Ice Cream Caravan is a work within a series in which I use the circus as a metaphor for life in Los Angeles. It is inspired by the various neighborhood ice cream trucks that roam the streets of my community.

The print depicts a man in the foreground in a state of panic because the Ice Cream Truck / Circus Caravan is broken. It is symbolic of the ingenuity and the struggle that many individuals face in an effort to support themselves financially.

In this print the Caravan normally used in the circus for transport and shelter has been appropriated as a live/work space serving several purposes. It functions as a living space, a small mobile business, and most importantly it creates a sense of warmth, happiness and nostalgia for the children in the neighborhood that run to it everytime they hear it's music roaming through the streets.
