seal them with a clear coat, or paint over them to jazz them up to your liking!

You will receive 10 random hearts from the stock I have on hand. I make these hearts from the leftover pulp after I make paper. I always have a bit left that isn't enough to make another sheet, but I don't waste it! The color of your hearts will depend on what batch of paper I have made recently and had leftover pulp from.

Pink and white recycled paper bowl

White on the outside, pink on the inside! This little bowl would be great for holding keys, jewelry, coins, or other small items. It is made from recycled newspaper, office paper, and other fibers and has been sealed with polycryclic to make it sturdy and water resistant (but not waterproof!). Not suitable for holding liquids or extremely heavy items (no boulders, but marbles and small rocks are ok). It would even look good sitting empty on the table!

Bowl measures approximately 4 inches (10.16 cm) in diameter and 2 inches (5.08 cm) tall.
