Blandings Turtles are listed as threatened in a number of states as their wetland homes are becoming less numerous. Additionally, in breeding season, they travel quite a distance across land to nest and they fall prey to accidents and other mishaps.

I was inspired to do the original drawing when I had spotted this one on a hike in Illinois. The large original drawing is no longer available, but you can purchase this print. I love Lily of the Valley. The flowers are so delicate, the grow under horrible conditions, yet keep spreading and they smell terrific!

I did a drawing in stipple with black and white inks on a grey background. I then decided to offer it as a sweet little ACEO print. As always, it's printed on 2.5" x 3.5" art paper with archival ink. I sign and title each one and each is given it's own little protective sleeve.

Cicada ACEO Print

I think cicadas are fascinating...sure that sound they make is deafening. A number of years ago, my son and I collected a bunch that we brought indoorsand watched overnight as they emerged from their shell. At that point, they were a ethereal, transluscent day-glo kind of color. It was almost surreal. By morning, their wings and bodies had hardened and we let them go. No doubt, they promptly headed off to the nearby trees to sing.

In honor of that night, I did a drawing. The original is in silverpoint, with watercolor and gouache. Here is a print of the original as an ACEO. The image is printed on heavier 2.5" x 3.5" art paper. I'll be sure to sign the back for you before placing it in it's protective sleeve.

Copper Beech ACEO Art Print

There's copper beech tree that I am in love with at an arboretum that we frequent. This is that beech tree in the winter. The bark of the many branches is so smooth and grey. It's an outstanding momument of a tree. In the summer the leaves and smaller branches reach to the ground as it gives an enormous amount of shade.

This fine art print is from my original colored pencil drawing, drawn with muted colors. As always, it is printed on acid free, heavy weight art paper and I use long lasting archival ink. The size is 2.5" x 3.5". Each is titled and signed, of course, before I slip them into a clear protective sleeve.

Frankliniana Flower Fine Art Print

This flower blossoms on a tree called Frankliniana. It's an interesting story. Early American botanists-John and William Bartram, found this tree in Georgia in 1765. They collected seeds and named if after Benjamin Franklin. The tree was never seen in the wild after 1803, but fortunately, Franklinias still exist since they were able to be propogated from the seeds the Bartrams had collected. Now you can grow them in your garden in the correct zone. They look very much like a magnolia, don't they?

My original drawing was done in colored ink (pointillism style) on a softly textured grey background. I am offering here an 8.5" x 11" print. As always, I use heavier acid free fine art paper and print with long lasting archival ink. I sign and title the print and protect it in a clear sleeve before shipping with care.

As I sit here, the robins are outside singing loudly some of my robin friends are probably looking for worms. I love how they tilt their heads as the hop through the grass in their pursuits.

This ink line drawing is of my dog, sitting in front of our window watching the snow fall. I know this art looks very different than the rest of my shop and it was fun to do!

Spring Salamander

The idea came about at spring time when the salamanders come out after the early rain to mate and lay eggs. My son and I like to look under logs and forest debris to find them. Salmanders have such kind, sweet faces!

Night Tide ACEO

This aceo is printed from an original ink drawing of mine. Click on the second picture for the full view. The inspiration came from one of my trips to Maine. While there, I had the opportunity to explore the beach during one of the spring tides. This is when the moon is full and the moon, earth and sun are all lined up. Because of this, the gravitational pull is even stronger, so the tide goes out farther than normal. What a treasure-trove of sea creatures we came across! It was a special day.

Your aceo is printed on a nice heavier art paper and placed in a protective sleeve. The back will be signed, of course.

BTW-the original drawing is still available, it comes in an 11x14 thich museum mat and is framed in a simple dark brown wooden frame. Convo me if interested.

Every morning when I feed my birds, the sweet little chickadees flit around me, close-by, excited for their breakfast. I love their happy movements and the call of "chickadee-dee-dee-dee". This is a small tribute to them, done as a blockprint.

Fine Art Print-Indian Pipes

While vacationing my husband and I came across these lovely Indian Pipe plants that I painted in watercolor. They grow in shady woods and lack chloropyll-hence their white color! They are often found near decaying tree stumps but are not a fungus, like mushrooms.

Beech Leaf ACEO Print

This little print is from a watercolor I did of a beech leaf....my favorite trees! We have nice specimen in our backyard-a contorted beech tree. The leaves turn a nice color in the fall and in the winter the bark is just lovely-a smooth grey with lichen on it.

Your print is ACEO sized-2.5" x 3.5". I print them all on fine acid free heavy weight stock using long lasting archival inks. Before slipping them into a clear protective sleeve, I sign and title each one.

Owl Fine Art Print-Red Phase

This Eastern Screech Owl was perched on our Serviceberry tree right in front of our house. He was eyeing the sparrows that had built a nest in our eaves. Eastern Screeh owls come in two colorations (or morphs)-grey or reddish brown. Our guy was the reddish brown phase, as you can see from the image and title.

The orgininal watercolor found a happy home already. You can order a reproduction print, though. It will be printed with archival ink on an 8x5" x 11" inch heavy-weight fine art paper with border. Once signed, I will pack and ship it with utmost care!

Juncos are one of my favorite birds. I did the original drawing one winter, inspired while watching these guys in the snow. Their arrival late fall/early winter, is one thing I always look forward to. They are sturdy little guys and I always make sure I let enough seed fall to the ground for them when I feed the birds each day.

Here is a print of the original as an ACEO. The image is printed on heavier 2.5" x 3.5" art paper. I'll be sure to sign the back for you before placing it in it's protective sleeve.

There is something intriging about nests. I decided to draw this one on a grey pastel paper in black and white inks. I like the way it came out and hope you do, too!

This beautiful egret was modeling for me at the zoo. The wild birds are protected now since at the beginning of the century their population dropped 95% due to hunting. Their feathers were prized for fancy hats! Their population has recovered but loss of wetland does make them vunerable.

I decided to draw him with colored pencil and graphite. The orginal drawing sold to a happy buyer already....
