Orange Stripey Orb Lariat

The orange and white striped vintage stone sphere is chunky and clunky enough to keep this lariat on any neck. This bead is some combination of coral and possibly bone, though I am not sure, as it did not come with a story of its origin. One thing I know: it is a singular piece.

Chain (nickel-plated steel) measures 16 inches, but bead falls through handmade hammered sterling shape of 1 1/4 inches, so as to make the piece a bit longer. Pieces held together by sterling silver wire.

A unique vintage faceted plastic bead serves as the focal point on a lariat formed by transparent/clear seed beads on gold-filled wire. Wire is flexible so you can shift the shape of the lariat as you push large bead through or as you arrange on your neck. Large bead's shape is a sphere/globe from the top (measuring 1 1/8"), an oval from the side (3/4"), covered with facets, evoking an element from an old chandelier. One much smaller faceted rutilated jasper bead (gray, white, clear) above and one below large bead.

The sterling hammered shape started out as one of my organic/seed-pod shapes, but I went crazy and added some semblance of three fluffy bunny tails (which are raised/3D, from surface of otherwise flat/hammered shape)....hence the Fuzzy Alien persona! 1.5" pendant hangs on strand of round opaline glass beads.

Measures 27", so it's really nice for wearing over winter clothes!
