Brass Petal Earrings

I found a nice piece of brass and immediately thought of trying my hand at fashioning some earrings.
These cuties are the result.

Hand-hammered and shaped, a smaller brass petal is cradled within the larger. A green glass bead nestled in front adds to the nifty layered look.

What makes these doubly yummy is that brass mimics the warm look of gold without the expensive price (a win- win situation). These would be perfect for adding a bit of sparkle for holiday wear.

Largest petal is just under an inch in length.
The earrings fall about 1 1/2 inches.

The hand formed ear wires are made from sterling silver.

Mmmm...Pearls

These cuties are made from three white stacked freshwater pearls dangling on custom sterling ear wires with a fetching mini curl at the bottom to finish it off.

Each individual pearl is about 5mm each and the earrings measure a petite 2 centimeters long (about 3/4 inch) not counting the ear hooks, but stacked like this and with the complimentary shine of the sterling silver, they make a big statement.

There's just something about pearls. . .

What a great idea for a Christmas gift for yourself or someone special.

I found this quaint illustration of a courting couple from a vintage novel. I believe the nervous looking gentleman is asking for permission to "come a courting" this beautiful young lady. Judging by his expression, he does not look too certain of the outcome.

The size of the illustration measures 3 5/8 x 5 1/8 inches which is the same size as found in the book. It has been carefully scanned and cleaned.

Necklace- Dream Pendant

I love visiting little boutiques for all the fun and unusual goodies I find. The only catch is that I add another thing to my already long list of "I can do that's".

This is one of those.

This delightful little word necklace features my original illustration. It is very lightweight and would go great with jeans or casual wear.

Copper Swirlies

I made some cute copper swirls and begun hammering away. These fetching earrings are the result. The perfect thing to wear while you're swirling around the dance floor.

Since the copper is unvarnished, they will develop a warm patina over time, but if you like the shiny look just give it a polish every once in a while.

The swirls are about 1 3/8 inches long (not counting the ear wires. They are lightweight and extremely fun to wear.

I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed making them.

Copper Drops in White

I'm especially fond of these white glass drops wrapped in copper wire. These are the perfect thing to wear this holiday season. They add a bit of shine and sparkle without being overstated.

They turned out so yummy, it's hard to part with them.

The droplets are a milky white color although they seem to pick up some of the background colors in the photos. They are slightly faceted as well.

The warm color of the copper extremely inviting; and will develop a mellow darker patina over time.

The drops themselves (with the wrap) are only a little bit over 1/2 inch in length.

Ooooh...pretty.

Cute little wrapped drops dangle seductively from the copper ear wires. The black glass droplets are a nice contrast to the warmth of the copper.

The droplet and wrap is a little over 1/2 inch in length.

The drops are slightly faceted although it may not be clear in the photos. The black drops were being a bit mischievous and would not photograph as nicely as the white drops (see other listing).

Copper is so versatile! It is one of my favorites. The warm color is so beautiful; it is flexible to work with while still being strong enough to hold a design. The warm color mellows nicely over time; PLUS (and this is a good one) the affordability of copper makes it a wise budget choice.

Blue Polymer Clay Pendant

Tried a little experiment in polymer clay.

I took a bunch of different blues and other colors; threw in a teeny bit of gold leaf for good measure. You have to look closely to see the gold leaf; I didn’t realize it would disappear into nothingness once I chopped everything up and mixed it together.
The resulting pendant is an interesting concoction of hues wrapped snugly with copper wire.

The coils are on the back of the pendant for extra support. I thought I would mention it, since after creating this one, many of my friends are requesting a pendant with front coils.

The circle measures about 7/8 inch in diameter. The hook is about 3/8 inch.

It comes with an 18” black cord.
