This is a beautiful piece that goes from a light green into purple.

Chain is 18” and pendant is 2.00”

Formerly called fluorspar, fluorite has a wide range of colors including yellow, blue, pink purple and green. It is an interesting and beautiful stone because often more than one color occurs in a single stone. The ancient Egyptians used flourite to carve statues and scarabs, the Chinese have used it in carvings for over 300 years.
Fluorite may occur as a vein deposit, especially with metallic minerals, where it often forms a part of the gangue (the worthless "host-rock" in which valuable minerals occur) and may be associated with galena, sphalerite, barite, quartz, and calcite. It is a common mineral in deposits of hydrothermal origin and has been noted as a primary mineral in granites and other igneous rocks and as a common minor constituent of dolostone and limestone.
The series was inspired by puzzles and insects. The series consist of photo based, mixed media, insect, portrait puzzles. It is an artistic exploration into the world of insects and investigates what it means to relate aesthetically with these terrestrial creatures that both inspire and repel us. These works are whimsical, informative and aesthetically inspiring, providing a medium that’s makes us slow down to appreciate and rethink our relationship with bugs.

How they are made:
I am a collector of insects, so all of the photographs are taken by me of the treasures in my collection. After I take the photograph I print it onto watercolor paper. I then create a puzzle with an outer box and recycled pieces of wood that fit into the box. I attach the photograph to the wood pieces with acid free archival glue. I then cover each piece with bee's wax and then glue back into the box. The reason the pieces are not moveable is because they are meant to be a piece of art not really a toy. Plus they don't hang very well with pieces tumbling out.

$60.00
One of a kind mini art puzzle

Size: 6.5 x 4.0 x 3.0

Please note: The pieces do not move, it is a static puzzle with the pieces glued in.

This is a piece from my “Into Pieces” series.

Sand is mostly comprised of quartz; even the dust in the air is high in quartz content. The most well-known form of quartz is clear rock crystal, and it may be found throughout the world.
Quartz belongs to the trigonal crystal system. The ideal crystal shape is a six-sided prism terminating with six-sided pyramids at each end. In nature quartz crystals are often twinned, distorted, or so intergrown with adjacent crystals of quartz or other minerals as to only show part of this shape, or to lack obvious crystal faces altogether and appear massive.

Free Shipping

Chain is 18” and pendant is 2.25”

Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz and is a popular gemstone. The name "amethyst" comes from the Greek and means "not drunken." This was maybe due to a belief that amethyst would ward off the effects of alcohol, but most likely the Greeks were referring to the almost wine-like color of some stones that they may have encountered. Its color is unparalleled, and even other, more expensive purple gemstones are often compared to its color and beauty.
As a mineral specimen, amethyst is popular for its color and nice crystal shapes that produce a handsome, purple, sparkling cluster.
Free Shipping
This is a beautiful piece that goes from a purple to a light green.

Chain is 18” and pendant is 2.25”

Rose quartz is one of the most desirable varieties of quartz. The pink to rose red color is completely unique, unlike any other pink mineral species. The color is caused by iron and titanium impurities. Rose quartz is used as an ornamental stone and as a gemstone. Although rose quartz is usually too cloudy to be used as a cut gemstone, a few exceptional pieces are found with enough clarity and color to make fine gems. Most gemmy rose quartz is used as cabochons where the clarity is not as important as the color.

Free Shipping
Sand is mostly comprised of quartz; even the dust in the air is high in quartz content. The most well-known form of quartz is clear rock crystal, and it may be found throughout the world.
Quartz belongs to the trigonal crystal system. The ideal crystal shape is a six-sided prism terminating with six-sided pyramids at each end. In nature quartz crystals are often twinned, distorted, or so intergrown with adjacent crystals of quartz or other minerals as to only show part of this shape, or to lack obvious crystal faces altogether and appear massive.

Free Shipping

Old World porcupines (Hystricidae) have quills embedded in clusters, whereas in New World porcupines (Erethizontidae) single quills are interspersed with bristles, underfur, and hair.
Quills are released by contact with them, or they may drop out when the porcupine shakes its body, but cannot be projected at attackers, contrary to popular belief. New quills grow to replace lost ones.

Free Shipping

$65.00
Giant Brown Cricket Puzzle with Amber Shell

One of a kind mini art puzzle with Amber Shell

Size: 6.4 x 4.5 x 2.5

Please note: The pieces do not move, it is a static puzzle with the pieces glued in.

This is a piece from my “Into Pieces” series.
