All silvertone metal except the fish which is sterling silver... The catches work well on all but the long oval latticework/rhinestone brooch... There is a lighter patch on the metal of the silvertone brooch with silvertone floral surround, and three rhinestones missing from the vintage wavy looking brooch - all others in good condition.

Sterling silver fish brooch is 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" at the widest points. There is writing on the back which I'm sorry I cannot make out (not even with a magnifying glass) but I will keep trying and let you know if I work it out

Long rhinestone brooch is 3" x 3/4" at the widest point; long brooch with rhinestone flower pattern2 1/2"x 1/3"

All sorts of weird and wonderful bits n pieces, some vintage, some new..some metal, some plastic..

The black cabs have cameos on them, look like plastic but feel like metal - the smallest are 3/4"x 1/2", the larger 1"x 3/4"

Vintage silvertone/red glass dangle 1 1/3" long; silvertone key slightly shorter

Vintage Mickey Mouse "V" thing 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" at the widest point - has Disney copyright mark and Taiwan stamped on the reverse

Yellow flower is plastic - 1 1/2" in diameter; round metal lily leaf findings also 1 1/2" diameter; metal peace signs 2" diameter; silvertone/coloured metal flower finding/pendant 2" diameter

Goldtone metal dangles with orange faux gems are just over 2" in length including ring.

Black chain seems to be made of the same stuff as the cameo cabs, 28" in length

Silvertone Cleopatra pendant is 2 1/2" x 1 1/2", the chain 23" long.

When I am on the hunt for something, I tend to go overboard and buy every one of whatever it is I see...

..in this case it was dress clips and I was over visiting family in New Zealand at the time. My poor brother had to stop at every market and op shop between Auckland and Christchurch so I could indulge my need for dress clips..

..as a result of course I now have far too many, so here are 6 in various shapes and sizes - the largest is 2" x 1 3/4", the longest 2 1/2" x 3/4" at the widest part, and the smallest 1 1/4" x 1/2". Three have all rhinestones present, and three have rhinestones missing...All the clips are in good working order.

Four pairs of earrings, 3 clip ons and 1 screw-type, all in good vintage condition. Use for repurpose or wear them..

The multi-coloured flower earrings feel like plastic, but the others are all metal with glass stones.

The largest are the fabulous sparkly "pineapple" shape pair at 1 1/2" long and an inch across from the edge of one purple "leaf" to the other.

The green/purple/pink in goldtone setting are 1/2" wide at the widest point, and 1 1/4" in length.

The flower earrings, both types, about an inch in diameter.

Two shocking pink and three gold buckles. I'm not really sure of the ages of these but they look like pre and post hippie era to me, mid 60s or disco.

The shocking pink buckles are metal, with hard plastic black faux gems - 2 3/4" x just under 2 1/2" at the widest points.

The soft gold buckles have a silver metal back and a soft padded-feel faux leather front. They measure 2" x 1 1/3" and have "ASTOR" printed on the back.

A Tale of Two Brooches - Purple

..the first brooch a very old pin, rather the worse for wear..the other a recent etsy purchase.

I love purple, especially the deep purple in this necklace. The little old brooch I have wanted to use for ages but was unwilling to let go.. then I found an identical replacement (thank you missgaylee.etsy.com).

The huge filigree art nouveau oval brooch also has a purple stone mid-centre, and the colour is continued in the amethyst rhinestone drops which I have attached.

Vintage brass chains complete this necklace..total length, 34"...small brooch, 1 1/4" x 3/4"..large brooch, 3" x 2".

A beautiful floral brass (I think it's brass) piece is the focal point of this necklace..attached with matching chain to a shower of gold-threaded plastic beads..and with one large teardrop raindrop and tiny flowers below.

Golden Crystal Vision Necklace

A rich golden brass bookchain and vintage crystal teardrops make up this stunning necklace...The chandelier crystals are attached using their original brass findings, and the necklace measures 19" in length. The longest crystal drop is 3 1/2".

Huge Brass Key

I bought a bulk lot of vintage keys from a retired locksmith, and this enormous key was part of the 'lot'... It always makes me think of "Alice in Wonderland" and I can only imagine what sort of door it unlocked.

