In 2006 I began painting ceramic ornaments with pictures of people's pets on them. 50% of every sale went to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA). I live in Massachusetts and believe in donating locally. It's also where many of our pets have started out before becoming members of our family.

I can paint a generic breed for you or you can send me photos of your own pet.(convo me and I'll send you the info)I paint all sorts of pets, not just cats and dogs, by the way, so send those photos of rabbits, snakes, lizards, ferrets and parakeets along as well. And yes, goldfish, too....Ornaments are about 2" in diameter though the clay pieces are hand cut and are irregular.

This makes a great gift so if you can sneak a photo of your friend's pet tortoise, your mother's one eyed cat, your uncle's chihuaha or your sister's iguana....that's fun, too!

Please allow up to 3 weeks for me to paint your ornament! Each year I get more and more orders because of the success of the ornaments from the year before. I will let you know approximate shipping date when I receive the order.

The first year I raised over $2000 for the animal shelter which they used to add new outdoor fencing for play areas for both dogs and cats. How cool is that?

Each ornament comes in a red or green organza bag. Ornaments are signed and dated 2009 on the back. If you want your pet's name on it, just ask.

Little Raku Heart Wall Hanging One of a Kind C

This lovely Raku heart is very small, small enough to fit just about anywhere but has big presence full of rustic charm. This heart has some nice crackled white glaze and blackened edges, effects from the smoke and flames. It is ready to hang with a bit of ribbon that complements the colors. This piece is just shy of 2" wide and 2" tall. It is approx. 1/4" thick

Large One of a Kind Moon Snail Ceramic Wall Hanging

I make ceramic tiles for part of my living and have done so since 1979, almost 30 years!

All my tiles are handcut and hand carved. I use no stencils or tracings, just my drawing hand. Tiles are carefull dried so they don't warp, are sponge cleaned so they are smooth and lovely and have their first firing. They are then either painted in underglazes and clear glazed, coated with a wonderful bright white glaze or left plain and clear glazed so they fire a creamy off white.

This moon snail is about 7-8" across in any direction and would make a lovely addition to almost any room. It has a light blue ribbon. Moon snails are quite common where I live on Cape Cod but even if you live far, far from the sea it may help you remember the sound of the waves and the feeling of sand between your toes.

Each tile is signed with my initials on the back.

All my items are shippped the day after I receive payment and are carefully packaged and wrapped.

Small Ceramic Raku Pendant with Impressed Shell Design One of a Kind

This small pendant is about and inch and a half long. It is hand formed with a hole in the top for hanging. It is small enough to make a gorgeous necklace or can be hung as an ornament just as is. Add some beads, feathers and whatever and it could have all sorts of fun! It has had a local bay scallop shell impressed in it and has the feel of an old fossil. The colors are closest in the first photo but being Raku they do look different in different lights.

I don't make jewelry myself but I love making these little pieces. Please share photos of your finished pieces with me since I love to see the different ways people use my work!

All my ornaments, beads, buttons, etc. are one of a kind. They are hand cut, using no patterns, stencils or tracings. Each has its own life ;-) and cannot be exactly reproduced.

I have lots of pieces so please ask if you are interested in something you don't see here.

Let Sleeping Cats Lie, one of a kind ceramic pendant

This sweet little guy is a one of a kind hand-made, hand-painted ceramic pendant. I started making them years ago for a jeweler friend to use and they've been quite popular ever since. They are only available directly from me.

When making my pins and pendants, each piece of clay is hand molded and set to dry. Once dry it is cleaned carefully so it has a smooth, paintable surface. Then it is bisque fired and ready to paint in underglazes. I let each piece tell me what face it wants and I am always enchanted and surprised to see who turns up!

Each then gets a wisp of a coat of clear glaze and is fired once more. A traditional pin finding is epoxied to the back and each pin and a hand made hole is in each pendant. You may need to make your own loops since the placement of some of these holes is a bit different than traditional pendants.

This little guy is about 1 1/2" wide and 1 1/2" tall at its widest and tallest points.

I love to see what people make using my pendants so please convo me to let me know what you do with it!

Cheerful Ceramic Robin Mosaic Piece

As a tile maker for almost 30 years I often do custom wall and fireplace pieces that involve cut out pieces in the shapes of birds, flowers, shells, cats, houses, etc.
these small pieces average 3-4" in length though some are larger. All are about 1/4" thick and each is handcut and hand painted with underglazes so no two are the same. They go through the same rigorous process all my tiles go through, are fired twice and are clear glazed for a long life. Please contact me for information about subjects not seen here. These pieces are left overs from much larger projects and do not represent the full spectrum of mosaic pieces that are available.

There may be glaze drips down the sides of these pieces and if there are I have shown them in the photos. I never worry about these drips because the pieces are functional and meant to be adhered to a surface and grouted.

This lovely robin would love to come live with you. The song of the robin is a sure sign of spring in many places and what better way to think of spring all year long than having a robin nearby? Perfect for use in all sorts of projects or to be used as a decoration all by itself. This piece is one of the larger ones, around 7" long.

I carefully wrap and ship all my ceramic items and mail out the day after I receive payment.

Big Raku Ceramic Button with Shell Imprint

This Raku ceramic Button is one of a kind and about 1 1/2"- 2" in diameter. It would look fantastic on a rustic bag or big chunky collar or a sweater....or whatever! It even looks a bit like a fossil with its shell imprint.

All my ceramic buttons and beads are hand formed and hand pressed. Some have shell or stone imprints in them to look a bit like fossils and all have several Raku glazes brushed on to give them a bit of gloss and intrigue. They look different in all sorts of light.

This perky little titmouse would love to come live with you. Titmice are pretty common where I live and can often be found at the bird feeder along with chickadees and downy woodpeckers. Perfect for use in all sorts of projects or to be used as a decoration all by itself. This piece is around 4" long.
