This scarf is made with the thoughts of sunset. I have used a tissue silk fabric (which is a very fine georgette silk), superfine merino fibres and also strips of mohair lace and also cotton crochet lace! And on top I have embellished the scarf with tussah silk fibres to add some interest to the scarf.The scarf you see here is the one you will receive.

The scarf is incredibly warm, soft and light and drape wonderfully and that is the nature of nunofelting. Nuno felting is a technique invented by Polly Stirling in New South Wales, Australia. She wanted to be able to create lightweight felts. The term nuno means ‘ woven fabric ‘ in Japanese, so nuno felt is literally felt on a woven fabric.

The measurement of this scarf or shawl is 167.5cm by 45.5cm ( apprx 66” x 18").

Inspired by FRY'S Turkish Delight Bar. It is a turkish delight sweet covered with milk chocolate, commonly found in milk bars in Victoria. I thought instead of indulging in one of my favourite sweets, I could indulge in wearing one!

The cape is made with layering technique where I would layer chocolate brown polwarth wool fibres with pieces of metallic creamy coloured lace, the softest pink alpaca fleece, pale pink mohair yarn and then embellished over with tussah silk fibres! This cape is a saga of complexity in itself..creating a luxuriously warm and oh so soft texture for wearing over one's shoulders. You could wear this over and over again , creating different looks as the cape changes as it turns from side to side or inside out or wearing it in different ways.

Background info:Polwarth wool is from Australia's first breed of sheep and developed in 1880 and I enjoy using it due to its fine (24microns) and fluffy nature. Alpaca fleece is a lustrous and silky natural fiber. While similar to sheep’s wool in that it is a natural fiber, it is warmer, not prickly. It is also soft and luxurious.

Inspired by the colours of stained lead glass windows in the old churches in Europe.I found them very intriguing..

This handmade scarf is a felted collage of teal and chocolate superfine merino wool, white mulberry silk fibres and strips of recycled tie-dyed habutai silk scarf pieces in colours of peach,yellow,blues and greens. I just love habutai silk when it felts, it wrinkles up just like the skin of a passionfruit.
Indeed this is an amazingly vibrant scarf which looks so sophisticated on... Perfect for the cold weather and so light and luxurious to touch!

The measurements for this scarf is apprx 144cm (57 ") by 37cm (15").Please note that the flower brooch is not inclusive.

Inspired by colours of the french flag. I love the colours red white and blue together..J'adore!

I would describe this scarf like a dream that came true.

Lots of white creamy cashmere (sourced from cashmere goats at Bacchus Marsh in Victoria, Australia) felted with white mulberry AAA silk fibres and the most gorgeous fiery red silk hankie torn in pieces.

Cashmere is the most luxurious fibre I have ever worked with ,being 17 microns and so soft strong,warm and light..and it has the most amazing sheen and life to it.

I also handdyed the blue and white paj(habutai) silk scarf myself in a shibori technique separately.It has a very organic feel to it with raw edges.It makes a statement itself and can be worn separately.

This listing is for 2 scarves in one! You can wear either one or both! 8)

The measurements for the blue and white paj silk scarf is 160cm ( 25") by 30cm ( 12").

Spring onion and chives.. Both my favourite ingredients for making a spring salad and voila, here's a scarf inspired by vegies! Definitely one for the green lover.

This scarf is made with lots of creamy cashmere wool as a base, then felted to different green shades of cotton blend yarn and green silk flock which adds texture. On the fringes of the scarf, I have also added some merino silk blend fibres of greens.

Twilight - Nunofelt armwarmers by Arc En Ciel creations

Inspired by Twilight.I am getting addicted to this vampire romance novel, just can't stop reading..I think it brings out the dark side of me.

The armwarmers are handfelted and the materials used are black superfine merino wool fibres on the outside and some greyish black merino silk blend fibres on the inside. Also I have felted some whitish beige silvery metallic lace to the outside of the armwarmers..which form bubbling effect when felted on the black merino wool.These will be one-offs.

These armwarmers are just slightly stretchy and are a great alternative to gloves, and will sure keep your arms warm.You can also invert them for a more downtoned look with just greys and blacks.