Made of brass, this beautiful key measures 9 1/2" in length, and is 3" across at the widest part. There are a couple of "fleabites" which are visible in the second photo, top left, inside rim.

I haven't buffed it up, but I am sure it would shine beautifully.

Fabric and ribbon flowers, mostly roses, from my destash cupboard. I use flowers a lot on my bags but these are superfluous to my needs.

Basically what you see is what you get, as well as any more I find in the meantime :-)

The little ribbon roses are about an inch wide including the leaves..the largest flowers are also ribbon roses, in lilac & green and are 2 1/2" wide.

Most of these are commercially made but there are a few handcrafted flowers in the bunch.

Miniature mirror, vintage but I'm unsure of exact age - lots of goldtone and bling... There is slight discoloration of the metal and discoloration also on the glass. Both show up in the photos...Mirror length is 4", and the mirror glass diameter is 2".

Next is a vintage perfume bottle, also goldtone metal over glass and complete with funnel. Bottle stands just 1 3/4" tall and is 1 1/2" across the base..The plastic box is a bit battered.

An old burgundy purse revamped with vintage lace, hydrangea petals and brass..

The lace is very old, from Brussels, and is featured on both the back and front of this lovely old velvet & satin trim purse. I've added velvet ribbon, vintage buttons, brass chain & rhinestone tassels, and velvet/organdy hydrangea petals.

The purse measures 7.5" x 6" x 2". The cord handle is 47" long.

Autumn Vintage Velvet and Lace Bag

Featuring the reds and golds of my favourite season, this is a OOAK 'vintage velvet & lace' original bag.

Made from vintage velvet and lace, I added the fabulous gold/red beaded trim and then just kept finding more things to sew on - vintage beads, buttons, hatpin, bling, flowers.

This bag is fully lined with three pockets inside for keys, phone etc, and closes with a zipper (complete with vintage brass bell).

Measurements are 18.5" x 25", and the handle is 36" long.

Part of my vintage stash, this is a comb made in Germany which folds away..There are some marks on the comb itself, which I haven't attempted to clean, but the case is in good vintage condition..This is made from some type of plastic and is 3.5" long when closed, 6.5" open.

A 'vintage velvet & lace' original, made by me. All of the embellishments are hand sewn.

There are vintage faux pearls, vintage flowers (ribbon, paper and velvet), faux pearl applique from a vintage collar, vintage lace collar and a beautiful little vintage mother of pearl bird.

The bag is fully lined in a heavy black cotton fabric, and there are two plain pockets in the lining for keys, mobile phone etc.

Measurements are : 13 1/2"(L) 16 1/2"(W). The strap measures 36".

The velvet I use to make my bags has all had a previous life so there may be subtle variations in the fabric.

A vintage black velvet purse, embellished by me with vintage braid, black lace and red ribbon roses.

The centre strip is from a vintage cuff, and features alternating faux pearls and rhinestones..the brass dangles are from an old bracelet I bought over 35 years ago (and it was vintage then).

The chain handle is 23" long and the purse measures 7 1/2" wide x 8 1/2" high and 3" deep.

Two very different vintage bird brooches...The first is a goldtone Avon owl, which I think may have had perfume in it at one stage - it opens up...the other brooch is a beautiful peacock with different coloured sparkling rhinestones, all intact.
Both brooches have safety catches, and each in good working order. The owl is 1 3/4" long, and the peacock 1 1/2" wide.

Five flower brooches, all different and all in good working order... Three I know are vintage, but not sure about either the green 'cameo' or the little dried flower brooch... The main parts of the green cameo and the pink posy brooch are both made from some kind of plastic.. the violet and blue roses are porcelain, and the little dried flower brooch has a filigree silvertone setting.

I really have no idea what exactly these are made of... They are fairly solid, and have faceted glass set in a bright gold metal drop. There are 20 dangles and they measure three quarters of an inch in length, including the top loop.

These are sweet little lace daisies. Each has a rhinestone centre, and there are two sizes - the largest are almost an inch in diameter, and the tiny daisies are half an inch in diameter.
I have 6 of the larger daisies and 12 of the little ones.
