This creative capture was taken using my converted infra red camera and then converted to black & white - everytime my wife looks at it she tells me it reminds her of a scene in Wizard of Oz (the black and white version!!).

Infra Red photography equipment turns all vegitation white. Water and sky are given a dark moody feel.

These pens are of the highest quality and contain tungsten carbide swiss ball refills which can be easily replaced once empty.

They have been expertly finished using professional finishing oil which emphasise the unique grain pattern in the wood.

Any props used in the pictures are purely to give a sense of scale.

The pictures I take of these items do not do them justice; they look far far superior in real life.

TITLE: Falkirk Wheel
SIZE: 9x6

DESCRIPTION:
The Falkirk Wheel is named after the nearby town of Falkirk in Central Scotland. It is a rotating boat lift connecting the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal. The difference in the levels of the two canals at the wheel is 24 meters (79 ft), roughly equivalent to the height of an eight storey building. This is a true feat of modern engineering!

Birch Bowl

SIZE: approx 9.5 inches diameter, 6 inches high

DESCRIPTION:
This lovely birch wooden bowl originated from a felled tree in Cumbernauld Glen, Cumbernauld, Scotland.
Birch is quite a light coloured wood but is very hard and can have some stunning ribbon markings as can be seen on the front of this bowl. This bowl has been rough turned and dryed for over a year to ensure it remains stable and will not split or warp.

It has been expertly finished using professional finishing oil which emphasise the unique grain pattern in the wood.

Any props used in the pictures are purely to give a sense of scale.

The pictures I take of these items do not do them justice; they look far far superior in real life.

I believe the quality of these turnings is so high that If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase then I have no problem taking them back and refunding your payment. Please see my profile for further info.

Large Spalted Beech Bowl

ORIGIN: North Lanarkshire
SIZE: approx 14 inches diameter

DESCRIPTION:
This beautiful spalted beech bowl orginated from a felled tree near Cumbernauld, it is highly figured and would make a stunning fruit bowl.
This bowl has been around 4 years in the making as the original tree was cut down by he council during the autumn of 2005. The basic process is to let it lie for a year or two and then rough turn some bowls before drying for another year or so. At this point the wood should be very colourful, perfectly dry and ready to complete the finished article.

It has been expertly finished using professional finishing oil which emphasise the unique grain pattern in the wood.

Any props used in the pictures are purely to give a sense of scale.

The pictures I take of these items do not do them justice; they look far far superior in real life.

Ash Champagne Bottle and Tray

DESCRIPTION:
This unique ash bottle was originally part of a piece I made for an exhibition at a gallery in Clackmannanshire. The set also consisted of two ash champagne flutes but these were damaged and are not included. The tray has a small split as can be seen in one of the photos but is free if the buyer of the bottle wants it.
The ash wood used for the bottle originated from scotland and the design was based on a Moet champagne bottle the contents of which were long gone.

They have been expertly finished using professional finishing oil which emphasise the unique grain pattern in the wood.

Any props used in the pictures are purely to give a sense of scale.

The pictures I take of these items do not do them justice; they look far far superior in real life.

Large Decorative Elm Platter from Scotland

SIZE: Approx 14 inches diameter

DESCRIPTION:
This large piece of Elm was turned into a platter and then many hours were spent crafting the design which adornes the top of the platter making this a truely unique item. Included with this item is the stand giving you the option to use it for purely decorative purposes, or alternatively you could use this as a funtional shallow bowl.

Props used in the pictures are purely to give a sense of scale.

The pictures i take of these items do not do them justice, they look far far superior in real life.

I believe the quality of these turnings is so high that If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase then i have no problem taking them back and refunding your payment. Please see my profile for further info.

Purple Heart and Elm Bowl with Lid

DESCRIPTION:
This lovely little lidded bowl is made from purple heart and elm. The bowl is purple heart and the lid is elm with a purple heart finial.

There is a light banding of colour across the side of the bowl which looks lovely with the lighter colored lid.

This could be used purely as decoration or an ideal place to store smaller items, especially the ones which keep getting lost.
