This mid sized Janet handbag fits great on both your arm or in your hands.
The exterior is a red cotton fabric with black dots and green swirls.
The lining is a solid green cotton.
The closure is a magnetic snap. There are no interior pockets.
There is green colored 7/8" grosgrain ribbon sewn around the bag's exterior. The ribbon criss-crosses the front and a swirl made from the ribbon is placed over the intersection.
The strap is a black cotton ribbon of "laddered" circles that mimic the dots and swirls of the fabric. It is one loop that is held at the sides under a pocket of sorts inside each side of the bag. These "pockets" are made from the same fabric as the exterior, giving a pop of contrast on the interior.

The lining is interfaced to give some shape and stability.

This bag is large and open for extra stuffability. Okay, so that's not a word, but it describes it well. I was able to fit two beach towels plus a change of clothes in my bag. I have also used it to cart around the craft and art stuff I work on during shows...which is a lot.

I paired the Alexander Henry Chocolate Jewel Mobile cotton print with solid pink twill cotton side and center panels. The front center panel is hand painted by me to mimic the print.

Inside there are 2 pockets, one of each fabric. The print pockets is single open. The solid pink pocket is divided into 4 pockets, one of which is pen sized.

The straps are two sided and have twill tape sandwiched between. This give the straps more heft.

The khaki lining is interfaced and at the bottom there is extra thick interface quilted on for added support.

There is rose colored 7/8" grosgrain ribbon sewn around the bag's exterior. There is a vintage styled antiqued bronze stamped metal floral filigree attached to a gathering of the rose ribbon on the front of the bag.
The strap is the same rose ribbon, stuffed with polar fleece to make them soft to grip. It is one loop that is held at the sides under a pocket of sorts inside each side of the bag. These "pockets" are made from the same fabric as the exterior, giving a pop of contrast on the interior.

The lining is interfaced to give some shape and stability.

My first canvas mini duffel was for a craft swap on Craftster. I enjoyed making it so much, I made another. This time I painted a Tree of Life. I love these images and had loads of fun making this one. Fabric "petals" and tiny sequence were added to the branches for some color & pop.

This canvas bag fits nicely over the shoulder and under your arm. The strap is nylon and honeycomb stitched on for durability. It is unlined and without pockets. It could make a good quick grab bag for the gym or even to carry around some of your own craft goodies.

Never heard of a Banglet? Me neither. I made it up. I thought calling it a wristlet was not quite right since it has a bracelet on the strap. This bracelet is also quite handy when you want to be "hands free".

This pale lime green wristlet has a square wooden bracelet attached to the knotted wrist strap...making this bag a "banglet" (bangle bracelet + wristlet = banglet). It is a rather small bracelet, so you may not be able to actually fir it over your wrist, but it makes a great hand hold.

I used the exterior lime green outdoor canvas twill fabric as an applique on the one side. It is stitched on with a similar green embroidery thread. The blob shapes remind me of amoebas.

The inside is a teal, brown and olive patina striped cotton. The bag is not interfaced, but the exterior fabric is quite sturdy all by itself, so the shape should hold up pretty well.

My Anna backpack fits low on the back and is soft sided for a more casual look than a traditional backpack. It is smaller too, yet large enough to toss in a book with your usual purse contents. The flaps have a weighted doodad to help hold it over the drawstring opening. Each pack is fully lined. The straps are nylon and non-adjustable, keeping with the casual feel. Like all my bags, each one is one-of-a-kind.

The pack shown here is made from Braemore's canvas Fireworks print collection in Jelly Bean. The print consists of burst designs in bright pink, red and burnt orange on a white background.
It is lined with a solid bright pink cotton. This fabric also makes up the drawstring's casing.
Weighting the flap is a metal pewter pendant with a keyhole at the center.
The polypropylene webbing straps are khaki with a loop at the top.
The drawstring is a pink leather lacing with a cord lock.

approximate sizing:
10 " top to bottom
9" side to side (widest portion of the oval bottom)
5 1/2" front to back depth
28" straps (each)
flap: 6" wide by 9" long

Given the material, it could be washed in a cool gentle cycle, but because of the pendant/decoration it may be best to hand wash or at least wash in a lingerie bag.

The main fabric is an orange and fuchsia canvas abstract print and can also be found on the underside of the flap. The coordinating zip pouch is also made with this fabric.

The flap and straps are both made from a blush pink ultrasuede.

Decorating the flap is hand embroidery designed to mimic the bag's abstract print.

It is fully lined with Tina Given's Huckleberry cotton print in raspberry from the Treetop Fancy collection.

The bottom of the bag is seamless so there will be less stress from the things you carry. The roomy interior is fully lined and comes with a coordinating zippered pouch.