All my wool fibres are sourced locally in Australia.

Measurements of armwarmers when they are flat:Length 30cm (12") by width 10-12cm (4-5").

This unusual scarf is a trap in autumn. Once you start wearing it, you will feel like you are entrapped in autumn leaves falling around you...

I made this scarf first by plaiting the wool fibres together ,then felted in a lattice style with other strands of fibres.This technique is unique to Arc En Ciel and it was inspired by my recent trip to Cambodia where I saw weavers working on a loom. The wool fibres I have used are Superfine merino fibre (17 microns) and also handdyed Finn wool( dyed with Eucalyptus), all sourced from Victoria in Australia. For your information,finn wool has the luster (shine) otherwise found only in the long-wooled breeds and it is also softer to the touch.

This scarf has colours of mainly of beige-brown,orange-brown,dark brown,red,green and tiniest hint of some purple-blue... a warm colourful scarf perfect to warm your heart from the autumn season into winter season. Also in my other photos, I have shown that this scarf is extremely versatile,combining it with other silk scarves that I have, to create different looks.This listing is only for the lattice scarf.

The measurements for this scarf is apprx 200 cm (79 ") by 35 cm (18").

Flowers in Snowfall is a rather unusual scene but I can imagine it happening on my scarf. This is a true artist's scarf exhibited at the Mt Waverly Quilt and Textile Arts exhibition!Worn as a scarf or a shawl ,it is reversible and is very light,soft and drapes beautifully.

I have felted a single layer of polwarth wool to a layer of white silk lap, and trapped red superfine merino silk blends and green silk knepps under the white silk lap.The red bounces off the green beautifully and the silk lap felts into a scribbly pattern.The high amount of silk in this scarf also gives the scarf a nice sheen.

For some history,Polwarth wool is from Australia's first breed of sheep and developed in 1880 and I enjoy using it due to its fine (24microns) and fluffy nature.I source the best Polwarth wool from the breeders directly.

The measurements for this scarf is apprx 143cm (56 ") by 50cm (20").

Le Jade - A nunofelt habutai scarf by Arc En Ciel creations

Inspired by the colours of Jade.

First I nunofelted different shades of green merino silk fibres to a golden habutai silk. Habutai silk is more difficult to felt to but when felted, it crinkles up into a gorgeous passionfruit pattern. Then I hand dyed the whole piece in a blue natural dye.The good thing about using natural dye is that it doesn't irritate the skin and when it fades, different colours show up on the scarf so you have an ever changing scarf!

This bag is a beginning to my black and white range of scarves and bags.8)

It is made by a technique called Nunofelting. Basically white Polwarth Wool is felted onto butter cotton Muslin as a base, then embellished with Black Mohair yarn as well as grey wool yarn. The bag is extremely strong and will carry books without problems, and can be folded away like a cloth bag.

Measurements: Width 46.5cm / 18" (widest part of bag) by height 32cm / 12.5"

What an indulgence! This pure felt scarf/shawl is inspired by chocolate and made in my unique graffiti style. The scarf has dark chocolate brown polwarth wool as a base,then embellished with lots of copper bronze metallic and chilli red wool yarns to form the graffiti, white superfine merino fibres forming circles, as well as lots and a little soft green coloured superfine merino fibres underneath. Inspired by blue slate.
This handfelted cobweb scarf is made with a technique of wetfelting slate grey merino wool fibres with white silk lap and also embellished with a generous dash of blue tussah silk fibres. To complete this scarf,I have done some beading work along the edges of the scarf with many different beads.
The result is an extremely soft and light scarf with great drapability which is also reversible. Suitable for autumn through to winter.

Inspired by a child's scribbling.

The cobweb felt scarf / shawl is handfelted by a technique called wetfelting.A layer of white silk lap is felted to a fine layer of white polwarth wool and layered with strands of multicoloured tussah silk and merino silk blends in a random fashion.The result is a mixture of subtle colours on a white background. The tussah silk fibres form a wavy pattern when felted.

Polwarth wool is from Australia's first breed of sheep and developed in 1880 and I enjoy using it due to its fine (24microns) and fluffy nature.
