Shango is one of the African Orishas.

The Lucumi Yoruba believe in one Higher Power who's called Olodumare, and believe that each person has a Guardian Spirit called an "Orisha".

Orishas are aspects of the Supreme Being that are manifested as forces of nature.

He is a Sky Father, god of thunder and lightning and his symbol is the oshe (double-headed axe), which represents swift and balanced justice. He is owner of the Bata (set of 3 double-headed drums) and of music in general, as well as the Art of Dance and Entertainment.

This beautiful pendant depicts Shango with a double-headed axe headdress.

This pendant can also be made in tan and strung on a coordinating leather cord.

Ancient Taino petroglyphs have been found throughout the Greater Antilles and their exact meaning continue to be source of controversy.

This pendant depicts the Taino petroglyph commonly known as the Sol De Jayuya (Sun of Jayuya) because it was discovered in the town of Jayuya, Puerto Rico, and it's resemblance to the sun.

It is also known as the Sun Turtle, because it also resembles what a turtle looks like if you were to view it from directly above.

Made of polymer clay and strung on a 16" buna (rubber) cord with a silver toned toggle clasp.

This polymer clay barrile (barrel) drum pendant is fashioned after the drums used in Bomba, a traditional Afro Puerto Rican folk music style.

The pendant is 1/4" thick and is strung on a long black leather cord with unfinished ends that you can tie to your preferred length.

Each pendant is signed by me.

Hand sculpted of polymer clay, accented with silver foil leaf and glass bead accents, this set is a must for collectors!

Each figure stands approximately 11" high and is signed and dated by me.

Los Reyes Mago (The Three Kings)

There are many different theories and symbolism behind the three kings. One of which is that they were not kings but humble wise men skilled in astronomy. They were also referred to as the Magi, coming from the word Magician which had a much different connotation than it does today. Over time they evolved from humble wise men to kings. This may have been a way for the Church to symbolically illustrate the kings of men on earth recognizing and bowing down to Christ as king of all mankind.

There is no written record in the gospel of Matthew in the Bible, as to how many wise men there actually were, only a reference to the three different gifts they offered.

In Christianity, the number three is often used and is symbolic of the Holy Trinity.

In Three Kings lore, the number three also symbolizes the three races of mankind, European, Asian and African. They are also often depicted as an Arab, Asian, and African, and sometimes as three wise men from Persia.

The gifts they bore were also symbolic and of double meaning.

Melchior was from Arabia and was the smallest in stature. He brought gold as his offering. Gold is a symbol of kingship symbolizing virtue on earth and in heaven.
Balthazar was from the orient and brought frankincense as his offering. Frankincense was used as a perfume and was also a symbol of priest ship symbolizing prayer.

Gaspar, the third king, and traditionally the tallest of the Magi, was an African from Ethiopia. He was known as the “Master of the Treasure” and brought the gift of myrrh. Myrrh was commonly used as anointing oil in life, and embalming oil in death. It is a symbol celebrating life and also symbolizes death and suffering.

In Puerto Rico Los Reyes Mago are traditionally carved by santeros (saint carvers). This tradition came from the Jibaros (country folk) carving their own saints and religious figures for altars in their homes where they can worship because they were very far from the nearest town church. Santeros traditionally carve Los Reyes either standing or riding horses with Gaspar always placed in the center, a place of honor.

This pendant is designed after the Puerto Rican Nationalist Party flag, and is handcrafted without the use of molds.

It is, along with the Grito de Lares Flag, is a well known symbol of Puerto Rican nationalisim, and is synonymous
with Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos, who was elected president of the Party on On May 11, 1930.

Wear it as a source of national pride or support!

Not to mention it looks really cool with just about everything!

Bats were revered by the Taino indians. They were considered messengers of the underworld and a source for communicating with their ancestors.

They are a re-occuring motif found in Taino pottery, amulets, and duhos(ceremonial benches), to name a few.
