Fun Funky Stoneware Electric Lamp with Black Shade Embellished with Beads...SPECIAL ORDER ONLY

$25.00
Hi....
One thing i have noticed here is that there are very few lamps made from clay....Have you noticed that too? Lots of oil lamps, candle lamps, nite lights, but no tabletop regular lamps...

Sooo,,, I decided to make some....I have them at my galleries, but this particular lamp and shade are so unique and funky and fun, that I thought it would be a great idea to offer it as a special order. It would most definitely make a great addition to someone's home that is funky and fun too... Do you know anyone like that? Someone who is not afraid to color outside the box, who loves to test boundaries, who is not "vanilla", who loves unique and different things that no one else has...

Maybe that person is YOU???

And so i most graciously offer you my lamp, carved 2 days after it was thrown on the wheel, left to dry slowly for over 2 weeks, fired the first time for 14 hours, glazed with a wonderful rich deep brick red that flows over the carvings and leaves behind a charcoal shadow. While trying to decide on a shade for this lamp, the last thing i expected was that it would wear a black one...But not a plain black shade...this shade screamed for embellishments to compliment the lamp it sat upon....so after searching for days, I found these beads....they are the perfect compliment to the lamp...when the lamp is off, the beads show perfectly, when the lamp is on, the beads create a pattern on the shade...notice how the light dances around them..

If you think this lamp belongs with you or someone you know and you want it for a Christmas present, it takes about 3 weeks....all is done by hand, carving is freehand...

I hope you will convo me with any questions or concerns you may have..

and as always, if you love the lamp, but deep red is not your color, we can always find another that reflects your personality..

I take custom orders as well, so when u see this lamp, and would like a different shape, i will be happy to accomodate you....

Custom Order Stoneware Spray Bottle

$20.00
Have you ever wanted something really pretty to put your Windex or your Spray Cleaner in instead of picking up the plastic bottle that has no personality? Well, now you can!

This is a stoneware spray bottle that I did for an etsyer here, she had been looking for one and could not find one,so I made her this...it stands about 5 inches tall, has a trigger spray nozzle and the color is called seaweed..

It takes about 2-3 weeks to get this made, the weather here is damp and dreary, so it takes the clay a little longer to dry completely....You can choose whatever colors will compliment your kitchen, or you can choose to go with the natural color of the clay, which is a speckled tan..i have included a piece that is the speckled tan with just a clear glaze on it for you to see...
The trigger spray nozzle comes in several colors, not a lot to choose from,, but there is the basic black and white, and then there are a few pastel colors, like pink, blue, aqua, and beige...
otherwise, go crazy with your colors!

Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder

$29.00
Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder, so they say. This 9 inch vase has been fired 6 times....it originally was dried to leather hard, then carved with a design, fired, and glazed with riverstone glaze. When it was fired and done, I filled in the carvings with black slip, and fanned it out, fired again, then I glazed with Pottery cascade, fired twice, and here is the finished piece. This is what some call amazing, others call beautiful, and others call it unusual. In the world of clay, the final results of a piece can be many things, but because they are created by my hands and the fire from the kiln, they are all beautiful to me, and like all things in art and life, Beauty IS in the Eye of the Beholder. This vase is not for people who want to put roses, or daffodils or daisies in it. It needs leaves that are coming into their natural beauty, in their natural colors, and I chose dogwood leaves with ivy trailing. See how this arrangement bring out in natural feel of the vase. Autumn is with us now, bring some of it indoors to enjoy.

The Melissa-Springtime Earth Colors Envelope this Teapot with a Leaf Knob on the Top

I got started when I was at a show and a lady wanted a teapot made to match a mug she purchased from me...I had never thrown a teapot in my life, but she asked, and after telling her it would be my first, she simply said, Go ahead and do it....so i did...I decided after throwing hers, that teapots are a personal item, usually for one or two people, and as such I believed they should have a name...and so "The Carrie" was thrown..This is NOT the Carrie, this is The Melissa...I have not glazed the Carrie yet, but when I do, i will convo pics to anyone who wants to see it, as it was my first...
This lovely, if I say so myself, one is my second...Thrown out of stoneware clay, this gorgeous teapot literally shouts that Spring is around the corner...From the spunky leaf knob on the top, to the sensuous earth tones intermingling, The Melissa will become one of your favorite pieces of pottery... Holding just under 15 oz of liquid, it is perfect for morning tea or coffee.

As with all stoneware, this piece is not meant to be put on the stove, but can be microwaved. Put your teabags in the pot, pour boiling water in and put your lid on....allow the tea to steep until it is perfect...or you may use loose leaf tea, there are strainer holes at the front of the spout!

Convo for more info!
Stoneware Welcome Japanese Symbol Turquoise Trivet for Special Order 10 day turnaround time

$15.00
This is approximately 8-9 inch in diameter stoneware trivet that was bisque fired to cone 04. While leather hard, I carved the word "Welcome" and also carved the Japanese symbol for the word as well. The sides of this are left with the natural color of the clay, but with the turquoise and underglaze sliding down pooling for a very primitive effect. I glazed the trivet in a stoneware turquoise glaze that has dimension galore, but left the carving natural and fired again to cone 5, about 2145 degrees. The bottom has little felt feet to protect your furniture.

This is perfect for your hot dishes when they come out of the microwave or oven.
If you would prefer a different color, please let me know and I can show you other colors you may like.

This is a special order item, it takes about 10-14 days to complete.
