This work dress and pinafore were designed to fit 18 inch cloth bodied dolls. The pale yellow print work dress has a simple rounded neckline and long sleeves with cuffs that close with Velcro. The center back opening also closes with Velcro. The pinafore/apron is made from pale yellow batiste. It opens completely in the back but only the yoke is closed with Velcro. The rest of the back remains open, just as the pinafores in 1904. This outfit would be perfect for Nellie.

1774-301 Dark Blue Colonial Gown for 18 Inch Doll

This dress is perfect for an afternoon tea or any other occasion when a girl in 1774 needs to look particularly nice. The intense blue gown has a V-front bodice that has a white sheer ruffle at the neckline. The elbow length sleeves are finished with a ruffle at the bottom and white trim. The center back opening is secured with Velcro. The pinner cap features 1½ inch white gathered lace. White satin bows add a pretty touch to the cap as well as to the bodice front. The pinner cap is secured in the doll’s hair with a barrette stitched to the under side of the pinner cap. The drawstring purse completes her outfit.

Narrow elastic gathers this white camisa’s neckline and sleeves forming small ruffles. The camisa opens in the back and is secured with Velcro. The skirt gathers to a waistband that opens in the back. It too is secured with Velcro. The skirt fabric’s design is woven into the fabric and is very similar to what a southwestern girl of 1824 might wear. The brown fringed sash is made from Ultrasuede and ties simply in the front.

This early 1900’s era dress is made from a soft pale pink batiste. The fabric for the bodice and sleeves has small dots woven into it. The fabric for the skirt has the most elegant embroidery. Please be sure to look at the close up photo of the skirt. There is an overlay of white lace on the narrow collar band and at the sleeve edges. The short full sleeves have elastic causing them to hug her arm just above the elbow. The dropped waist seamline is accented by a bow made from the same fabric. The bow is stitched in place. The dress opens in the back and is secured with Velcro.

Again I have made this dress to be very similar to one found in the Sears catalog in 1912. The bodice features a squared sailor style collar edged with plaid binding. The same diagonal plaid was used for the cuffs, bow and decorative piping. The bodice gathers into a contoured waistband. Both the bodice back and the cuffs fasten with Velcro. In the verbiage from the Sears catalog the dress has a “full plaited skirt.”

This fun polka dot dress is perfect for a warm day in 1944. It has a full skirt with 2 front pockets trimmed with twin rows of small white rick rack. The full sleeves have an elastic casing at the edges and are capped with a rick rack trimmed ruffle. The center back opening is fastened with Velcro. There is a self fabric sash that ties in the back. The bow is not pre-tied so young fingers will need to be able to tie the bow.

This dress was made from a reproduction fabric from the 1930’s. The white collar is embellished with purple embroidered flowers. The waistline piping in the same shade of purple adds interest but in 1934 would have been added with very little cost. The semi-circular skirt is attached to the bodice with only a slight amount of gathering. The short full sleeves are gathered to a narrow white band. The dress opens in the back and is secured with Velcro.

This outfit includes a white cotton knit turtle neck sweater with 3 red hearts embroidered on the front. It opens in the back and is secured with Velcro. The denim jeans have back patch pockets, fly front and waistband that closes with Velcro and a row of embroidered red hearts on the left leg. The denim is an interesting two tone denim. The denim is woven with navy as the dominant color on the right side but on the wrong side the dominant threads are red giving the jeans an interesting red glow (not very visible in the photos). The red slip-on shoes complete the outfit.

The little gathered ruffle at the hem is made from the same knit. The micro wale corduroy skirt comes to just above the knee. The small floral print on the corduroy is in fall shades of reds, gold and green on a black background. The skirt has a center front fly that closes with Velcro. The top fastens in the back with Velcro as well. Add khaki suede boots and you’re ready for school.

Because this nightgown is made from a soft, synthetic flannel we would be bending history just a tad to put it on Felicity or Elizabeth but if you don’t check the fabric content no one would ever know. I show it modeled by both Elizabeth and Addy to show its versatility. Design features include a round yoke, elastic at the wrists and lace at the neck. It closes with Velcro in the back.

