Ever After is one of my most favorite movies of all time. It tells the "true" story behind the fairy tale of Cinderella. At the end, there is a giant masked ball where the prince is to announce his bride. He had fallen in love with Danielle (Cinderella), thinking she was a Countess. The wicked step-mother finds out about Danielle masquerading as a Countess, and tells the queen that she's engaged to a Belgian, breaking the prince's heart. Danielle comes to the ball in a beautiful ice blue dress with sparkly silver wings to tell him the truth - that she is but a servant. Before she enters the ball, she stops for a moment and coaches herself, "Breathe. Just breathe."

This colorway is for that magical moment. Light, airy mini-batts in shades of ice blue and a small amount of sparkly silver firestar.

My dad loved Neil Diamond, therefore some of my fondest childhood memories involve his songs. Driving home from Seaport Village on 4th of July with “America” blasting on the radio easily ranks in the top five. And even though Neil Diamond came to San Diego almost every fall, my dad had never been to one of his concerts. After I graduated college and started getting a regular paycheck, I wanted to buy my dad Neil Diamond concert tickets so he could finally see him live. I waited and waited for news of the next concert date, but it never came.

My dad killed himself in May 2003, before I could buy him his concert tickets. This colorway is for him, because every time I hear Neil Diamond, the most wonderful memories are conjured.

I've been a bookworm for as long as I can remember. When I was in junior high, my grandma started siphoning off old books from her library (she was a high school librarian) that she would have to dispose of otherwise, and gave them to me to read. They were mostly from the 50's and 60's - Fifteen, Going on Sixteen, The Girls of Canby Hall series, and other such titles. All the girls coveted an orchid corsage from their favorite boy on the night of the dance. So, to me, the orchid is one of the most romantic flowers.

Every effort has been made to extinguish all dyes without felting or compressing the fiber. The fiber may bleed when washed in warm water, but the integrity and intensity of the color will not be affected.
