This is the sweetest white piece of vintage pottery-it is in mint condition. It has a ribbed texture and measures approx 5 inches high by approx 5 inches across. It is the most darling little tabletop piece. I guess you might call it ivory rather than white. Wheatgrass/chia pet probably not included.....I don't know if the little blades of grass will trasport so well, but I'm happy to include some seeds if that's a deal breaker. I purchased this from a Chicago area estate sale. The woman who it belonged to was a shopper extraordinaire, noteworthy interior designer, and a woman of exceptional taste. She had this gorgeous butler's pantry with antique framed french menus, and layers and layers upon shelves and shelves of the most amazing crystal, glass, and silver....It was really the most inspiring home. So, that being said- there wasn't anything in the home that wasn't FABULOUS...She was the first person I knew to purchase a handpainted Venetian Silk light fixture that she bought in venice after I returned home with a catalog.

We believe this could be a vintage or antique baccarrat piece, but it is unmarked so I cannot verify that but will include a piece from a baccarat web site which looks very similar. (the piece shown is a two piece candy dish but the lines are so similar) It measures approx 7 inches high, by about 6 inches wide at it's widest point and the diameter is approx 5 inches at the top. It is fairly heavy or weighty and definitely would not blow over holding even the largest stems... This would make a lovely wedding gift.

This is a large vintage birdcage that is a bamboo or teak and in really terrific condition! I would adore this sprayed glossy turquoise but I will leave it AS IS so that the future owner can do what he/she wishes. It was purchased from a chicago area estate and believed to have been purchased between 25-35 years ago. The bottom is removable.

It is 20 inches high to the top and approx 14 inches wide.

* I realize the cost to ship this will be substantial. It is lightweight but it is oversized so although the value of this birdcage is more in the $125 range I've taken this shipping into account and reduced the cost of the birdcage to make it fair for the buyer.

Vintage Book looks so entertaining I'm going to try to zip through it before it sells.Tallulah Bankhead was a dynamic woman unlike any I've ever read about.

Bankhead was born in Huntsville, Alabama and was named after her paternal grandmother.

Bankhead came from a powerful Democratic political family from Alabama. Her father was the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives immediately preceding Sam Rayburn.Bankhead herself was a Democrat, albeit one of a more liberal stripe than the rest of her family.

Her older sister, Evelyn Eugenia, was born January 24, 1901 and was known as "Sister." "Sister", who died on May 11, 1979 was married seven times.

Bankhead's family sent her to various schools in an attempt to keep her out of trouble, which included several years at a Roman Catholic convent school (although her father was a Methodist and her mother an Episcopalian).

At 15, Bankhead won a movie-magazine beauty contest and convinced her family to let her move to New York. She quickly won bit parts, first appearing in a non-speaking role in The Squab Farm. During these early New York years, she became known as a hard-partying girl-about-town. During this time she began to use cocaine and marijuana, going as far as saying "Cocaine isn't habit forming. I should know- I've been using it for years." However, she did not consume alcohol to any great degree. She became known for her wit, although it was aid: "She was so pretty that we thought she must be stupid." She became known for her outspokenness

Bankhead appeared as Blanche DuBois in a revival of Tennessee Williams's A Streetcar Named Desire among several other credits to her name in both broadway and film.

Bankhead was an avid baseball fan whose favorite team was the New York Giants. This was evident in one of her famous quotes, through which she gave a nod to the arts: "There have been only two geniuses in the world. Willie Mays and Willie Shakespeare.

This is a really cool gold scrolly metal frame...Kind of leaf like pattern, kind of baroque, and a little bit frilly. Very cool and very old. The backing is gold as well and has a place where you could string a new wire so you may hang this piece. The image seen here is the original photo that was included in this frame, but I removed it so I could photograph better. It will come without the sepia toned photo. Outside measurements approx 6x8 inches.

This is the type of frame I've seen in antique stores for $150. Great find and would be a nice family heriloom.

White and Gold footed bowl was handpainted in Italy- the interior is a shiny glazed finish and the outside is a matte finish accented with gold. It has a scalloped edge and measures approximately 4.5 inches high and6 inches in diameter.

This would be great on a vanity, as a planter, candy dish, or for serving. Pair it up with white dishes and use it for thanksgiving cranberry relish. Could also be used on a bar for lemons and limes, or for nuts. What a great gift- a pretty spoon and this vessel. It is in mint condition and looks to be from the 60's or 70's.

I love the cover of the dustjaceket but the "map" is equally interesting, first published in 1603 by the JL Smith Company, however, it is in very vintage condition, the creases have worn through but it's still a treat to see.

For you MAD MEN fans....Have a three martini lunch with this CRAZY COOL set.