It may be warm outside now but Josefina needs to plan for colder winter days. Here is the perfect outfit for her. The skirt is made from a wool blend, woven in a design that she might have woven as she became more proficient at weaving. Due to the bulkier nature of the fabric the skirt is only slightly gathered. The skirt has a waistband that is not visible in the photos. The sash is made from Ultrasuede. Because of the loose weave of the fabric, Velcro would have snagged it so snaps close the back opening and waistband. The earthy tones in the skirt are complimented by an off white long sleeved camisa made from a cotton gauzy fabric. The long sleeves have elastic at the wrists. The neckline is a simple bias band of fabric to which the bodice is gathered. The back closes with Velcro. The wool sarape simply slips over her head. The neck and side edges are neatly finished and the bottom edges are fringed.

Although the skirt may appear to be circular it is in fact octagonal, giving the edge a slighty "pointy" hemline. The hemline is accented with suedecloth fringe. The pants are simple pull-on pants made from a stretch denim with a woven design (please see the close up photo). They have encased elastic at the waist. The long sleeved knit top has self ribbing at the neckline and wrists. It opens completely in the back and closes with Velcro. The fleece jacket’s hood and sleeves have narrow elastic casings and 2 patch pockets. The 2 front tabs with Velcro beneath will keep the jacket closed and the doll toasty warm. Best friends, Julie and Ivy, model these fun school clothes. This listing is for the squiggle stripe pants and white top.

The 1976 Sears Catalog described tops like the white one as “big tops.” The long sleeved batiste “big top” is trimmed in lace and grosgrain ribbon and fastens in the back with Velcro. The wide legged pants are made from a lightweight novelty denim that has multi-colored fun squiggle stripes. In the mid 1970’s pants were often made from prints, plaids and stripes and were beginning to evolve from bell bottom styles to wide leg styles. These pants have a front waistband and back waist elastic.

If you would like the bright yellow turtleneck and/or the sandals please contact me before purchasing this so that I can revise the listing to include them. The yellow turtleneck can be added for $4.40 and the sandals can be added for $5.20.

The yellow sheer plaid has a slight texture similar to seersucker. The short full sleeves are gathered into a band. The same band can be found at the neckline. To add some frill there are 3 self fabric rosettes with ribbon tails at the front waistline. There is a large self fabric bow tied in the back. The back closure is Velcro. The headpiece (a ring of small silk flowers) has a yellow ribbon bow with tails. The bouquet has an elastic loop so the doll can carry the bouquet without assistance. 1944-103-1-1 Pinafore and Blouse for Molly or Emily

This pinafore dress and blouse are nearly identical to one found in the Sears catalogue in 1941. The catalogue price for the dress and blouse was $1.00…..imagine that! One of the views pictured in the catalogue shows the pinafore being worn without the blouse, as a sundress. As we were coming out of the depression and heading into the war years, a dress that could be worn in multiple ways would have been a practical purchase.

The pinafore is made from a yellow and white gingham checked plisse fabric and the blouse is made from white polyester/cotton batiste. The blouse features a peter pan collar and full and short sleeves with a pleat and hem at the bottom edges in lieu of the tradition gathering and cuff (just like the one in the catalogue picture). It opens in the back and is secured with Velcro. The pinafore dress has 2 patch pockets on the front of the gathered a-line skirt; squared front neckline; and sash that ties in the back. Please note that the sash is not pre-tied and will require that the owner can tie a bow.

This listing is for the pinafore and blouse, however I would be willing to sell the pinafore or blouse individually. If you want either of them without the other please contact me prior to purchasing and I will revise the listing for you. The blouse by itself is $12.05 and the pinafore is $10.85.

The long sleeved knit top has self ribbing at the neckline and wrists. It opens completely in the back and closes with Velcro. The fleece jacket’s hood and sleeves have narrow elastic casings and 2 patch pockets. The 2 front tabs with Velcro beneath will keep the jacket closed and the doll toasty warm. The fleece is a multitude of shades of red and maroon and white but what makes it more fun is the snowflake pattern in the fabric. In the center of the pleats are 3 little orange buttons. The peter pan collar is white. The short, full sleeves are gathered into narrow bands. A narrow sash ties in the back. Please note that it is not pre-tied so younger fingers may need help tying the bow. The dress opens in the back and is secured with Velcro.

