These socks were designed while catching up on episodes of my favorite television show. The little boxes reminded me of the windows of that mysterious blue call box and the toe forms a spiraling vortex, so naturally the pattern is named for my favorite doctor.

The modular look is well suited for the man in your life but not out of place in a more feminine color. The stitch pattern is bold enough to stand up to many variegated yarns. The slightly asymmetrical stitch pattern helps break up pooling.

The cuff has enough stretch to comfortably fit a number of leg widths. Construction is top down with a pointed vortex toe that doesn’t require the Kitchener stitch and that fits narrower feet or long toes exceptionally well.

Knit in the round on dpns or circulars, this low yardage pattern will allow you that luxury yarn splurge without breaking the bank. Since they don’t require a lot of yarn, this is a great project for using up that odd skein of yarn.

Ribbing in the hand makes the pattern fit a wide variety of sizes. Comfortably fits hands 7 – 8.5 inches (measured at the knuckles). Length is adjustable. They knit up quickly for last minute gift giving.

Multi-sized pattern includes sizes for most infants through adult (16 inch - 24 inch head circumference). All but the largest size can be knitted from 100 yards of yarn or less. This is a terrific stash buster project.

Pattern includes instructions for two matching wash cloths. One is a pretty lace one and the other a textured, functional cloth.

A Note on Pattern Difficulty
The rose motif is a little tricky. Definitely nothing you can fall asleep on but it is well worth the effort. If you are familiar with lace and can handle double decreases, it will be fiddly but manageable. After the roses, the pattern is smooth sailing.