This Venus handbag is one of my newer creations that plays with 3 different fabrics. The outside has a vintage cotton fruity floral print on an orange background, paired with a solid blue canvas. The fruity florals are blue, green, white and purple The 3rd fabric is the lining, which is another vintage floral print. This small floral print is rows of yellow and orange blossoms on a white background.

The lining is quilted with the interfacing giving it some softness and stability. There are no pockets inside this bag.

The handle on this Venus bag differs from the others by using a twisted rope that runs between the main fabric and the lining creating 2 loops.

The closure is a magnetic snap placed inside.

Inspiration / Story behind this Product:
I wanted to make a bag that was a decent size, has easy access and was hand held. This is what I came up with. The first one I made was not split into different fabrics on the outside. That idea happened when I could not decide between 2 fabrics and realized I did not have enough of either, but they went together..so - poof! I used them both. The tabs for the handles have been attached various ways depending on the fabric type. The one thing that is the same for all, the tabs overlap the outside and have a decorative button attached. And the name - my son wanted it to be called "The Alien" because when it is opened, it looks like the pod from the movies. But I went with Venus...more like the venus flower trap - less creepy.

This Venus handbag is one of my creations that plays with 3 different fabrics. The outside has a solid fuchsia, paired with a fuchsia, burgundy and white floral on a black background poplin fabric. The 3rd fabric is the lining, a solid burgundy cotton.

The lining is quilted with the interfacing giving it some softness and stability. There are no pockets inside this bag.

Tabs with matte black buttons are used to attach the circular brown tortoise acrylic handles.

The closure is a magnetic snap placed inside at the center tabs.

This large Taffy bag can easily be used as a diaper bag or tote while still looking like a purse. It is a large version of my Rachelle purse.

The fabric is a home decorating fabric with a smooth sheen to it and a green floral print called "Clifton".
The strap and flap are a sage green ultrasuede. The flap is decorated with green embroidery and buttons as blooms. The flap has a magnetic snap attaching to the front exterior. The strap attaches to the side tabs with metal O rings. There is also a zipper closure, so the flap does not have to snap shut for those times you really stuff the bag to the max.

The lining is a solid green sage cotton broadcloth. There is a zippered pocket on the back wall and an open pocket at the front. The lining is interfaced for some stability.

The strap is a cranberry colored drapery cord. It is one loop that is held at the sides under a pocket of sorts inside each side of the bag. These "pockets" are made from the same fabric as the exterior, giving a pop of contrast on the interior.

The main fabric is a sand colored home deco fabric by Christopher Lowell called "Desert Wave" and can also be found on the underside of the flap. The flap and straps are both made from a tan pleather with an ostrich type print texture. The underside of the strap is a tan ultrasuede - which will slip less than the pleather.
There are freeform pintucks decorating the strap and flap.
The bottom of the bag is seamless so there will be less stress from the things you carry. The roomy interior is fully lined with a yellow-gold circle print cotton with 1 zippered and 1 open pocket on the walls.

Ziplet - Felt Autumn Leaves on Patchwork

What's a ziplet you ask? Well, it's simply a larger zip pouch with a looped strap that can be used as a handle. I suppose a small clutch with a tiny side strap is another way to describe it. Either way - it's a great size for both a cosmetic or goodie bag and small handbag.

This autumn themed ziplet is made with a patchwork of different colored canvas - brown, tan, green, khaki & beige stripes and butter yellow. It is fully lined with Liz Claiborne's Espadrille Aubergine Stripe home decorating fabric.
The decoration on the outside is a felt applique of 3 different colored leaves - green, red and golden yellow. There is a facing of olive fabric on both the outside and inside.
The loop side strap is made from the brown and yellow canvases.

Need to go out and slay a few vampires? This bag is perfect for you! Hand embroidered with the "B" and Mr. Pointy from Buffy the Vampire slayer and placed on my handmade red canvas messenger bag. The bag is fully lined with red pre-quilted cotton and the flap closes with a plastic clasp and D-ring.

This pleated clutch is handmade from my design.
The exterior and inside facing is a cotton fabric by Alexander Henry called Jewel Mobile in chocolate . It is lined with an ivory color silk twill..
It closes with a magnetic snap and is pocketless.
Interfacing was used on both the lining & main fabric to help give it some shape...and resulting in a fun "puffy" look.

Wristlet with Bracelet in Bold Stripes

This striped wristlet has a round wooden bracelet attached to the wrist strap...making this bag a "banglet" (bangle bracelet + wristlet = banglet). It is a rather small bracelet, so you may not be able to actually fit it over your wrist, but it makes a great hand hold.