This early 1900’s era dress is striking because of the lace overlay and the sash/bow. The bodice has a narrow neckband and long full sleeves which are finished with a cuff that closes with Velcro. The dress fabric is a lightweight polyester lining weight fabric. The dropped waist seam is accented by a wide sash and a bow made from the same fabric as the dress. The bow is stitched in place so there will be no need to constantly retie it :) The dress opens in the back and is secured with Velcro.

Note: Although all seams are serged, because this dress is made from a lightweight lining weight fabric I would be concerned with its durability to hold up to harsh abuse by young children.

It opens completely in the back but only the yoke is closed with Velcro. The rest of the back remains open, just as the pinafores in 1904. This outfit would be perfect for Nellie.

This practical package comes with one silver shell, one long black stretch velour skirt, one shorter orange skirt and one pair of silver shoes. The sparkly silver knit top is fully lined and the Velcro on the back is the snag free kind so that it won't catch on the loose weave. The tiered skirt is made from a deep orange that has an interesting vertical weave with a silver thread running through it. To accent the skirt's yoke there is a simple row of silver metallic braid trim and a tiny silver bow. The long black skirt is made from stretch velour giving it the look of velvet but the durability and ease in dressing of a knit. Both skirts have elastic at the waist.

Do you remember those flared sleeves from the mid-70's? Maybe that was before your time....but oh, I remember them! I was amused when I looked at the vintage pattern that I used as my "model" because the shape of the dress is exactly what I had just used for Ruthie and Kit. Sleeve styles and fabric changed but overall styles just got recycled!

Here is a dress using those flared sleeves, princess lines, short skirt length and a daisy print fabric. All were popular features in the 70’s. The neckline is embellished with a feminine pale yellow lacey trim and the dress has a sash that ties in the back. The sash is not pre-tied so young fingers would need to be able to tie a bow.

The design for this dress was copied from a Butterick pattern from 1914. The pastel blue dress has an empire bodice and lots of lacey details. The bodice front is slightly gathered, has soft shoulder pleats and vertical lace overlays. The under bodice has horizontal rows of lace. The neckline features a small ruffle of gathered lace. The sleeves and empire waist are accented with eyelet beading with white satin ribbon threaded through the beading and small ribbon bows. The same white satin ribbon forms an off center waistline bow with longer streaming tails. The skirt has soft pleats in the front and is slightly gathered in the back. The center back opening closes with Velcro.

This outfit is modeled by one of the Bitty Twins and also by Bitty Baby. It was designed to fit 15” cloth bodied baby dolls. The jumper is made from a pale blue, very narrow wale corduroy. There is a pretty pink embroidered butterfly accented with pink sequins on the jumper front. The bodice part of the jumper is lined. It opens most of the way down the back and closes with Velcro. The pink cotton knit blouse has self ribbing at the neckline and short, full sleeves. The sleeves have narrow elastic near the edges. The blouse opens completely in the back for easier dressing and it too closes with Velcro. The sweet ballerina style shoes are the perfect color to match the corduroy jumper. They are easy to put on and stay in place because of the elastic band over the doll’s foot.

WWII Era Corduroy Jumper and White Blouse

The design for this sweet jumper and blouse was copied from an outfit featured in the Sears catalogue in 1943. The jumper is made from fine wale corduroy in a cranberry color. The bodice is fully lined with lightweight polyester lining. The heart neckline has a single row of top stitching to set it off. There are two patch pockets on the front of the gored A-line skirts. The waistband secures in the center back with Velcro. The white blouse is made from a lightweight batiste. It features peter pan collar and a front pleat with lace on either side of the pleat. The full short sleeves gather into narrow bands. The blouse opens in the back and is secured with Velcro. A tiny satin ribbon bow adds color accent to the blouse.

