i am sooooo ready for spring. ready for my spring flowers to bloom, but not yet, it's been too cold still and they are growing really slow. i finally broke down and purchased some of these beautiful siberian iris's. i must have looked at this little bloom from so many angles, wanted to take a different approach. as usual, my brain was amusing myself and i thought i wonder what an ant sees when it looks up?

any day now this pear is going to be too far gone to eat. seriously, i can barely pick it up now without smooshing it. do you know what i mean? i had every intention of eating this nice healthy fresh pear but never got around to it. now look at the poor thing, it's now or never. unfortunately, i let it go to far and never ate it. :(

i like to have fun and create clever still lifes. i loved the way this cherries naturally fell into position, looked like they were racing each other, question is, who's the winner? i guess it depends on if you are one to run towards or away from something. this is #3 of 3 cherry paintings.

i LOVE garlic, i do, fresh, sauteed in olive oil, in every dish i make. yum. i've painted garlic in the past in oils but this one is my favorite. i feel watercolors really represent the papery skins so well. i love witty or funny titles too, and i just couldn't resist on this one!

these little guys echo through our woods most years. it depends on the brood. this year was a particularly strong one, they were so loud you couldn't stand being outside. but nothing like the big 17 year brood that was out a few years ago. that was insane. if you've never stood near a cicada, they are deafening. harmless little guys though. found this guy in my back yard.