The exterior is a home decorating canvas type fabric. It is boldly striped with varying widths of green, red, tan, blue & mustard. A double stack of buttons, one wood & one olive, decorate the bag.
The inside is a cotton fabric by Michelle Bensko called Birds, Dogwood in Natural...which is a bird and branch print on a white background.
The bag is not interfaced, but the exterior fabric is quite sturdy all by itself, so the shape should hold up pretty well.

This fun bag can hold all your essentials. I carry mine around when I go out and only need my wallet, keys, cell, and notepad. The ribbon is decorated with a crescent shaped stone. Only one was made with this exact fabric combination. It is made from a green cotton poly blend and is fully lined with a light green swirly print cotton. The loop straps are the same green fabric covering polar fleece, which gives them a nice soft feel. This bag closes with a magnetic snap to give quick access to what’s inside.

This tiny silky leopard print Ann bag is my own design and is perfect for carrying the essentials (cell, ID, lipstick...). The oversized handle gives it a unique and interesting aesthetic.

The handles are tubular brown bronzish marbled acrylic ring. The front has bronze silky fabric twisted around and through a cream shell like ring.

This bag closes with a magnetic snap and has no inside pockets. The lining is brown broadcloth with zero pockets.

My Anna backpack fits low on the back and is soft sided for a more casual look than a traditional backpack. It is smaller too, yet large enough to toss in a book with your usual purse contents. The flaps have a weighted doodad to help hold it over the drawstring opening. Each pack is fully lined. The straps are nylon and non-adjustable, keeping with the casual feel. Like all my bags, each one is one-of-a-kind.

I named them after my niece, Anna. The first 4 packs I made were for her birthday party - each guest got one. They are about 8 years old, so I lengthened the straps for these listings.

The pack shown here is made from a canvas fabric by Premier Prints called Kaleidoscope in Tabasco.
It is lined with a khaki and beige striped cotton. This fabric also makes up the drawstring's casing.
Weighting the flap is a coppery orange colored circle shell pendant.
The polypropylene webbing straps are khaki with a loop at the top.
The drawstring is a brown leather lace with a cord lock.

This mid sized handbag fits great on both your arm or in your hands.
The fabric is a fun skull and crossbones print on a pink cotton background. The sketchy skulls are pink and olive, plus are some square X frames and pink , olive & mint splatters.
The lining is a pale grey cotton broadcloth. The closure is a magnetic snap. There are no interior pockets.
The straps are made the same skull fabric and stuffed with polar fleece to make them soft to grip.
There is 1 1/2" wide chrome green grosgrain ribbon sewn around the bag's exterior. There are 2 clay pendants on the bow. One is a skull and the other is a red circle with the word "Vida" etched in. The pieces were part of a pay-it-forward package I was a part of earlier in the year. This bag had their name on it.

The lining is interfaced to give some shape and stability.

This Venus handbag is one of my creations that plays with 3 different fabrics. The outside pairs a solid cherry red poplin with a pink, red and white floral print on a black background.The 3rd fabric is the lining, a solid grey cotton.

The lining is quilted with the interfacing giving it some softness and stability. There are no pockets inside this bag.

Tabs are used to attach the black acrylic handles.

The closure is a magnetic snap placed inside at the center tabs.

story behind:
I wanted to make a bag that was a decent size, has easy access and was hand held. This is what I came up with. The first one I made was not split into different fabrics on the outside. That idea happened when I could not decide between 2 fabrics and realized I did not have enough of either, but they went together..so - poof! I used them both. The tabs for the handles have been attached various ways depending on the fabric type. The one thing that is the same for all, the tabs overlap the outside and have a decorative button attached. And the name - my son wanted it to be called "The Alien" because when it is opened, it looks like the pod from the movies. But I went with Venus...more like the venus flower trap - less creepy.

These little zippered pouches are good for the little things in your purse or even just loose change.

All of these pouches are cut from coordinating purses and their linings – I like to use all that I can from fabrics.

This particular pouch is made from a bold yellow and blur striped home decorating canvas type fabric. It is lined with a cornflower blue peony print cotton.
There is a small loop of fabric at the side of the pouch up near the zipper.

This is not interfaced and therefore should wash up well.

Ziplet - Felt Autumn Leaves on Patchwork

What's a ziplet you ask? Well, it's simply a larger zip pouch with a looped strap that can be used as a handle. I suppose a small clutch with a tiny side strap is another way to describe it. Either way - it's a great size for both a cosmetic or goodie bag and small handbag.