1944-103-2-3 Seersucker Pinafore and Blouse for Molly or Emily

This pinafore dress and blouse are nearly identical to one found in the Sears catalogue in 1941. That one too is made from a narrow striped fabric. The catalogue price for the dress and blouse was $1.00…..imagine that! One of the views pictured in the catalogue shows the pinafore being worn without the blouse, as a sundress. As we were coming out of the depression and heading into the war years, a dress that could be worn in multiple ways would have been a practical purchase.

I chose a bluish green and white striped seersucker for this dress and a white polyester/cotton batiste for the blouse. The blouse features a peter pan collar and full and short sleeves with a pleat and hem at the bottom edges in lieu of the tradition gathering and cuff (just like the one in the catalogue picture). It opens in the back and is secured with Velcro. The pinafore dress has 2 patch pockets on the front of the gathered a-line skirt; squared front neckline; and sash that ties in the back. Please note that the sash is not pre-tied and will require that the owner can tie a bow.

This listing is for a single dress and blouse, however I would be willing to sell the pinafore or blouse individually. If you want either of them without the other please contact me prior to purchasing and I will revise the listing for you. The blouse by itself is $12.05 and the pinafore is $10.85.

In the early 1900’s dresses with sailor styling were extremely popular. Here’s a dress for Samantha that features that styling. It is made from a blue cotton fabric. The white collar is accented with a row of red middy braid. The cuffs have a double row of narrow red satin ribbon. A red satin picot ribbon bow is stitched to the center front. The collar band and white front inset are made from white batiste. The bodice and skirt are gathered into a dropped waist seam. The dress opens in the back and is secured with Velcro. The white cuffs do open (to insure Samantha’s fingers will fit through) and they too are secured with Velcro.

These pajamas are made from a pale lavender, soft cotton knit . For ease in dressing they feature elastic waists and Velcro back closures. The wrist and ankle ribbing is self ribbing made from the same knit as the pajamas. The pajamas come with a fleece blanket as well. The blanket edges have been serged for a nice finish.

This 1930’s era dress is made from a lavender cotton fabric with a tiny, doll-sized floral print. The princess lines are accented by the sash that is sewn into the front seams and is designed to be tied in the back. The bow is not pre-tied so young fingers will need to be able to tie a bow. The white peter pan collar is trimmed with a narrow lace edging. The small satin ribbon bow at the neckline adds an additional pretty touch. The dress opens in the back and is secured with Velcro. I am showing this dress on Ruthie because a dress with a lace trimmed collar would have been outside the budget for Kit’s family.

Emancipation Proclamation and Dress for Addy

This dress is similar to Addy's retired Patriotic Dress. Instead of making this in a red fabric I chose a true medium blue pin dot fabric. The blue fabric is nicely accented with white lace on the skirt, collar band and sleeve cuffs. The dress back and the cuffs fasten with Velcro. The red satin patriotic ribbon has a small photo of Abraham Lincoln in the center. The red satin hair ribbon is included.

To help Addy read the Emancipation Proclamation at church on New Year's Eve this dress comes with a copy of that document printed on a scroll of parchment type paper.

Your 18" doll will be ready for a hike in the woods with this complete ensemble....whether it is a bright sunny day or whether there is chill in the air. The olive green woven nylon shorts are loaded with detail. They have a lots of top stitching, a waistband, fly front (closes with Velcro), front pleats, curved inset pockets, tabbed patch pockets on each leg and belt loops. The pockets are not faux pockets but are real, true pockets. There is encased elastic in the back waist to give the shorts a slightly better fit. There are 2 knit tops included in this package: a sleeveless one and a long sleeved one. Both open completely in the back and are closed with Velcro. It’s time to think about mittens and jackets and turtlenecks again as the weather turns chilly. This outfit fits the bill. There is a pair of pink corduroy jeans that have lots of top stitching, a fly front and back patch pockets. The long sleeved turtleneck is made from a bright pink and blue cotton knit. It has self ribbing at the wrists and neckline. It opens in the back and closes with Velcro. The fleece jacket’s hood and sleeves have narrow elastic casings and 2 front patch pockets. The 2 front tabs (with Velcro beneath) will keep the jacket closed and the doll toasty warm. To keep hands and fingers warm as well there are matching fleece mittens. They have elastic at the wrists to help keep them in place. The pink sneakers are included.
