A piece that was inspired about watching Wong Kar Wai's film In The Mood For Love, set in 60s Hong Kong. A story about forbidden love and in the story, the female and male leads shared some special moments in room 2046 - writing martial novels :D The chinese title of this movie is Hua Yang Nian Hua. The Chinese title, Huayang Nianhua (translated in the subtitles as "Full Bloom" but more accurately meaning "those wonderful varied years"), is more suggestive of period nostalgia and the Shanghai association, pointing to an iridescent, kaleidoscopic age of bygone elegance and diversity.

The painting measures 16 by 11.8 inches, signed at the front and will be varnishd before delivery.

Will send the canvas without the wooden frame that's attached to the canvas. Will roll the canvas piece and put it in a secure cylinder-like container. A piece that was inspired about watching Wong Kar Wai's film In The Mood For Love, set in 60s Hong Kong. A story about forbidden love and in the story, the female and male leads shared some special moments in room 2046 - writing martial novels :D The chinese title of this movie is Hua Yang Nian Hua. The Chinese title, Huayang Nianhua (translated in the subtitles as "Full Bloom" but more accurately meaning "those wonderful varied years"), is more suggestive of period nostalgia and the Shanghai association, pointing to an iridescent, kaleidoscopic age of bygone elegance and diversity.

Was inspired to do this piece after watching the movie, "In The Mood For Love" by arthouse director, Wong Kar Wai. Set in the Hongkong 60s, it's a tale of forbidden love, full of regrets and secrets. This painting is my personal interpretation of the following lines from the movie. "In the old days, if someone had a secret they don't want to share what do they do? They went up a mountain, find a tree,carved a hole in it and whispered the secret into the hole. Then they covered it with mud. And leave the secret there forever."

Ophelia, puzzled by the radical transformation that had taken place overnight to this butterfly friend of hers, thought to herself, "She was in a white thread-like casing yesterday, how did all that happen so fast? There must be something magical about that case!" This is inspired by a book "Hope For The Flowers":http://www.daleanderson.ca/hopefortheflowers.htm by Trina Paulus. This is a cute and yet thought provoking story about two caterpillars who because they mistake the meaning of their urge to get high, get entangled climbing a horrible "caterpillar pillar". And for two caterpillars, we all know, surrendering to the cocoon is the only way to finally fly. Hope For the Flowers is a book that celebrates HOPE. My fave lines from the book is "How does one become a butterfly?" She asked pensively. "You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar." We are all meant to be as beautiful and free like the butterflies, that's our destiny...as we free ourselves to be who we really are...and together with our innate talents,we bring hope to the world around us, bringing change inevitably around us :D

Was inspired to do this piece after watching the movie, "In The Mood For Love" by arthouse director, Wong Kar Wai. Set in the Hongkong 60s, it's a tale of forbidden love, full of regrets and secrets. This painting is my personal interpretation of the following lines from the movie. "In the old days, if someone had a secret they don't want to share what do they do? They went up a mountain, find a tree,carved a hole in it and whispered the secret into the hole. Then they covered it with mud. And leave the secret there forever."

This painting measures 16 by 11.8 inches. Sides of canvas are staple-free and had been painted. Ready to be hung on wall.

Will send the canvas without the wooden frame that's attached to the canvas. Will roll the canvas piece and put it in a secure cylinder-like container. One day, Ophelia received a mysterious invitation to a faraway land called Blooming Blues, it was written in the card that a special treat had been prepared just for her and it was stated she had to arrive a minute before the clock struck midnight. This certainly appealed to her keen sense of adventure and that night Ophelia took flight to Blooming Blues. Lo and behold, shiny juicy looking blueberries bloomed in great numbers! A minute later, the clock struck midnight, something unbelievable happened. With a wink of an eye, those blueberries were transformed into blueberry cheesecakes before Ophelia! A table with a slice of cheesecake was laid before her, Ophelia (still bewildered) had to take time to regain her composure before feasting on the blueberry cheesecake.