This autumn themed ziplet is made with a patchwork of different colored canvas - brown, tan, green, khaki & beige stripes and butter yellow. It is fully lined with Liz Claiborne's Aubergine Stripe home decorating fabric.
The decoration on the outside is a felt applique of 3 different colored leaves - green, golden yellow and red. There is a facing of olive fabric on both the outside and inside.
The loop side strap is made from the brown and butter yellow canvases.

Zombie Worker Denim Messenger Bag, Hand Embroidered

Do you feel like a zombie heading out to work? Then this bag is for you. This Urban Threads Zombie design was hand embroidered onto a blue denim to make this messenger bag.

Being a zombie, the denim is "patched" in the back to match the zombie's attire...which got a little ragged chasing after brains...I mean money.

The bag is fully lined with a blue pre-quilted cotton. The flap can be closed with the plastic clasp and D-ring. There is a 2 section pocket on the front under the flap that closes with velcro.
The forest green nylon strap wraps all the way around and under the bag for extra support. It is adjustable using a plastic slider.

This autumn themed ziplet is made with a patchwork of different colored canvas - brown, tan, green, khaki & beige stripes and butter yellow. It is fully lined with Liz Claiborne's Aubergine Stripe home decorating fabric.
The decoration on the outside is a felt applique of 3 different colored leaves - red, golden yellow and green. There is a strip of olive fabric on both the outside and inside.
The loop side strap is made from the brown and green canvases.

I recommend hand washing due to the felt appliques.

Clutch in Robert Kaufman Black Bad to the Bone

This pleated Becki clutch is handmade and one-of-a-kind.
This bag is the same design as my Mollie clutch only larger.

The exterior and inside facing is Robert Kaufman's Bad to the Bone cotton fabric in black. It is a print of sketchy white and red skulls and crossbones on black. There are also stitched looking squares with X's in red and white with splatters in grey and white.
It is lined with a solid grey cotton fabric.
It closes with a magnetic snap and has no pockets.

9 1/2 inches top to bottom
11 3/4 inches at it's widest

Interfacing was used on the lining to help give it some shape.

This handbag is a simple oval shape with cut out handles. I am selling it as an "oops" bag due to an imperfection on the inside handle area.

The main fabric is a pink kitty print by Robert Kaufman. Inside is a simple grey pinstriped cotton. There are no pockets or closures other than the handles.

Overlapping the cut out handle portion is a solid pink flannel. This is where the "oops" comes in...the stitching is not as neat & even as I would like, but only shows on the inside...thus the discount price. Outlining the cut out handles is a braid of the grey cotton and a solid pink cotton.

Large Purse in Rusty Red with Felt Flowers

I designed this larger sized Rachelle purse to hold a little bit of everything. It has a decorated flap to add a little oomph to it visually.

The main fabric is a think textured home decorating fabric in a rusty red color. The flap and straps are both made from a tan ultrasuede. A leafy print cotton in greens and reds in on the underside of the flap. The flap shuts over the bag with a magnetic snap.

Decorating the flap and strap tabs are felt flowers.
The bottom of the bag is seamless so there will be less stress from the things you carry. The roomy interior is fully lined with solid green cotton. There is one zippered interior pocket.

22” strap attached with D rings and metal clasps

This bag is large and open for extra stuffability. Okay, so that's not a word, but it describes it well. I was able to fit two beach towels plus a change of clothes in my bag. I have also used it to cart around the craft and art stuff I work on during shows...which is a lot.

I paired the FUNdamentals pink squares cotton print with solid yellow cotton side and center panels. The front center panel is hand painted by me to mimic the squares of the print. There are pleats at the top of the bag on both sides.

Inside there are 2 pockets, one of each fabric. Both pockets are open. The solid yellow is divided into 4 sections. note: the solid yellow pocket does overlap the pleats, giving those sections a little more of a closed pocket feel while keeping the easy access of an open pocket.

The straps are two sided and have twill tape sandwiched between. This give the straps more heft.

The khaki lining is interfaced and at the bottom there is extra thick interface quilted on for added support.

These little zippered pouches are good for the little things in your purse or even just loose change.

All of these pouches are cut from coordinating purses and their linings – I like to use all that I can from fabrics.

This particular pouch is made from a home decorating cotton canvas print called Paris Paisley in Sage, Rose and Brown.It is lined with a melon colored ultrasuede (the actual name is Papaya).

This is not interfaced and therefore should wash up well.

This roomy bag can hold more than your everyday basics. I made this bag before I began designing my own. It was based on the Simplicity 3828. The bag is made from an ivory satin with a sheer polka dot overlay and ultrasuede corner, bottom and binding. The polka dots fabric is sprinkled with subtle silvery sparkles. The back side has no overlay on the ivory satin. It closes with a magnetic snap. The lining is a navy taffeta with back wall zippered pocket and open front wall pocket.