This gold stripe martini shaker and glasses set has 10 pieces. Ten glasses and the shaker.
The shaker has a chrome top in mint condition and measures approx 12 inches high- the gold stripes have some wear due to age but overall the shaker looks pretty nice.

Nine glasses(a set of eight with one to spare:-) I rarely come across 9 of anything vintage...I have sets of glasses from 2 years ago with more breakage :-)

This set is probably from about the 1960's. I don't really think it was used a whole lot but the glasses do have some wear, scratches and fading from age and/or use. However, the set still shows very nicely.

What a fine gift this would be...Or a gift for thyself for some holiday entertaining. I'll take mine UP with an OLIVE, please.

There is a slight tear on the right hand side-Le Bas LYs ad- about an inch and it ends under the Y in LYS. But the Christofle side is PERFECT. Love this-- it reminds me of the cover of a Wolfman Gold Book that had vintage silver spoons on the cover...

It is carved wood and would make a great statement with a collection of gold letters, frames or art. It might be from the seventies but looks very currant and reminiscent of some designer furnishings that I've seen. If I were going to keep this in my abode, I would probably paint it high gloss kelly green, but that's just me.

Albert is a brilliant young man ("the highest IQ in the school"), but his greatest desire is to be "one of the boys." He is small, skinny, and poor at sports. The other kids make fun of him because of his "rich" father.

This listing is for a pair of vintage white planters made of glazed pottery. I believe they were purchased on a trip to Spain in the 1970's or 80's. I also believe they were custom made for the wife of a Chicago area physician, Dr Anderson. They are marked underneath MADE IN SPAIN and handpainted it reads
"GOOD FRIEND 31A".

The design looks to me like palm fronds. Very retro design and/or pattern. They are handmade and handpainted so they do have slight differences or imperfections but I would say they are 95% perfect.

It is marked in teenie tiny letters CHICAGO and DIEGES & CLUST and GOLD. It is on the heavier side and measures approximately 1 1/4 inches in diameter.

Front of medal depicts a woman with laurel leaves and 2 rowing oars and a banner with the letters " CRC" Chicago Rowing Club, I imagine. Underneath it reads I B C (illinois beach club?). In the distance there is a building with a flag- could be chicago yacht club? Could be evanston? navy pier? Must be lake michigan, that I know for sure....

This would be cool on a chain or worn on a ribbon.

This is a vintage metal(or pendant) from the 1940's. It's engraved 1949, 3rd place. I believe it's gold filled but can't say for sure what the composition is. I've put a new jump ring on it to wear on this black and white stiched ribbon. Of course, it could also be put on a cord or chain.
The image looks like a greek goddess with wings and has laurel leaves as a border at the top. Any more questions, please let me know!

Aged white board and navy blue is in pristine condition considering it's age.

Les Miserables written By Victor Hugo and published by Thomas Nelson and Sons. There is a signature inside the front cover that reads Dorothy Shinn. Unfortunately they are not dated but I am trying to research them and will update this if I have any info to add. Early 1900's for sure.
They measure nearly 6.5x 4.5x inches and are really lovely little books. Would make a great gift for an actor or actress? For someone who'd like to see Les Mis? Or if you are trying to fill a bookshelf or library with gorgeous red books....

But Hugo’s first full-length novel would be the enormously successful Notre-Dame de Paris (The Hunchback of Notre Dame), which was published in 1831 and quickly translated into other languages across Europe. One of the effects of the novel was to shame the City of Paris to undertake a restoration of the much-neglected Cathedral of Notre Dame, which was attracting thousands of tourists who had read the popular novel. The book also inspired a renewed appreciation for pre-renaissance buildings, which thereafter began to be actively preserved.

Hugo began planning a major novel about social misery and injustice as early as the 1830s, but it would take a full 17 years for Les Misérables, to be realized and finally published in 1862. This oval platter was created by Brown Westhead Moore & CO.
English Staffordshire porcelain created in the late 1800's.
Markings on back are just as interesting as the front.

Reads Copyright Depose BWM&Co Canova 2. Brown-Westhead Moore & Co. I believe this pattern is called Birds in Fauna.

This platter measures 14 x 11 inches.
It is in excellent condition considering it is over 100 years old. No chips or cracks- no crazing. See photos for more details... Some dealers would estimate the value of this at upwards of $250.

This is from a French Publication, April 1924. This RUGBY Advertisement measures approximately 11x16 inches. It needs to be trimmed before being matted or framed but the piece itself is in great condition. It is in shades of black, white and grey. There is a signature at the bottom that is dated 1923 but I can't make out the name.

Growing up we had an Old English Sheepdog named RUGBY so I believe this is a special one! Would be so cool framed for a library, boy's bedroom or an office.
