Inspired to create a custom item for an expecting Etsy customer and her child came the birth of the Wee Winter Woolies Earflap hat!

After some trial and error the earflap was designed into the traditional winter woolie hat pattern and I thought it was so great that Orion needed one! His hat (shown) was knit from One hundred percent wool with white and brown woollie braided ties.

What size would you like yours? This one is shown in size 0-6 months. Please add in the comment section of your purchase the size preference and you will have a sweet soft fuzzy earflap hat too!

This listing is for approx. 3 ounces of wool roving material that has been naturally plant dyed by me! This wool is excellent for both felting and spinning (I have done both with it) and has been braided for ease of shipping and of handling.

Piggies for Isla listed in the sold section of my shop is an example of the same dye bath, different soak, different wool that turned out a bit pinker but very similar and represents both the felted and spun versions of the wool(the piggies on the mittens and the ties on the earflap hat)

RAINBOW TROUT hand dyed roving

There was no doubt as I rinsed out the mix of colors and watched the final result appear that this roving held striking resemblance to the beautiful colors that mother nature bestowed on our fishy friend the rainbow trout. Soft pinks and light hues of green, shades of mellow yellow and slight hints of blue peek through. Does anyoe else think trout are as pretty as I do?

This listing is for an approx. 3 and a half ounce braid of hand dyed wool roving. This roving was dyed with organic dyes and naturally set with sodium bicarbonate fixative. Thanks for looking!
