I love the colors in this one! Using a macro lens, I photographed an Astilbe in my mothers’ garden. These flowers are early summer bloomers that like lots of water and very little sun. The afternoon lighting has caused a deep rich blue hole for one taller rose pink flower to shine. Adding depth to this photograph, the other flowers are in a softer focus making your eye look at the beautiful contrast between light and dark.

I came across this brick building while teaching a class about cameras. I couldn’t resist filling the lens with this beautiful flower garden and the white trimmed windows. The vibrant gold, reds, and yellows of the flowers pop from the brick background. With the lighting coming in from the east the sun keeps these bricks from looking cold, making them appear a warm crimson red instead. This calming photograph is great for adding color to any room!

There are seven different species of sea turtles found all over the world’s oceans except the Artic Ocean. Four of seven can be found in the Hawaiian waters. Green sea turtles, or honu, are the most endangered of the Hawaiian sea creatures.
Taken in Hawaii, these honu are enjoying a swim and getting fed at a park. Although I did swim in the ocean, I wasn’t fortunate to see the sea turtle in its natural habitat. Scientist are helping sea turtles from being extinct by controlling the beaches and making sure that humans aren’t bringing these beautiful reptiles home for pets or using the shells for jewelry. The best way to capture is through the lens of a camera.

I’ve taken this photograph of two Emperor penguins at an exhibit in Montreal.While one of them steals the attention the other is hiding by not showing his gorgeous colors. The Emperor penguin is the largest of penguins reaching up to 40 inches tall or the largest seen weighing 88 lbs. The Emperor penguin is black, white, and bright yellow in color creating a lovely picture for a child’s room, or maybe on a wall in the bathroom. This is a great gift for a penguin lover!

Just another one of mans best friends. Godiva, my best friend, is posing here on a rainy day in the mud. I just love how her red collar stands out amongst the dark brown fur as she stands here so calm and relaxed looking at something I don’t recall. She is much larger now and can’t get enough of playing fetch with a gross and disgusting tennis ball no body wants to touch. I love the colors in this photo with its contrasting light and dark browns and then this bold red collar. It’s hard not to love it! This could make a great gift to any dog lover, or lover of labs, or just a person who loves this photograph.

While walking through a butterfly garden I came across this little guy. At first sight you would think this is going to turn into a beautiful butterfly but nope it’s actually a moth. A black rhino wallows in the mud to cool down from the hot afternoon sun. Although this rhinoceros doesn’t live in any part of Africa, it is living a full life in Florida at the Animal Kingdom Safari. The population of the Black Rhino has decreased do to poachers hunting them for their horns. However this one is at no threat and will enjoy its day keeping cool and safe from human kind. This photograph is the safest way to have a Black Rhino in your house. Whether it will be hanging on a wall in a kid’s room, or hanging on a wall in a Safari themed room, I think you will enjoy this photo.

While at a market in Maine, I photographed some of the most colorful veggies. I decided that I would take these photographs and transfer them onto a hard plastic and make some fun magnets. This beautiful black and white photograph of a water lily can add a peaceful and calming atmosphere to any home or office. Taken with a Nikon film camera and macro lens I cropped in real close to see the water drops on some of the petals. You can see the darkest of blacks, and all shades in between, to the brightest of white in this simple, yet elegant photograph.

This photo of a bangle tiger basking in the sun has been transfered onto a hard plastic creating a fun pendant. Hangs from sterling silver wire. Sprayed with a sealer for protection but not recommended wearing in water.

Using a macro lens, I photographed an Astilbe in my mothers’ garden. These flowers are early summer bloomers that like lots of water and very little sun. However you don't see that in this photo. I just love the bright pink on this green background!
